"I'm sure they won't mind," Dodai said, looking at Kai. Samui's lips parted slightly, momentarily speechless.

"Haha, with such a beautiful woman as company, I certainly don't mind," Kai said with a hearty laugh.

"Wow, Old Man, are you being genuine or just pretending?" Yugito quipped, her quick wit clearly honed by her interactions with the tailed beasts.

Kai flicked her forehead. "Little rascal, you're not invited to dinner next time."

"Yeah, don't invite her. Fewer competitors," Son Gokū chimed in.

"She's hindering our showdown. I support your wise decision, Boss," Shukaku added.

The two tailed beasts, previously on Yugito's side, had instantly abandoned their loyalty. If not for their current situation, they probably would have been drooling.

"No, Uncle, I'm sorry! You're the best Uncle, the kindest, most charming, most handsome, most reliable, the safest…"

Yugito clung to Kai's arm, pleading. "When I become jinchuriki, whoever you want me to beat up, I'll beat them up for you…"

The sight of Yugito, heir to the strongest tailed beast weapon, making such a promise for a meal, was shocking.

"Alright, alright, stop clinging to me. You'll shake my old bones apart," Kai said, rolling his eyes. "Just show us the way. I think they're hungry too."

Samui hesitated, then, with Dodai's nod, said, "Follow me. If you dislike the place, I can find you something else."

After Samui and Kai's group left, the injured Anbu captain spoke up. "Senior Dodai, why are we keeping these Akatsuki members? We don't need to treat them with such respect."

"And with the Raikage gone, taking many elite forces to the Land of Iron, and the upcoming jinchuriki transfer preparations, having outsiders in the village seems unwise."

The Anbu exchanged uneasy glances. Only Dodai remained calm. "Did you forget the most important point? Their strength is considerable. A child single-handedly defeated our elite Anbu."

"Captain Dodai, forgive me!" The Anbu captain knelt, begging for forgiveness. His team followed suit.

Dodai scoffed. "This matter is closed. If the Fourth Raikage were here, you'd all be severely punished. Perhaps even thrown into the Thunder God's Hell for training."

The Anbu shuddered at the mention of Thunder God's Hell.

"But don't worry. The Raikage doesn't have time for this now," Dodai said coldly. "The village is currently weak. While the Raikage believes Uchiha Kai and his group wouldn't dare attack Kumogakure…"

"But to be safe, until the Five Kage Summit concludes and the Fourth Raikage returns, these two Akatsuki members who know Yugito's identity must remain in the village. If they leak information about the Two-Tails, we'll have leverage against Akatsuki."

The Anbu captain's eyes lit up. "Captain Dodai, you've thought this through. Holding them hostage will deter Akatsuki from leaking information. We'll release them after the Raikage returns and the Two-Tails is sealed. By then, it will be too late for other villages to act."

"Indeed," Dodai nodded approvingly.

Suddenly, an Anbu rushed up, whispering to Dodai. His face changed, and he barked orders. "Everyone, follow me! Emergency situation! Prioritize gathering information on Uchiha Kai and his group!"

Dodai and the Anbu vanished. If they knew they'd just invited Uchiha Kai into their village, their expressions might have been quite different.

As Samui led Kai and his group towards a secluded older residential area, her expression shifted. A purple lightning flash pulsed from the intricate seal on her wrist as she looked towards the distant mountains.

"Something's wrong? If it's urgent, go ahead. We'll wait," Kai said, sensing a surge of powerful chakra, though it vanished quickly, making it impossible to pinpoint the location.

Samui hesitated, touching the seal on her wrist. "No need. Anything that happens in Kumogakure, Sensei Dodai can handle. Besides, this is Kumogakure. What could possibly go wrong?"

Samui pointed to a dilapidated wooden hut at the end of the muddy path. "This is where I live. Follow me. If you dislike it, I'll find you another place."

Kai looked at the ramshackle hut. The respect shown to Samui by the Anbu and Dodai indicated she held some status. Yet, an elite jōnin, even a less capable one, shouldn't be living in such a place. It resembled a refugee camp.

"Something wrong? This is like a refugee camp. If you mind, I can find you another place," Samui said, seemingly anticipating his reaction. She turned to leave.

"Mind?" Kai gently placed a hand on Samui's shoulder. "With a beautiful woman as company, even a refugee camp is paradise. I like it. But let's discuss changing places later. Your 'refugee camp' seems to be in trouble."

"Trouble?" Samui froze, then rushed off.
