Raymond.
Silver stood behind me and I felt a hand on my right shoulder and the next thing another hand was placed on the left shoulder.
Suddenly, she started massaging them and I could feel a swirl of sparks in my stomach. "What are you doing?"
She was mute and didn't pay attention to what I was asking her. I removed her hands from my shoulders and stood up immediately.
"What do you think you are doing huh?" I yelled. "Is this why you called me here?"
She moved towards me and pushed me back to the couch. "Why can't you listen to simple instructions? I said you should relax a bit. You need some little exercise on your body so that you will have some strength to listen to all I have to say and show to you."
"You can't be serious." I spat. "Why waste my time? Why can't you go straight to the point and tell me all I need to know."
Silver sat down beside me and extended her hand to my chest. God save me from this girl. "What have I gotten myself into?" I mumbled.
I flinged her hand out of my chest. "Have you forgotten that I'm your best friend's fiance? Is this how you are?"
"If you are Ashley's fiance and so fucking what? You want to tell me you've not cheated on her before?" She bellowed.
"What are you saying?" I was surprised at her outburst. "How will I cheat on her when she is the only woman that I love?"
"You are still talking about love huh? By the time you listen to what I'm about to tell you and see for yourself, you won't talk about love anymore."
She cupped my face with her hands and smiled down at me. "Stay here, let me get something for your eyes. I'm coming."
I felt relieved when she left my side. What sort of a friend is this? I wondered where Ashley got her from and how they met. Such a disgusting fellow. My cock was already dancing to her tune.
I need to leave here once she is done with whatever she was meaning to tell me. I noticed that her face normally turns sour whenever she sees me talking with Ashley but I wasn't bothered.
Not in my wildest imagination, would I have known that I would be in her house having some mere discussion. Is this a trap or what? I reasoned.
The sound of footsteps echoed through the house and I tilted my head towards the direction where it was coming from.
Silver was cascading the staircase with some big brown envelopes clutched to her hands. "What could be in that envelope?" I muttered, barely above a whisper
"Does she want to give me money to seduce me? I asked no one in particular." My imagination ran far and wild. Why are all these taking so much time? I didn't intend to sleep over and this is 10:30 pm already.
"My dear, thank you for patiently waiting for me. But you see, you would thank me later." She said, giving me a wink.
"Please can you hurry up with whatever you want to say to me. I'm running out of time. I need to have some quiet sleep."
"What's this big house for? There are enough rooms available." She said, Spurring her eyes everywhere.
"Are you serious right now? To think I can sleep in your house without Ashley's knowledge."
"She would know if you tell her that you slept here unless you keep your mouth shut. You are so clumsy. By the way, I brought some vital information for you. Here it is, take a look at the content there."
Silver threw the envelope at me. I took it and emptied the content on the couch. There was a picture and an invitation card.
I picked the picture first, it shows an elderly man. A man old enough to be my father. "What's this picture for?"
"Take a look at the invitation." She motioned.
I took the invitation, opened it and read through the content. Shiver ran through my spine when I saw Ashley's name there. I looked at the surname again to be sure that it was her.
My heart was pumping up and down. I was breathing abnormally. "What's all these? Can you tell me what's happening because I can't understand anything."
"Okay. I will explain everything now."
She sat down beside me and gave me a quick kiss in my mouth. I was restless and couldn't do anything.
"You see, that man you saw there is Ashley's lover and they are planning to tie the knot together as husband and wife."
"Wait… you mean she is seeing someone?" I was confused.
"Yes, her parents planned to marry her off to an old man which she gladly accepted because he is rich." Silver blurted, as she rolled her eyes.
"Ha..ha.." I let out a laugh. "No, I don't believe this. I guess you are joking."
"Do I look like a comedian to you? I'm telling you something important and you are here spitting trash."
"All these things you said ain't making any sense to me. Ashley knows we are getting married in a few days and we are making preparations for that." I said.
"Is that so?" She asked. "Why hasn't she called you since today? Why was she away from work for two whole days without relating the reasons to you? And now, you can't even reach her. Think about it."
"I was so confused that I didn't know what to do. Who should I believe?" I thought to myself.
"Well, the ball is in your court. Use the information you have gotten freely from me wisely." She advised me.
"It's true that she has been away from work for two days without telling me the reasons. But that doesn't mean anything. She might be having a hard time. Her phone must have been having some network issues."
"You mean hard times? You are so clumsy. Ashley has been secretly seeing this man. He has been spending on her and you don't expect her to leave him for you." She blurted.
"So why should I believe you?"
