Raymond.
I couldn't concentrate at the office anymore. My body needed some cool shower for it to function properly.
A rush of heat ran over my body as I thought of Ashley. She wasn't at the office and had taken permission from the CEO that she won't be available due to some emergencies.
"Ashley, hope you are alright?" I muttered. She hasn't called me like she normally does whenever she is absent from work.
Today was definitely different. I just hope that everything is alright with her. I dialled her digits to call her but it wasn't reachable. I tried numerous times but still it wasn't going through.
Silver wants to tell me something about Ashley but I don't know what it is she wants to tell me. She already said that I should come to her place before she told me.
Isn't that ridiculous? What on earth does she want to say that can't be said in the office? Or is something wrong with Ashley that I'm not aware of?
Argh… I need to get out of here before I lose it. I wasn't able to go through the files on my desk anymore because of too many things on my mind.
I stood up from my seat and arranged the files on my desk swiftly before heading home.
Thank goodness, I'm home now. I went to the wine bar in the living room to sip some wine and immediately there was a pop up message on my phone.
I opened the message on the inbox and saw that it was from Silver. She had sent me her house address in case I made up my mind to come over to her place.
Hmm… was this really necessary. Well before I go to her place, I need to inform Ashley and also to make sure that nothing is wrong with her.
I went to my room to freshen up and after that, I put on some clothes. I dialled Ashley's digit but it wasn't available. This is unlike her. What could be wrong? I thought.
I made up my mind to go to Silver's house and listen to everything she has to say because nothing is making sense right now.
Besides, they are bestfriends and I believe she would have a clue about Ashley's whereabouts.
Locating Silver's apartment wasn't a herculean task on my side. I don't know for other people who have come visiting. Anyways, it's none of my business.
I raised my right hand to knock but found out that the door wasn't locked and I proceeded to open it. "Who is there?" A voice yelled.
Oh, that was Ashley's voice. "Hello, it's Raymond." I replied, waiting for her to allow me in.
"You can come in." She gestured. As soon as I came in, Silver was lying on the couch with her legs spread apart revealing her red G-strings. I tilted my head to the other side of the living room to avoid been tempted
She raised her head up to have a full view of me, "wow.. you finally came. I didn't believe you would come." Silver got up from her couch and smoothened her short dress.
"Please have a seat." She declared, as she smacked her chewing gum noisily.
"Thank you." I acknowledged, as I sat down opposite her. "So what is it you want to tell me concerning Ashley? Hope she is fine?"
"Ah..ahh..ah. A laugh broke through her lips. You can't be serious. So you are really worried about her?"
"Why won't I be?" I asked. "I have not seen her since today nor heard from her and besides she wasn't reachable."
"Well, I guess that's why you decided to come here." She fumed, as a flash of temper lighted her eyes.
"Yes, you're right." I answered.
"Why didn't you go to her place to check up on her instead of coming here in the first place." She said in a deep voice that seemed to vibrate along her nerves.
"You know, when I saw your text concerning where to locate you, I found out that your place was closer to me. And besides, it's late already. I can't drive towards Ashley's area right now."
"That's okay then. So tell me how much you love her." She asked, a whimsical look in her eyes.
"Why do you ask?" I inquired. "If I could remember vividly, this is not the reason I came here. You said you would tell me something about Ashley and I expected you to go ahead."
"Calm down young man. What I'm about to tell you is so deep that when you hear them, you would shiver. That is why I brought up that question."
"Okay then. I love her so much. She is everything to me and has all the qualities that I need in a woman. I could lay down my life for her."
"Nice one. Very impressive. So what would make you end things with her?"
"I don't think it's possible. We have come a long way and nothing will tear us apart. I said excitedly.
"Really?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Okay. What if your wedding with her is no longer taking place, what will you do? How will you feel?"
"My wedding is gonna take place and it's in a few days time. You know that. Nothing would stop it."
"So you trust her well enough?"
"Of course I do trust her. So why all these questions?"
"You would know very soon. Don't worry. Take your time and relax."
She got up from where she was sitting and approached me. "What do you care for?"
"Nothing."
"Are you for real?" She asked, perplexed. "You can't come to my house without taking anything."
"Fine, a glass of water will do."
"Alright, suit yourself."
Silver brought the glass of water and handed it to me. I took it and drank it in one gulp. I dropped the glass on the middle table before me.
