Upon hearing this, Loki smiled contemptuously. "Ha, before a god, you should kneel!"
"We don't have such rules here, no matter who you are," Nick Fury replied firmly.
"I'm Loki, Prince of Asgard, the true heir of Jotunheim..." Loki began to finish his lengthy title when Nick Fury's phone began to ring incessantly. "Ahem, the orthodox king, the god of mischief... I'm in the middle of telling my story, whether you're listening or not!"
The awkward tension in the room was palpable.
In the next moment, battle broke out. Loki, tapping into his Frost Giant bloodline, unleashed a torrent of icy power, freezing everything in his path.
And with that, the scene ended.
"This... so this is what happened? By the way, people are still using bows and arrows? Are you living in primitive times, or the Middle Ages?" Tony Stark couldn't help but jab, his sharp tongue never holding back.
"You don't understand," Nick Fury retorted. "Barton's skill with a bow and arrow surpasses anyone else's! Using a gun would only limit his ability!"
"But he's not exactly courageous, is he? A single flash of lightning made him shoot his arrow, which led to all this mess," Tony Stark added with a grin.
"Impossible," Nick Fury insisted. "He wouldn't have released the string just because of a thunderstorm. There must be another reason."
He couldn't fathom that Hawkeye Barton, one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most elite agents, would make such a mistake out of fear.
"I refuse to believe Barton would make such a basic error," Nick Fury added confidently. "If the video had been longer, I think we would have seen more specific details. I'm certain there's something more to it."
As he spoke, Nick Fury felt frustrated with how little the video revealed. He instinctively suspected someone might be manipulating things behind the scenes.
"Anyway, you should make sure that bow-shooting kid learns his lesson and never points an arrow at a prince again. And speaking of that hair of his—where did he get it? That's some serious shampoo he's using!" Tony Stark shifted the conversation, now more interested in Thor's hair than anything else.
"I'll make sure Barton doesn't make the same mistake again," Nick Fury said, glancing at Tony Stark. "And if I ever meet Thor, I'll ask him why his hair is so soft. Maybe he's just naturally gifted?"
Nick Fury wasn't jealous at all about Thor's hair. Not at all... or was he?
"However, there's one thing that's bothering me," Nick Fury continued. "Why did Thor die so easily? This doesn't make sense!"
Tony Stark raised an eyebrow. "I thought it was going to be some kind of special arrow, but it seems like it was just a regular one. Even a common person would have a chance of surviving that shot. But he's a god—how could he just die from something so mundane?"
Nick Fury frowned deeply. Something about this didn't add up. Thor couldn't have gained his reputation without being strong—after all, he was one of the Avengers' core members. It seemed utterly ridiculous for him to be killed by a mere arrow.
"There are too many unanswered questions," Nick Fury said thoughtfully. "For instance, why was Thor so fragile? This couldn't possibly be a fake, because I tested his blood in another timeline, and it proved that he's over a thousand years old. He's definitely not a normal human. Yet, he's barely stronger than a regular person, and he doesn't show any of the legendary power Thor is known for!"
"And what about Mjolnir falling from the sky? I thought maybe something happened to Asgard—maybe it was attacked by the Dark Elves or the Frost Giants. Perhaps Thor was exiled to Midgard, and now we're dealing with some sort of revenge plot or family drama!" Nick Fury speculated.
"It's a solid theory, and it fits well with the kind of cheap plots Hollywood writers love!" Tony Stark agreed with a smirk.
"...But the appearance of Loki and the Asgardian army later disproves that theory. Clearly, there must be another reason Thor ended up on Earth. It doesn't seem like Asgard was in some kind of internal conflict—after all, Loki personally led an army to avenge him!" Nick Fury continued.
Tony Stark nodded. "There's a lot to this mystery, but a few things seem clear. First, Loki is definitely a man, and those so-called 'three princesses' are probably just Luo Chen's weird sense of humor!"
Tony still couldn't understand why Luo Chen gave people such ridiculous names, but it wasn't the first time he'd seen it.
"Also, do these Asgardians live in the Middle Ages or what? I didn't expect to see soldiers with spears in the 21st century!" Tony Stark grumbled.
"That's because they're from a magical realm, not like the army we're used to," Nick Fury replied. "Maybe their spears shoot energy beams or something."
"Well, that's possible. But since Asgard can shake the Nine Realms, I'm sure they have other tricks up their sleeves. If that's all they're showing us, it would only be impressive to primitive cultures, not to someone like Luo Chen!" Tony Stark shrugged. "Don't overthink it. Unless Luo Chen mentions something later, we won't know for sure."
Just as they were talking, another entry appeared in the diary.
"After reviewing again, I realized that every version of Loki loves to pretend. He's just like the second pillar! Saying the most pretentious things, and getting beaten up the hardest. Hahaha, I can't wait to see the famous scene of this 'weak god' in person someday. Hahaha!"
Nick Fury glanced at the entry, chuckling. "Loki really does love to put on a show," he said, shaking his head with a smile. "Anyway, forget it. I have to leave now. As for your father's things, I'll send them over!"
"If you have any other thoughts, make sure to contact me," Nick Fury added before walking out.
