Pamela's POV
The sun was hardly up when I opened the window covering in my office. A faint light spread over the city view, and the tall buildings looked like shiny teeth. It should have been a nice morning, but I felt worried.
I had been involved with the company's past, trying to clear out mishandled funding. Ray's management has left too many holes to be filled and I was tasked in doing that now.
Pushing myself off the bed felt like a much harder task to accomplish. As soon as I pushed myself off the bed, a loud knock sounded on my door.
"Come in!"
My assistant rushed in, her face mixed with confusion and fear
"Good morning, Luna," she said, putting everything neatly on my desk.
I gave her a weak smile, knowing a stack of files as early as eight in the morning was never good and I first grabbed the reports.
Numbers were all over the pages in rows, but one line quickly made me lose my calm.
A transfer.
Then another. Then another.
