Chapter 2 - A Starling Among Sprites

In the enchanted glade of Luminaria, fairies flitted between flowers, painting petals and coaxing dewdrops to shimmer. Lucky was different with her mosaic wings compared to the other fairy's wings that are rainbow. She tripped over thistle thorns, tangled her wings in spiderwebs, and accidentally set off a chain-reaction of her own magic that she didn't even know she had. No knowledge and no understanding of it. "Careful, Lucky!" called thistle, the garden fairy as Lucky sneezes she caused a mushroom to explode into glitter. " I… I… I...I'm sorry, I just sneezed sparkles?" said lucky in a low tone.

The elder- fairies sighed and shook their heads, unsure of what to make of her. Lucky never stopped smiling after everything that's happened to her. "Maybe I'm not like the others." as luck whispers to a sleeping toadstool, "But that doesn't mean I'm meant for bigger and better things."

As the toadstool wakes up, Lucky jumps back and laughs and heads to her home and goes to sleep. One morning, the sun rose late and a strange oily vine had crept into the glade from the Tanglewood. A cursed forest said to be sealed for a long time.

The light starts to be dimmed, the flowers wilting, and the magic for the fairy's started to dissipate Queen Lumina summoned the elders to the great tree. "We must send someone to the Tanglewood forest to investigate on what's causing this." said elder Elbereth. "so who are we going to send the last time we did fiddlesticks never came back." said Elder Oona. "What if we did sen..." "Send me!" said luck tripping on the top step, laughter and whispers are heard in the court halls.

"You? Why do you think we should remotely send you?" said elder Alder. "Alder, why ask that question?" said Elder Oona. "Lucky, why should we send you?" said Queen Lumina, "Well, I know that I'm maybe meant for this." While Lucky is shrugging her shoulders. The Queen smiled faintly, "Then you shall have my blessing, my child of starlight." 1 Armed with a moonleaf cloak and a pouch of sparkleberries, Lucky sets out for her journey to the Tanglewood. The Glade gates dimmer behind her as she flies her way to the Tanglewood's. As she fly's the vines are twisting and moving in the shadows as she gets closer to the Tanglewood's she sees the thorny jaws open to the Tanglewood. Inside, whispers dance though the thorny trees voices echoes, "Hi, are you new or food?" said in the shadows, Lucky ignores it then she hears, "You don't belong, you're not a real fairy, you're a failure, you can't accomplish anything." Throughout the forest it echoes, but Luck pushes on with the pride of a lion. As night fell, she found an injured moth with silver wings.

"Stay away from me." said the moth "What's wrong, I can help?" said lucky in a concerned voice "I clipped my wing on a dead tree branch." said the moth Lucky starts to rap the moth's wing. "Oh, by the way my name is Lucky, what's your name?" "My name is Silva." "There you go Silva your wing is all wrapped and be safe Silva."

"I will Lucky, and thanks again." As Lucky heads off deeper in the forest she's smiling while thinking to herself, "I just made a friend on this journey."
