Chapter 10 - Shopping Dilemma's

The excitement of the upcoming beach trip was a welcome break from the monotony of summer vacation, but for Violet, it also brought a new challenge. As a first-year high schooler, she wasn't used to the idea of going to the beach with friends, especially when it involved something as daunting as buying a swimsuit.

Determined to face her fears, Violet decided to go shopping alone. She walked into the mall, trying to appear confident, but as soon as she stepped into the swimsuit section, her resolve began to waver. The racks were filled with all kinds of swimsuits—bright colors, bold patterns, different styles—all of which only made her more nervous.

Violet hesitated in front of a display, her mind racing with doubts. She had never been one for flashy clothing, and the idea of wearing something so revealing in front of her friends was overwhelming. As she stood there, her heart pounding, she realized she couldn't do this alone.

Without thinking twice, Violet pulled out her phone and called Kei. It rang twice before Kei picked up, her voice cheerful as always.

"Hey, Violet! What's up?"

Violet hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Kei, I… I'm at the mall, trying to buy a swimsuit. But I'm… kind of freaking out."

Kei's voice softened, understanding immediately. "Don't worry, I'm on my way. Just stay where you are, and I'll be there soon."

True to her word, Kei arrived within minutes, a comforting smile on her face as she found Violet still standing in front of the display, looking as though she wanted to disappear into the floor.

Kei walked over and gave Violet a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "It's okay, Violet. We'll find something you're comfortable with."

Violet sighed in relief, feeling the tension in her shoulders ease slightly. "Thanks, Kei. I just… didn't know where to start."

"That's what friends are for," Kei replied, flashing her a bright smile. "Let's take a look together, and I promise we'll find something that's just right for you."

With Kei by her side, Violet felt a lot more at ease. They began browsing through the racks together, Kei pointing out different styles and explaining the pros and cons of each one. She was patient and never pushed Violet into anything that made her uncomfortable, focusing instead on helping her friend find something she could feel good about.

After trying on a few different options, Violet finally found a swimsuit she liked—a simple one-piece in a soft pastel color that was modest yet stylish. Kei nodded approvingly when Violet stepped out of the dressing room, a small smile on her face. "You look great, Violet," Kei said, giving her a thumbs-up. "That's perfect for you."

Violet glanced at herself in the mirror, still feeling a bit shy but also relieved. "Thanks, Kei. I couldn't have done this without you."

"Anytime," Kei replied with a wink. "Now, let's grab a cold drink and relax. We've got a beach trip to look forward to!"

As they left the store, Violet felt a sense of accomplishment. Shopping for a swimsuit had been a challenge, but with Kei's help, she had faced it head-on. And now, with her new swimsuit in hand, she felt ready to enjoy the beach day with her friends.

The trip was already shaping up to be memorable, and Violet was grateful to have friends like Kei who supported her through the tough moments. It wasn't just about the swimsuit—it was about the bond they shared and the way they helped each other grow, even in small ways.

As they walked out of the mall together, Violet felt a little more confident, a little more ready to embrace the summer fun that awaited them.
