The next morning I woke up to the sound of things moving around in the house.
I quickly came out only to find Mo Yiling and Mo Yuen trying to move some tables aside.
"Huh? What are you two doing to early in the morning?"
Flustered, Yiling responded, "W-we were trying to get things arrange so Mama won't have to do much work."
Her words touched me as I bent and pattex her head, "Good girl.. mama is happy to see you guys work hard but these tables are to big for you.."
I handled it instead, "Do something more befitting of your size and power huh?"
They nodded immediately. "Mo Yuen, go bring those baskets and take them to the kitchen." I instructed as he literally flew to action.
"Mo Yiling, you are in charge of cleaning the compound.. go take the broom!"
She nodded aswell as she immediately started cleaning the house old.
Sighing, I placed my hands on my waist as I stared at the huge house. The house was divided into five compartments. One is the main bedroom. Second is the kitchen at the left side. Then at the right another room. The middle an empty room with a round table.. we could use as a dinning room. Then another room at the corner. Huge, big enough for three people to stay in.
I have to admit that the house, although old and Dusty is quite big. It could be categorized as a mansion if only taken care of well.
Sigh. I also got into action as well, I carried all the cooking utensils into the kitchen as I used a wet rag to clean the dusty house.
In two hours.. the three of us were done cleaning.
Now the house looked much more better. Still needed a lot of repairs but still more cleaner.
Bao Bao was still recovering so he obviously needed a more cleaner environment to improve his health.
"Good job you two, you were really helpful!" I gave them both an high give as they smiled in satisfaction.
"This is going to be our little home from now on Mama, we have to make sure it's very very clean." Yiling said cutely as I agreed to her words hundred percent.
Just then, Yan Mei walked into the compound, with a food basket in her hands as the aroma quickly captured the three of us.
"Good morning, You guys seem to be in a good mood today." Saying that, she looked at the house and compound and her smile immediately dropped.
"What tha-? Y-you.. you guys have cleaned the whole house.. oh my goodness! It looks much better now."
She said happily as she handed over to us the basket of food, "here you go.. I made a small dish before coming, you there seem so tired.. here have breakfast."
She said as Yiling and Yuen quickly ran to the kitchen to go get plates and chopsticks. Meanwhile I brought stools and a table for us to place the food.
With everything prepared, I went inside to bring little Bao Bao as I placed him on my laps, feeding hims slowly.
"Thanks for the food Yan Mei, you're a life saver."
"Hahahaha.. no problem, no problem. If this is the little I can do for you, I'm not bothered." She said as she ate along with us.
Soon we were done and the kids went inside while I and Yan Mei sat on the table.
"So what Is your plan now Lin Xu? I'm happy that you were able to leave the Lu family but now you have literally no way of making money so what's next?"
She asked as I sighed. Making money is a little different here since education for women didn't exist. Only men were allowed to be scholars.
The best way to make money at the point is from running a shop.
"Hay! Yan Mei, in the mountain, we are allowed to kill as much animals as we like?" I asked as an Idea immediately struck my head.
"Hmm we are but only hunters usually have the mind to go into the mountains. It's filled with so many wild animals, going there eis the best way to get yourself killed. Why are you asking though?"
Smiling, I then said, "Susu.. I need you!"
Immediately everything paused as though time had stopped. And in front of me Susu appeared.
The air shimmered faintly, and in front of me, Susu appeared in a white flowing robe, now in a more physical form different from last night.
Seemed it went through some update.
[ Good morning, Host~ It seems you've been quite busy this morning. The house looks much cleaner now. ]
"Morning, Susu," I replied with a small smile, brushing a strand of hair behind my ear. "Yeah… the kids worked really hard. But right now, I need your help."
[ Oh? What do you need, Host? ]
I leaned forward slightly, lowering my voice as if someone could overhear even though we were in our own suspended space.
"What hunting tools do you have available? I'm thinking of going into the mountains… but I can't just walk in there with a broomstick."
[ Of course, I have everything from basic to advanced hunting gear. Let's see… ]
With a wave of her slender hand, a long table appeared in front of us, neatly arranged with various tools:

•A crossbow with steel bolts
•A sharp hunting knife in a leather sheath
•A short spear with a reinforced tip
•Animal traps of various sizes
•And finally… a sleek hunting rifle with a small pouch of bullets ~ ]
My eyes widened slightly at the sight of the gun. "You… actually have this?"
[ Naturally. But firearms are rare in this world, Host. They're powerful, but using one will definitely draw attention. Still, for your safety, I'd say it's worth it. ]
I tapped my chin in thought. "How much?"
[ For you, since you only have one tael left, I can give you the rifle with ten bullets for exactly that. ]
I didn't hesitate. "Deal."
The moment I confirmed, the rifle shimmered and appeared in my hands lightweight but deadly. The metal was cold against my palms, and I felt a strange thrill run through me.
[ Handle it with care, Host. Bullets aren't easy to come by here. Make each shot count. ]
"Got it," I said, my lips curving into a determined smile.
Looks like the mountains were about to meet a new kind of hunter.
Immediately she disappeared, I hide the gun inside my robe as the world immediately resumed back.
"I have an idea Yan Mei. I'm going into the mountain TO HUNT!"
"WHAT!?"
