Dude: yes, it's something i do besides chatting with a dog. yes, the dog that is you.
Dasch: why do you sing. what does that do anyways.
Dude: it's just like chatting but there is melody and rhythm. plus, sometimes it doesn't even have to make sense. so there's no guarantee there will be any good communication.
Dasch: is it more akin to me barking at people.
Dude: i don't know if we will call that a music. but you have a point. it is that when you don't sing well, it just sounds like your annoying bark. they may flap and close their ears.
Dasch: well, so far, my barking doesn't really make me a good singer then.
Dude: yes, you can work on it. then maybe, they will finally look up and try to listen what you have to say to them. speaking of which. what really is it that you want to say when you are barking at people outside.
Dasch: to be honest. my barking has nothing to do with any worded message or speech. it's actually more like a sneeze or fart. it just bursts out against my will. so just like you don't know what fart or sneeze is trying to say, likewise for my barking.
Dude: yeah, i don't think there's chance that your barking can be part of music. no hope for that.
Dasch: just like when you hiccup. there really isn't anything you are trying to say.
Dude: so yeah, i've been singing but honestly i don't know what i am trying to say when i sing.
Dasch: i mean there are lyrics don't they.
Dude: yeah, but i don't mean any of that honestly. i do read them as i sing. however i do not care if listeners don't understand them.
Dasch: so your singing is very empty as in words being empty without sincerity or substance.
Dude: yes it is up to listeners to get any meaning out of it however they want. there is nothing i am enforcing on them.
Dasch: then doesn't singing kind of become meaningless or purposeless.
Dude: no, for me, it's like vomiting what's inside me. i get to throw out everything heaped inside me. it's like emptying garbage bin.
Dasch: isn't that equivalent to throwing trash at listeners?
Dude: umm. i can't help but agree. i would however add that garbage can be thrown out beautifully.
Dasch: but garbage themselves aren't beautiful… no?
Dude: no, garbage is nothing more than what has been thrown away for lacking any usage. so it's not guaranteed they are always ugly. that's a bias. garbage can be beautiful. and it really depends on how singer performs the garbage throwing at the listeners.
Dasch: are listeners then in a sense voluntary garbage cans?
Dude: i mean they will only listen to what they desire to hear so they will discriminate what garbage gets thrown in their way so yeah they will more likely be recycle bins.
Dasch: oh i see. then i guess singing is good for environment.
Dude: why not.
Dasch: cool. so why don't we go sing.
Dude: sure. for a good cause.
