Brandan Hyde glanced at her gently, then silently took her hand and led her out of the hospital.
The two didn't return to their place but instead wandered aimlessly around the island.
The island seemed somewhat desolate, perhaps because James Mason's coma had sapped the energy of everyone on the island, or maybe it was just the chill of winter making everything appear lifeless.
A gust of cold wind blew, causing Iris Harris to sway with her frail figure. Brandan frowned slightly and pulled her close, saying, "Let's go back. It's too cold here."
Iris broke free from his hand and walked toward the coast, with Brandan following behind her, feeling somewhat helpless.
She found a rock, sat down, and hugged her legs as she gazed at the ocean.
Brandan sat next to her, opened his coat, and wrapped her in his embrace, "If you're upset, just let it out and cry."
He wasn't the one involved, so he couldn't fully grasp her emotions, but he knew how important James Mason was to her.
