"Almost there." Sophie Smith couldn't help but smile when she heard "Eastern City."
"Asher Land keeps his word, don't worry." Sophie patted Eva Miller's shoulder. "We'll go see Mr. Johnson together then."
"Mm!" Eva couldn't hide her excitement either.
"What's making you so happy?" Nolan Davis saw two women with smiles as bright as flowers as soon as he entered the hall, and couldn't help but feel puzzled.
"Mr. Davis, you're back." Sophie stood up, willingly taking his coat and briefcase from him.
This only deepened the confusion in Nolan's heart.
"What's going on?" Sophie's actions gave him a momentary feeling of being flattered. He's so easily satisfied; just a little sweetness from her can make him feel a bit smug.
"Nothing really." Sophie didn't know why Nolan would ask; she was just chatting with Eva, and when he returned, she helped him put his things away. Why, was her behavior really strange now?
In Nolan's eyes, of course, it was strange.
