Chapter 88 - The Magica Encyclopedia Of Magical Beasts!

Walking up to the book fort, Luna crouched and looked inside, where Lilly mumbled the words from her book.

Luna hadn't looked at her properly before. "As she looked at her right then, it hit her.

Her neck-length pinkish hair swayed gently as she moved her eyes from side to side, and her soft green eyes glimmered in the soft light. Her white dress fluttered around her, and in that moment, she resembled her grandfather uncannily.

Grandfather? … I have no memory of him, sadly. But she eerily looks like him, Luna's warm gaze observing Lilly without blinking.

Just as she finished her thought, Lilly mumbled out loud, "Y-yes, now I'll s-show them, t-they won't underestimate m-me!" In Luna's eyes, her stutter was really cute.

Lilly relaxed her arms, letting go of her book as it landed on her lap. She finally saw Luna, who was smiling from ear to ear, Luna's cheeks colored with a soft red.

Blinking twice, she realized that she was found out. Picking up the book, she covered her face with it, only to lower it and peek out. Even though only part of her face was showing, her blush was evident on her whole face.

"S-Sister L-Luna, what are y-you doing here?" Lilly said, her stutter emphasising the feeling around her.

I understand now why everyone 'underestimates' her, heh. She's so cute.

"Study as much as you can and prove them wrong!" Luna said, followed by a warm, encouraging chuckle.

I hope this will encourage her to use her time well.

Then, I should find Niva now. See if he was all talk and no action, hehe. Luna's smile faded to a faint, simple curve as she gripped her legs and stood up. She stepped a few steps in front of the fort.

"Luna, I found the book you said to bring!" Niva exclaimed as he held the book in his paws, gliding forward towards her.

"Wait! Hide, my sister is here!" she whispered in a rush as sweat poured down her face. Extending her hands, she gripped Niva into her arms and squeezed him against her body, gripping only the book.

"Oh…" she murmured.

"Oh, don't worry. I made sure we wouldn't be seen. Who would I be if I couldn't predict that she was here? I just froze the space behind you in a doorway manner, making it look like you are invisible."

Luna turned in disbelief as she saw Lilly crawl out of the fort, looking around, dumbfounded at the sight where she couldn't see her sister.

"Aren't I great? Praise me!" he said in the most enthusiastic voice he could muster.

Luna only gestured over her shoulder for him to come closer as she observed Lilly looking around for her. That action of hers made Luna happy.

Niva floated in front of Luna. "My praise?"

Extending her arms, she gave her book to Niva, confusing him. As he looked at the book and then at her, he saw Luna laugh. "Haha! Come here!" She grabbed him in a hug and squeezed him tightly, rubbing her face on his fur.

A bewildered look settled on Niva's face as he held the book, but Luna held him. He relaxed as his body went limp, trusting Luna. With that, Luna turned around and walked by the bookshelves and out of the library.

Walking down the corridor, it struck her and she asked, "Is that the only book in the library about magical beasts?"

"Yes. I searched all throughout the library, but sadly it was the only one. To think in such a big place, there is only one such book…"

"Indeed. How could they…" Her voice bounced off the walls as she kept walking forward, staring pointlessly ahead.

"...Then, let's go to my room. We'll read it there," Luna said. With that, Niva nodded and Luna darted with a smile, running down the corridor towards her room.

Placing the book on the wooden table, Luna sat down into the red, leathery sofa. As Niva drifted around her in a circular manner, she asked, "Alright, what do you think? Is there anything about you in that book?"

"On me? Specifically on me? No, I really did a great job keeping myself hidden, as I showed you! No one! Not even one person saw me in that forest. Surprisingly—or, rather, not surprisingly—you found me, heh!" Niva said, spinning around the book.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Luna asked.

"Ah, you know…"

"Sigh, right… of course," Luna said.

Luna leaned forward, picking the book up, and leaned back into the sofa. Niva stopped spinning and looked straight at her while relaxing in midair.

"I'll be right, as I always am, am I right?" Niva said, placing his paw onto his head while relaxing totally unnaturally.

"Yeah… Then let's see if there is anything on you in here," Luna said, opening the book widely to a random page.

As the pages flipped, it stopped right on one page. It intrigued both Luna and Niva.

"What is this!" They both looked in excitement at their findings.
