She felt hurt, her friends had cut ties with her just because she was friends with Rex. What was wrong with them she cant tell. It was already a week and Marie hasn't said a word to her. In that same week, her relationship with Rex deepened and also Jason but his was not as Rex was to her. Tomorrow was Jason's birthday and she was also thinking of what to get for him. Was she right? Maybe she shouldn't have thrown away a relationship of many years for this. But why should she be the one to let go. They say they are trying to protect her but what thy are trying to protect her from, she can't tell. She couldn't concertrate well in class and Jason seemed to have noticed it.
"Hey." she heard his voice immediately the teacher left.
"What?" she asked with a frown.
"Oh please don't bite me." he said acting scared. "Whay happened to you today? The girl who planned on besting me isn't concentrating much as before. Is it because of Rex?" he asked with a smug face.
"I will literally fail if I move out with you. And besides the person you were talking about is almost here." Fiona said looking behind him. Jason didn't dare turn back, maybe he was afraid of him, she couldn't tell. "Hi Rex." she greeted with a smile.
"Can we talk, alone?"
"What is it you wanna tell her that you can't say here. Beside I'm also her friend." he said with a small smile.
"From what I can remember, I never mentioned your name." he said with a look only Jason could tell.
Jason gave a sheepish smile and kept quite.
Rex immediately took Fiona's hand and walked out of the class with her.
"What was that for?" she asked immediately they came out of the class.
"Nothing. I would love to take you out after school." he said with a smile.
"You mean like a date."
"Well, if that's how you see it. I will send you the location. Meet there by 4." he said and walked back into the class. It felt weird, she had never gone on a date before. What was she going to wear? Maybe if she was still friends with Marie, she would have been of help.
When school was over, she walked out of the class into the hallway. She heard Jason's voice at a corner. Who was he talking to? She wanted to walk away but she heard Rex's voice. "Hope they aren't going to fight because of what happened in class." she said as she walked closer.
"Why do you care about her anyway, she isn't your mate." she heard Rex said and she stopped on her track.
"I am yet to find out who my mate is." Jason replied in a playful tone.
'What are they talking about?' She asked herself. She didn't know what it was but she wasn't ready to explain herself for if she eventually gets caught. She thought as she walked home.
When it was almost 4, she got ready. She wore a white kneel length gown with red flowers, a black heels and a red bag. She brought out the necklace and it was visible. And she brought down her hair. She had coil the tip of her hair after school. Was she stupid, she couldn't tell. He wasn't her boyfriend and she was dressed this way for just a friendly date. She applied a little powder on her face and red lipstick on her lip. She had told her mom that she was going out with a friend. Immediately she got out, she saw Rex in a car packed in front of her house. She was surprised, she was expecting to meet him at the location. Immediately she took a step, Rex came out of the car and held her hand.
"Why are you here?" she asked as she walked with him into the car.
"What do you think? That I would let this pretty girl walk all the way down to Quiston?"
She was speechless, when did he turn into a sweet talker? She walked into the passager seat and Rex got into the car and drove off.
When they got there, Rex came down of the car and held her hand out of the car. It was a Beach close to the outskirt of town. It was a Thursday and only few people could be seen. Fiona walked slowly ad she enjoyed the cool breeze.
"You like it here?"
"Yes I do." she said as the wind blew her hair.
"There is something I wanna show you."
"What is it?"
"Just come and see it yourself." he said as he dragged her towards the right side of the beach. A horse was standing in front of a building and a man beside it.
"Have you been on a horse before?" he asked looking at her.
"Not really." she said
"Then you will be getting into one for the first time." he said as he paid the man and got onto the horse. He held her hand as he dragged her up to sit in front of her.
"Since its your first time, I won't go too fast." he said as the horse started galloping away. She looked at him and smiled. This was it, this was the kind of feeling she was longing for. She closed her eyes, inhaling the fresh air as the horse galloped a little faster. After riding for sometimes, they came back to the wood like structure. Rex got down first as he stretches his hand towards her. "May I? My lady." he said with a slight bow. She smiled and took his hand and he brought her down.
"Who would have thought you were such a gentleman." she said as they walked into the building. There was a wooden chair enough for the two of them at the left hand of the structure. Other things were but she didn't take notice of them. Rex and Fiona sat down on the chair and they continued their discussion.
"Do you think so?" he asked with a smirk.
"No, I know so."
"So what if this gentleman ask you for a real date, what would be your answer? He asked facing her.
Her heart raced, what was that, was he asking her out? "W..hat do…..you mean?"
"I mean, I like you a lot. Will you be my girlfriend?"
