Early the next morning, when Han Xi woke up, Lu Jinghan was no longer in the room. She lifted the blanket and got out of bed, her steps unsteady as she headed to the bathroom.
The rough treatment from last night was too much, and now Han Xi felt like her legs didn't belong to her.
After freshening up and changing clothes, Han Xi went downstairs. Lu Jinghan was just coming out of the kitchen with breakfast: "You're awake, come over quickly and have some breakfast."
"Why are you cooking? Where's Sister Zhang?"
Lu Jinghan pulled down the sleeves that were pushed to his elbows, pulled out a chair, and sat down beside Han Xi: "Sister Zhang called this morning saying something came up at home and she needs to take two days off."
