Chapter 75 - Chapter 75: Hunting (Final Part)

Good morning, I just wanted to tell you one thing.

I didn't know how to do the two fights in this conflict; it was hard for me, and I didn't know how to express myself properly. I feel like it wasn't very good, and I've tried to correct it, but I feel like it's worse or I can't fix anything.

I think I'm bad at writing action scenes, but I do my best; I just can't get what I want. For example, the fight between Dante and the Chimera was supposed to be longer, as was Arthur and Trini's against Shiki.

But it's as it is, and I don't feel like I can improve or fix anything else. And please, give the fic a review so I can get a star rating on the cover; that's all I can ask for.

I hope you understand my dilemma and that you enjoy the chapter as much as you can.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the main hall of the base, Shiki can be seen launching several energy attacks at Arthur, destroying him by spinning his Haki-infused spear.

Shiki didn't want to admit that he was a little afraid of facing that spear, as it's too long. When it arrives, it might try to cut him down before he can attack, so he had to wait for the right moment.

Shiki: "Lion Threat: Imperial Palace of Liquidation Land," he said, generating lions around Arthur made from the palace's parts.

Arthur: "Defense: Impenetrable Wall," he said, rapidly spinning his spear in all directions, destroying the lions Shiki generated. He then took the spear with one hand, pointing it at Shiki.

Shiki: "Not so fast," he said, generating two energy attacks in the shape of an X in Arthur's direction.

Arthur: "Final: King's Thrust," he said, moving quickly in a straight line, stabbing everything in front of him, destroying Shiki's attack in the process.

Shiki protected himself from Arthur's attack using Haki, and as he received the blow, he was violently sent backward, but thanks to his fruit, he didn't fall.

Arthur lunged forward again, attacking again.

Arthur: "Final: Anti-Shield," he said, placing the tip of his spear under his swords and raising them, quickly readjusting his spear and stabbing him in the chest.

Shiki responded by jumping and flying through the air, dodging the attack. At that moment, a loud gunshot was heard a little far away, but neither of them could take it too seriously.

Shiki: "Leon: Thousand Cuts, Canyon," he said, slashing with his leg swords.

Arthur took a piece of metal that had been severed between the two attacks and turned it into a shield, protecting himself from all the blows.

Once the attack was over, the shield was useless, so he threw it to the ground. Doing so with little time meant he couldn't properly reassemble the metal components, leaving it unstable and easily broken.

Shiki was about to say something, but his eyes widened in panic, only to turn and block a larger-than-normal bullet with both swords. The impact abruptly knocked him backward.

Arthur took advantage of the opportunity by running to where Shiki was heading and, when he intercepted him, raised the tip of his spear.

Arthur: "Final: Quillotine," he said, lowering his spear with the intention of slicing Shiki in two.

Shiki barely managed to deflect the bullet to the other side and block Arthur's attack from above with his swords, sending him tumbling down.

Once on the ground, he slashed, repelling Arthur's spear, causing Arthur to move backward.

Shiki took the opportunity to look where the shot had come from, only to see Trini aiming the anti-tank rifle. From this, he could only conclude that Scarlet had been defeated by the blonde woman.

If he stayed still, he would be easy prey for the woman; on the ground, Arthur would attack him, and in the air, it would be easier for Trini. All he had left to do was try to eliminate the sniper, but he saw that Arthur was standing in the way, so this could be Shiki's most difficult confrontation.

* On the Other Islands *

The forest could be seen being devastated by two forces of nature that no one outside could stop.

Dante was seen receiving a blow with both arms in an X shape and being thrown far away against a mountain, only to be followed by the Chimera, who struck him.

Dante: "That's all your strength; even a baby could hit harder," he said with blood in his mouth.

Dante had blood on most of his face, his nose and mouth were bleeding, and he had several cuts and bruises on his body.

The Chimera wasn't much different, bleeding equally from his nose and mouth, with cuts and bruises on his body, except that his eye socket was closed and blood was coming out.

The beast made three cuts on the mountain with its claws, cutting it into three pieces. One of these was aimed at Dante, so he just dodged it by stepping to the side.

He saw the Chimera coming on all fours with its horns ready to impale him again. He moved to the side, dodging it, but the beast stopped behind Dante, raising its two hooves and attempting to strike him.

Dante dodged, hunching his back backward, grabbing the chimera's horse-like feet with both hands, lifting it up, and slamming it into the ground, damaging its feet with his hands.

The chimera stood as if its horse-like legs weren't already half-broken. Only to try to stab Dante again with its horns.

Dante: "Those horns are really bothering me now; I think it's time to get rid of them." He said, performing an acrobatic spin, dodging the attack, and landing on the chimera's back.

Dante quickly grabbed the beast's horns and, using them, drove its head into the ground, shattering the ground with the blow.

Taking advantage of the seconds he had before the Chimera tried to do anything again, Dante, using all his strength and Haki, placed a foot on the Chimera's head and in two seconds broke the two horns on its skull.

The beast, with a great cry, turned around and, taking advantage of Dante's bad position, delivered a blow to its side, blocking its arm and sending it crashing to the ground, destroying much of the terrain.

Once the situation and the smoke in the area had calmed down, only the Chimera was seen, with no sign of Dante. Only for the Chimera to receive a kick to the chin.

Dante was underground, having moved through the cracks in the ground to reach his opponent.

Dante took the opportunity to kick the Chimera in the face, sending it face-first into the ground, but with a spin in the air. Still holding one of the two horns, he buried it in its neck with Haki. Before it could do more, he saw the creature's claws heading for its heart, so he kicked away, sending them both tumbling backward.

The Chimera, despite having a horn piercing its neck, missed its spine, and since it was still buried, it's not bleeding enough to cause it to bleed to death anytime soon.

Dante: "Well, let's get this over with." He said as he dodged the claws that tried to stab him by moving his torso to the side.

Taking advantage of the position, he grabbed the beast's arm and, with a knee to the elbow, shattered half of its arm, rendering it useless. Using his arm as a grip, he jumped and hit its knee, causing it to crouch. Once on the ground, he punched the creature in the chin, stunning it for a few seconds.

Dante: "System," he said aloud.

System: [Understood], I hear in his head, so he extends his open hand, and in a flash, the fully armed Fusion Sword appears on his arm.

Stepping firmly on the ground, he slashes horizontally at the chimera, severing its head, killing it instantly.

With his opponent now dead, Dante relaxes, clutching the arm that received the attack and then looking at the wound on his chest that was still bleeding.

Dante: "That attack reminded me a bit of Whitebeard's last attack the last time I faced him, only a little weaker, in the sense that it only broke a little, not the whole thing." He says, then begins to check his pants. "I think I have some bandages around here." Since he doesn't find any in his pants, he checks his underwear. "Yes, they are here, in the safest place." He says, then begins to soften his chest.

All we know is that there are about 30 women who wouldn't agree with what Dante said.

* Back with Arthur and the rest *

Shiki could be seen dodging Arthur's ambushes left and right, while Arthur remained behind Trini's position.

Arthur could only move on the ground, scuttling through the rubble and moving erratically to avoid being easily shot.

Arthur: "Attack: Holy Thrusts," he said as he executed multiple simultaneous thrusts, all of which Shiki had to block. He then moved his body to dodge another bullet that grazed his head by a few centimeters, giving him a small wound on his cheek.

Shiki: "If this keeps up, eventually that damn thing will get me in the face," he thought as he moved away from Arthur.

Instead of going to where Trini was, he decided to fight while staying behind Arthur the entire time, since that way he couldn't see him, and if he fired, he would kill his comrade in the process.

Once in position, they both focused on attacking and repelling each other with swift slashes, keeping them on an even level.

Trini, seeing this, knowing she could only shoot through Arthur, strapped her AT back on, drew her pistols, and trotted out to where the two were fighting.

The two were deep in the exchange when Shiki noticed Trini had moved close to him. He looked away, seeing her pointed guns imbued with Haki, not far from his position.

Shiki could only quickly deflect Arthur's spear and use his other sword to intercept the shots.

Arthur, seeing his opportunity, tried to thrust his spear into Arthur's chest, but Shiki managed to move it, causing it to enter his shoulder.

With that, Arthur dragged Shiki a few steps forward, colliding with a rock pillar. He was about to swing his spear to cut him in half. Shiki tries to kick/stab him straight in the heart, which he wasn't going to avoid, so he drops the spear and jumps back.

Shiki felt under pressure; he couldn't beat these two. They had enough synergy to make him unable to do anything.

Taking advantage of the fact that he was on a piece of loose earth, Shiki pointed a finger at the sky, and Arthur flew off, piece and all. Since he could control the levitation of the entire island, he could do it with small pieces as well, but they had to be earth; another object would have to touch it with his hand first.

Seizing the opportunity, he removed the spear from his shoulder and launched himself at Trini. Trini remained calm, his expression indifferent, something that was driving Shiki mad.

Heading on, he slashed at her; Trini dodged it easily. He slashed again, but Trini dodged it again. He tried again, again, and again, but each slash was dodged quite easily.

Shiki, his eyes already red, seeing that no attack was hitting his opponent, leaped into the air and attacked from the air with his legs.

Shiki: "Leon: Thousand Cuts, Canyon," and with that, thousands of slashes headed for Trini.

She, still completely calm, knowing that the bald, rudder-headed man would do just that, performed a display of body movement that a processional dancer would envy.

One step to the right, two to the left, one back, a diagonal jump to the right, a diagonal jump to the left, and a backflip.

And with that, Trini stood in the same place as when Shiki began his attack, raising both hands like an Olympic gymnast.

Shiki couldn't feel angry; his mouth was open at such a use of Observation Haki. Not even his former pirate captain, Rocks, had the level of Haki that Trini has. With that, he realized how futile it was to fight her directly.

To his astonishment, he didn't react in time to see Arthur already above him, spear in hand, slashing downwards.

Shiki only managed to move so that his entire body wouldn't be cut, as the spear managed to make a cut all over his body, neither serious nor superficial.

At this, he generated several more lions that attacked Arthur, which he destroyed using his spear as if it were a guard battle. Using the kinetic energy of his movements, he launched an energy attack, which hit Shiki square in the abdomen.

The attack damaged him considerably, but not enough to stop him. Faced with a desperate situation, he positioned himself strategically and raised both swords, bringing them down in a slash.

Shiki: "Lion: Double Teeth." With that, and using all his strength, he generated an energy blast that cut the island in two.

Thus, the island was divided into two pieces. On one side was Trini, and on the other was Arthur. Seeing this, Shiki smiled, blood dripping from his mouth.

With a finger, he pointed at Arthur and brought it down, causing the piece of the island he was on to fall to the ground.

Arthur: "Damn," he quickly said before disappearing from sight.

Shiki, ready, launched himself at Trini again, but this time with land lions in his direction. This worried her a little. She didn't mind getting hurt, but she was in a certain condition that prevented her from doing so. She removed the AT from her back, ready to use it when a voice was heard.

???: "Not so fast, jerk," was heard in the distance. Shiki looked only to see an energy attack hurtling towards his position.

He had to block it with both swords, being pulled away and thus canceling his previous attack, saving Trini.

Trini: "You're late, moron," he said to the person who had just arrived.

???: "Well, the hero always arrives at the last minute," he said, stopping in his tracks not far from Trini, a giant sword perched on his shoulder.

This was none other than Dante; he had already arrived at the island but had gone to place the flying ship in a strategic position to use it for escape. Besides, he hadn't acted, seeing that Arthur and Trini were doing well, but with the loss of one, he had to get down to business.

The two looked at each other and nodded. With that, Dante ran off to where Shiki was. Arthur wasn't worried, as there was an island beneath it, so it must be there.

Seeing that Shiki was already ready to receive the attack, Dante just smiled, knowing the plan was ready.

Using Conqueror's Haki directed at Shiki, he attacked violently. His opponent was barely able to respond to his attacks.

Shiki: "So you've finally shown up; it's a shame I didn't get to see your comrades die before you arrived," he said, forcing a smile.

Dante, with a kick using all his strength and Haki, smashed a point on the island, causing it to begin to crumble and break slightly.

Dante: "Sadly, this is a short meeting, Golden Lion, since I'm psychic and I see death in less than a minute," he said, doing an exaggerated upward jump to attract attention.

Shiki: "What?" he said, and at the same moment, he was shot in the stomach by the AT, piercing his body, nearly destroying it on impact.

Dante: "All yours, Arthur," he said, using geppo and soru to punch him, sending him back to the spot where he had previously kicked the island.

Upon hitting the ground, it was immediately destroyed, causing Shiki to travel to the next island below.

Arthur: "I hear you loud and clear," he said, watching Shiki fall to where he was. He leaped up and stabbed him in the chest. "Final: Raise the flag."

Shiki, now feeling his strength gone, with the spear in his chest, watched Dante fall to where he was, his sword ready to slash.

Dante: "So long," and with that, he slashed downward, severing Shiki's head, killing him for good.

[You have defeated a legendary pirate, Shiki the Golden Lion; his bounty is 100,000,000,000 LP.]

I heard the notification once I hit the ground but couldn't pay much attention to it, as the floating islands began to slowly fall.

Quickly, he grabbed Shiki's head and Arthur like a sack of potatoes, ignoring their complaints, and quickly jumped to where Trini was, using Geppo to grab her and his other companion and rush to the boat.

Once on the boat, he abruptly threw Arthur off, then delicately lowered Trini and took control of the boat, levitating it and avoiding the collision of the land with the sea.

Everything was ready; Dante headed to where Isis was. She was using her foot to make the chair fall slowly into the sea without suffering any damage from the impact.

Seeing her focused on what she was doing, he whistled to get her attention, which she did, causing her to slowly approach and end up inside the boat.

Isis: "Thank you. On the boat, I can give all my fruit on the island, and I won't split it to float in the air."

Dante just nodded at what Isis said, looking at Trini.

Dante: "You feel Sulli and the others around here."

Trini: "Yes, they're already at sea, using Shiki's boat a little far from here to avoid the impact of the collision and the resulting giant waves."

Dante: "Well, once all this is over, we'll have to go to the navy branch to report all this, and while we're at it, claim Shiki's reward."

In the end, all the islands collapsed together, except for the villagers' island next to their town, and formed a super-island, with a giant mountain running almost across its surface.

The villagers were able to safely return to the island on the open sea without losing their homes. We quickly purged the remaining animals and gave them as provisions to the villagers while we went to the branch and brought back other animals to replace those that had died.

We spoke with Maylin to learn about the island's native animals and try to bring them back to repopulate the area left without animals and, by default, provide meat for the village. We were going to use some of the reward money for Shiki to do so.

Once we told the marines to bring Shiki's head, the place went into chaos; in less than 24 hours, everyone on the island knew we had defeated the Golden Lion, something the World Government couldn't do. And in less than 48 hours, there was already a newspaper reporting our achievement. I have no idea how that bird got the news so quickly, but I think a little bird spoke to him and told him about it.

Alden Island fell near the entrance to the Grand Line, so the appearance of pirates in the village is very possible. So I called Kuzan to let him know and prioritize the island, especially because of its IQ. I did warn them, though, not to overuse the island, or else it would make a spectacle of itself.

With that, the last great adventure of the group of heroes ends, allowing them to rest permanently and continue their lives individually, but there was still something left to do.
