In the royal castle,
King Lachlan was sitting on his throne like a majestic king that he is. He stared at Isla and Julian for a long while before speaking,
"Since I have made the final verdict about the marriage. Tomorrow, send an invitation letter to those family that the king has invited them over for lunch and if they decline, they will face the consequences of going against a royal king".
"Yes your majesty, that will be done before the end of today." Julian said head bow before standing up to leave.
Just as he took two steps, the king spoke again halting his steps
"Also, get the girl to pass the night in the castle, it's an order".
Julian turned to look at the king and bowed deeply.
"Yes your royal majesty, it will be done shortly. " He said calmly before turning around to leave the throne room.
After leaving,
Lady Isla turned to look at the king.
"Your majesty, now that we have form a marriage alliance with those family. What will happen next? " Isla asked with her light red eyes sparkling.
King Lachlan stared at Isla with a raised eyebrow and spoke,
"I know you too well to know that is not what you plan to say. So spill the beans".
Isla was stunned for a brief moment before the corners of her lips curved into a wry smile.
"My king, since you know me too well, how about the chained man that escaped the dungeon? Any news on him?" She questioned him with a raised brow.
Lachlan tried not to snap at her foolish question. The only reason why he hadn't paid more attention on that chained man was because of the fact that one of his sons is interested in a human girl whose family background he was yet to find out which he will soon discover. He knew something was off with that family the moment they stepped foot into their small apartment.
"They are still searching for him and once he Is found, I won't hesitate to behead him and hang his head on the city's gates tower for the people of the kingdom to see". He said menacingly as though he couldn't wait to get his hands on that mysterious chained man.
Isla just stared at him with her red eyes gleaming. It was as if she had heard the most funniest joke ever. It's still a mystery for her that a whole vampire king, a monarch who rules a big kingdom like valtenia couldn't find a mere stranger. The only thing she doesn't know about this chained man was if he is human or a vampire. "My lord, I wish you success in finding him". She said curtly. While Lachlan glared coldly at her.
"Watch the way you speak to the king!" He threatened lowly. But Isla was unfazed. She won't be like her mother who will always follow the King's order at every little chance she gets. She will do as she pleases and no one can stop her. With that thought, she flashed a small smile at the king and bowed.
"Pardon my bluntness, I will leave first". She said with an innocent voice and turned around to leave. The moment she left, King Lachlan summoned chief minister Zarin to the courtroom to discuss about the strategy on finding that man for escaping and the death penalty that will be given to him.

In the Frasers apartment,
Evelyn was laying on the bed lost in thoughts. For some unknown reasons, her mind slowly drifted back to that silver eyes stranger who she presumed had saved her from the vampires that were about to attack her. What would have happened if he had come a little late? Would she have died? Why did he save her life? So many thoughts ran wild in her mind as she kept seeing the image of his silver eyes.
Even if she denies it, she knew deep down, she missed his husky voice, his warmth and the feeling he crepts in her heart that made her heart flutter. Subconsciously, a slow smile crept on her face.
"What are you thinking about that is causing this smile? Are you mocking me?" Lila's cood voice resonated through the room jolting her back to reality.
Evelyn slowly sat up on the bed and stared at her sister who was beet red in anger.
"No, I'm not smiling to mock you. I will never do that". Eve said hastily and worriedly.
"Then why were you smiling? Am I that insignificant? Instead of you to help me figure out a way to get away with the problem I have encountered, here you are smiling as though you are happy about my downfall". Lila pouted as her Sapphire blue eyes turned misty with tears.
Eve quickly stood up and pulled her sister into her embrace, hugging her tightly.
"I'm sorry sis, I didn't mean to smile like that". She said stroking her hair gently.
Lila pulled away and smiled,
"Thank you sis, I know I could always count on you. You are the best sister I could have ever asked for". Lila beamed in joy while Evelyn just nodded and smiled.
"Let's go get some rest before lunch." Eve changed the topic and Lila nodded before she and her sister lay on the bed and covered their bodies with the blankets.
With that, they closed their eyes to sleep.
Inside the couple's room,
Mrs Fraser had a pale look. Her eyes had been swollen and puffy from all the cries she had shed all thanks to her daughter Lila.
"How could her daughter gave gone to the vampire's den?" What will happen now? She mused painfully as she just stared at her husband as though begging him to say something or profer a solution to the new problem they just faced.
"I'm also as shocked and disappointed in Lila as you. At this point, I have no clue what to do?" He said more like a question as if asking for her own suggestion on the deep problem they just faced.
