-Michinaga Mansion Backyard-

So I was sitting in my backyard under a really tall tree next to a well(a well I think Sadako used to use), as Ophis was sitting on my lap, snacking on the stuff I brought for her from my little trip to the Underworld.

Her expression was the same as usual, partly blank on unreadable, even though she was currently snacking. And when she was finished...

"Thank you... But I think the snacks here... are better..."

"Is that so?" I patted her head. "Well, I'm glad to hear it, you'll definitely have more from here then."

"By the way, you said you had something for me?" I ask.

"Yes. I, have a gift for you." Ophis nodded.

Ophis got off my lap as she then turned to me, raising one hand as she rested it atop my head.

Huh, has the head patter become the head patted?

Such is nature, I suppose.

-voooooom!-

From her palm shot out a black-ish purple energy that coalesced into the slender, serpent-like structure.

"Oh... That's the.."

"A gift. One of my snakes." Ophis calmly said.

-whistle-

I let out a low whistle as I looked at the

These were the same kind of snakes that she gave to the likes of Diadora, Creuserey Asmodeus, that allowed them to fight against people higher than their levels for a while...

In cultivation terms, this would be the secret sit-on-your-ass pill that would allow you to 'jump ranks' and fight against people with a higher cultivation level than yourself.

"I, will give this to you." Ophis muttered.

This little snake of hers didn't just boost Sacred Gears, it practically squeezed every ounce of potential from them, dragging out latent power at a cost most mortals couldn't handle.

---Mortals who weren't me, that is.

Still, better safe than sorry… So, in my case? I had a few safeguards so that any worst-case scenarios don't rear their ugly heads at me.

[Body Modification]

I'll fine-tune it alongside my [Spirit Organ], so that instead of this forceful awakening of power many get, it'll be smoother than the best engine you could stuff inside a decent vehicle.

Without hesitation, I extended my hand, allowing the energy serpent to slither up my arm.

-slither, slither-

When it reached my chest, it paused, then dove straight through my sternum, vanishing into me.

-badump, badump-

I could feel it.

Her little snake was so deep inside of me that I could feel it touching my heart.

My heart skipped as I felt it coiling around my soul like an anchor, before submerging completely.

But I wasn't done yet.

"Let's see…" I muttered, closing my eyes. "Asterion, can we store this thing in the Labyrinth?"

[Heheheheh… Go ahead, host.]

"Alright then." I cracked my knuckles. "Let's get busy."

I activated [Time Stop], and the world froze.

[5]

I focus as the all too familiar 3D Model of my body appeared. As I focused more, I could almost see a clear spiritual network, with energy moving to and fro like they were blood in my veins.

Alright.

[4]

I used [Body Manipulation] to make a path for Ophis' snake towards my [Spirit Organ], so that the eventual power boost will be dispersed in a controlled manner throughout my entire body, functioning like an endless well for me to tap into, rather than a forceful constriction over my Sacred Gear like the original felt for others.

[3]

As I guided it through my body, I had this odd feeling about it that it almost reminded me somewhat of a living organism.

Anyways, I made sure that it passed through the proper channels.

[2]

Activating [Chaos Labyrinth Crown], Asterion's chuckles grew louder as I practically made a path for it to also enter as well.

[1]

"Alright, little snake," I whispered. "Welcome home."

[0]

And with that, time has resumed.

-vsssssssshhhhhh!-

The impact was instantaneous. My veins glowed dark purple, and my hair stood on end as energy flooded my system.

My heartbeat beat like crazy as the excess energy scattered rocks and dirt around my backyard.

"Kekekekekeke!" I laughed, partly in disbelief, partly in exhilaration. "Oh, this is insane! I love it!"

Ophis blinked up at me as I jumped to my feet, then, without thinking, I grabbed her by the waist, lifted her up like a doll, and kissed her on both cheeks as I tossed her gently into the air.

"Thank you, Ophis!" I grinned, catching her mid-air and setting her back down. "With this, I'll definitely help you kick that silly red dragon out of the Dimensional Gap one day."

She stared at me blankly, crumbs still on her lips. "Great Red… will lose?"

"Lose?" I chuckled. "Keke...kehahahahahahah---!"

He's gonna get one-shotted to show the readers that the ExE Gods are not to be trifled with.

So, if he's gonna get gone, why don't I help Ophis move in?

Eventually, of course.

"When my plans are put into motion, even the Khaos Brigade will feel like they've just been put on the unemployment line!"

For a second, Ophis just stared.

Then, very faintly, and mean, very faintly, her lips curved upward into what could only be described as the smallest smile in existence.

-click!-

I already took a picture.

"Oh my god." I said in perfect, fluent English.

"I, don't understand," Ophis tilted her head again. "What do you mean."

"Simply savoring the moment, Ophy!"

"I, don't understand..." Ophis blinked again, then turned her gaze toward my shoulder. "How did you do that?"

"Oh, the snake currently coiled on my shoulder?" I asked. "Ah, elementary, my dear Ophis, but I don't know either."

-snake sounds, because I don't know what sounds they make-

-slither, slither-

Coiled lazily around my left shoulder for some odd reason was the snake. Though its scales were a gleaming pitch black, one of its eyes was crimson, and the other was purple.

-hsssssss-

It then flicked its tongue, making a small hissing sound. that carried the faint echo of a giggle.

"So... I'm glad that you're here, but how...?" This wasn't something that happened in canon, so my mind raced as it pieced clues together until I started to understand.

Ophis, however, reached out and gently tapped the snake's snout with a finger as the snake nuzzled into her touch. "It… became real."

"You mean this wasn't supposed to happen?" I raised an eyebrow.

"No." Ophis shook her head slowly.

I got it.

It should've vanished, but after being 'submerged' in my soul, it stuck around and became physical.

I just have to find out the inner details to create the perfect picture.

"You seem to know how it happened." Ophis said.

"Yup, looks like it's sticking around with me." I nodded. "I've got the boost in power, though it looks like I'll also have another little familiar partner with me."

"I, see." Her gaze lingered on it, as there was a faint curiosity in her tone. "Maybe it liked you. Or… maybe my power and yours combined turned it physical."

The snake made a pleased hiss, rubbing against her face.

"Guess even Infinite Dragons can't predict everything." I chuckled. "Still, not complaining. She's cute."

"I, get it now." Ophis looked at me again with a smile on her face. "…Staying here was the correct decision. You are interesting."

"Why, thank you," I said, mock-bowing. "I try my best to entertain."

The snake lifted its head flicking its tongue outwards.

"Alright, little one," I said, tapping its chin. "Let's get you a name."

"Hmm. How about Daisuke?" I thought for a moment.

-hiss!-

The snake hissed, unimpressed.

"Daidara?"

-hiss!-

Another hiss.

"Daitarō?"

-hiss!-

An even louder hiss.

"Dante Alghieri?"

"Donatello?"

"Dwight D Eisenhower? Don't you think he also has the will of D?"

-...-

The snake started to ignore me...

I groaned. "You're picky."

Ophis tilted her head, clearly observing this nonsense with mild intrigue as I went through the entire list of D names I've got.

None pleased this bloody snake.

"Fine. How about… Ophelia... Or... Fi." Finally, I sighed and smirked.

The snake stopped moving, flicked its tongue, and curled snugly around my neck like a scarf.

"Alright…Fi it is, then."

Sike, it's actually Fi, for Fiona, from Burn N*tice.

Fi hissed quietly, content.

[A splendid familiar, host. If you bring it in the Labyrinth, we could feed our enemies to it!] Asterion cheered.

What a good freakin' idea, Asty.

[Thanks, and what did you call me---]

With that, I sat back and relaxed, as even the new arrival in my life couldn't break my calm.

But right as I was chillin'

-flash x2!-

Teleportation circles with the Gremory and Phenex family crests on them popped up in my backyard.

---And out came Rias Gremory, and Ravel Phenex. Both here for me.

"Daichi-kun! I've just got the new volumes of Half-Iron Exorcist, and V.Blue Woman! We can read them together~!" Rias chirped as she was still wearing her pajamas(I will not complain)

"Ahem. Daichi-san. I figured my earlier behaviour was slightly unbecoming, so I would like to make it up to you..."

""Huh?""

---I won't say that sparks flew. But I will say that it was like electrical currents that signalled tension between two people---er, Devils were traveling through the air.

'Huh. Isn't that the same thing?'

Oh, well.
