"Old man, are we going to join the fun?" Yugito Nii asked curiously.

"Of course," Kai said, nodding with a smile. Before she could react, he vanished with a Shunshin no Jutsu.

Yugito was stunned, then pouted and stamped her foot. "Old man, you're prioritizing women over your humanity! Bone-spur kid, you too!"

Her childish complaint echoed through the air. Kai, a smirk playing on his lips, reappeared outside the refugee camp.

He saw a dozen figures in white robes similar to those of the Ōtsutsuki clan, each with sharp horns on their foreheads. The strange appearance gave Kai a sense of familiarity.

"Kinkaku, Ginkaku, you dare cause trouble again? Aren't you afraid of the Fourth Raikage's wrath?" Samui arrived at the camp entrance.

Before she could approach, three Kumogakure ninjas blocked her path.

"Lightning Release: Earth Flow!"

Samui was prepared, quickly forming hand seals. As her feet touched the ground, lightning crackled, surging towards the three ninjas.

The ninjas were taken aback by Samui's ferocity. They tried to retreat, but it was too late. They were struck by the lightning, experiencing temporary paralysis before recovering. However, in the brief moment of distraction, Samui had already broken through their defenses.

Kai's brow furrowed, and he warned, "Careful!"

Bang!

A small figure burst through the dilapidated wooden door of the refugee camp and flew out. Samui caught the child, but her face paled instantly. The child, looking up, had the same sharp horns as the ninjas Samui had just fought.

Samui finally understood Kai's warning. These were child soldiers, relying on underhanded tactics!

In a moment of distraction, the child produced a kunai and aimed for Samui's throat. Samui tried to dodge, but found her feet trapped by two earth-formed hands. She could only watch as the kunai loomed closer.

Facing death for the first time, Samui closed her eyes.

Clang!

The sharp sound of metal clashing and crackling lightning filled the air. Death didn't come, and Samui opened her eyes.

Kai, surrounded by lightning, smiled warmly. "Hey, sesame seed buns are four for a dollar. Want some?"

"I don't understand what you're saying," Samui said, glancing at the wide-eyed child soldier and the stunned guards. She understood now. "Thank you."

Kai rubbed his nose. "Guess that's a generational gap." He looked into the camp. "But I also have to thank these little brats for giving me a chance to play the hero. If you want to repay me, how about a date?"

"Smooth-talking," Samui glared at him. "I don't have time for this. I need to rescue people!"

Kai chuckled, a crackle of lightning incapacitating the child soldier. He grabbed the kunai and threw it into the camp.

Bang!

The door exploded inward, the kunai embedding itself in a post, triggering a chain reaction of explosions.

"Shikotsumyaku: Dance of the Seedling Fern!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Bone spears pierced the camp. The hidden Kumogakure ninjas scattered. Their initial grim expressions turned to fury. The destruction of the camp revealed a lone figure, radiating killing intent.

"Looks like there are quite a few hiding," Kai said, surveying the area. These individuals, like the guards and the child soldier, all had horns. He recognized the characteristic as similar to the infamous rogue ninjas, Kinkaku and Ginkaku.

"Samui, what are you doing? Attacking within the village!" a slender youth with a sinister expression shouted.

"Why?" Kai stopped Samui from explaining, smiling warmly. "Because you're all asking for a beating."

"If you want to play child soldiers, and you can't win, then try a brawl. Take your trash and leave."

Kai grabbed the unconscious child soldier and threw him at the horned youth. The youth was caught off guard, and only a swift intervention from his silver-adorned companion prevented him from being hit.

Their key element had been thwarted by a seemingly insignificant youth. The stark contrast between their expectations and the reality was a slap in the face.

"Samui, he's not from Kumogakure. You dared to bring an outsider in and attack our own people?" the silver-adorned youth said coldly. Unlike his gold-adorned companion, he exuded a cold, snake-like demeanor.

"Kinkaku, Ginkaku, who he is is irrelevant. You attacked our refugee camp while the Fourth Raikage was away. Do you disregard his orders?" Samui said sharply.

Kai's actions had been helpful, saving her and the refugees. But internal disputes within the village were their own business. With Kai being an outsider, alerting the elders could put him and his companions in danger—something Samui wanted to avoid.
