"It's Mr Litt." Maro announced, looking at the screen of his phone which he had just fished out from his pocket.
My eyes flung open in shock, and at the same time I felt my heart skip a beat once I heard that it was Leonard, and more than ever I felt ashamed, like one caught in a rebellious act.
He answered it before I could decide whether or not it was wise to let him answer the call, and before I could stop him. The call was on speaker, so I easily heard all that they said without me having to strain my ears.
"Good day, boss." Maro said into the phone, and I stiffened. On a second thought, I realized that there was no way Leonard would know that I was with them since he was still at the office, so I relaxed somewhat. He could be calling for a completely different reason, I told myself.
"Where's my wife?" Leonard asked from the other end, and my eyes which had returned to their usual size flung open again. He sounded angry or was it… worry?
