"Gods? Gods of Asgard?"
Gwen stared at the video module that had suddenly appeared in the diary. She watched as Thor was struck down by a single arrow.
A huge question mark hung over her head. The legendary god, and that's it?
No wonder Mr. Luo wanted to complain. What a weak god—truly a weak god.
On the other hand, Loki didn't appear as weak. In fact, he seemed evil and handsome.
The only thing that really stood out to Gwen was Thor's smooth, shiny hair. It was almost outrageous.
"If I ever get the chance, I'll ask him how he keeps his hair so nice!" Gwen thought, a bit envious. Every girl appreciates beauty, and hair is an important part of one's charm.
Through Luo Chen's diary and the video, she also saw a glimpse of the darker side of this world. It felt like she had opened a door into a new reality—the "August 13" world of the New World.
"Will I really become a Spider-Woman someday?" Gwen thought, feeling a little excited. The Spider-Woman mentioned in Luo Chen's diary sounded incredibly cool.
Meanwhile, Luo Chen had no idea how much impact the video he uploaded had on Nick Fury and Tony Stark. He was still immersed in his own happiness.
"The host has completed an update of the video diary. You have earned a silver draw!"
"Would you like to draw now?"
"Of course!" Luo Chen responded immediately, without hesitation.
Suddenly, a large turntable appeared before him, spinning rapidly. As it spun, options appeared one after another at such speed that even Luo Chen could only catch brief glimpses of them.
After a few moments, the turntable came to a stop, and the lottery result was revealed.
"Congratulations to the host! You have drawn the 'Superman Magical Body (Primary)'! Would you like to integrate it now?"
When Luo Chen saw the result, he was overjoyed. This silver lottery was truly a blessing.
As everyone knows, Superman has two fatal weaknesses: kryptonite and a lack of magic defense. While his physical defense is almost invincible, his ability to defend against magic is either non-existent or negligible in comparison. This made him vulnerable, especially in a world full of powerful magic users.
But in this Marvel universe, he didn't need to worry about kryptonite since it didn't exist here. The real problem, however, was magic.
And there were plenty of powerful beings in this world with magical abilities—such as the Ancient One and Odin.
This was why Luo Chen wasn't particularly afraid of Thanos, but felt wary of figures like the Ancient One. Thanos might be powerful, whether through his own strength or his fleet, but his attacks were physical in nature. For someone with a Superman steel body, this posed little threat.
On the other hand, Ancient One and Odin were masters of magic, their powers far beyond what Luo Chen had currently attained. To face them, Luo Chen would have to be more cautious.
This is one of the reasons why he had chosen to stay low-profile.
Now, however, this magical body would fill in that last gap in his defenses.
Of course, there were many types of Superman templates across different timelines—some more powerful than others. The magic-enhanced Superman wasn't the strongest, and in fact, compared to other Superman variations, it was quite ordinary in every aspect except magic. But for Luo Chen, this template was the perfect fit.
Other variations, like Silver Superman, Gold Superman, Doomsday Superman, Dimensional Superman, Quantum Superman, Mechanical Superman, Supreme Small Superman, and God of Power Superman, all had their advantages. But none of them were as crucial to Luo Chen's growth as the Magical Superman.
"Integrate now!"
Luo Chen declared immediately, and in an instant, a ball of light merged into his body.
He felt an overwhelming transformation sweeping through his entire being. The process was intense, but after a while, it was complete.
This sensation was unlike anything he had ever felt. It was as though every cell in his body had undergone a profound evolution.
As this fusion took place, Luo Chen felt an unprecedented surge of power coursing through him—not purely physical power, but something deeper, more mystical.
The world around him shifted in subtle ways. Through the knowledge imparted by the system, he realized that his biggest weakness had been addressed. His magical defense ability had increased by at least tenfold, though it still couldn't compare to his physical defenses, which had been completely reborn after months of exposure to the sun.
Furthermore, magical energy began to emanate from every cell in his body, spontaneously generating from within him.
And the best part? His magic defense ability and magical power could continue to grow simply by basking in the sun.
This Superman template was incredibly convenient. Whenever in doubt, just bask in the sun—there was nothing the sun couldn't solve.
With this, another major issue was resolved. In the Marvel universe, mages typically needed to borrow magical power from dimensions, such as from Mephista.
Many of these Mephistas were ancient entities created at the dawn of Earth, only to be driven to other dimensions after many wars, where they became the Weikang Mephistas.
Ordinary mortals couldn't access magic unless they borrowed it. For instance, the typical white mage borrows power from Weissant, while black mages often borrow power from Mephista in various dimensions.
But borrowing power comes at a cost. It must eventually be repaid, and the debt can be deadly.
Ancient One, however, represents a rare case of someone who only borrows but doesn't repay—a thief who steals from the Mephistas and attacks their weakened forms.
Luo Chen, on the other hand, didn't need to steal or deceive anyone. His magic came from within himself, directly from the sun. As long as he could bask in its light, his magic would continue to grow, constantly becoming stronger.
He was a true "Son of the Sun."
Moreover, after integrating the magical body, even though it was only the Primary version, Luo Chen's magical aptitude improved significantly. He could now better understand the mysteries of magic.
The only issue was that he didn't yet know any specific magical skills. He could only develop simple applications based on his increasing magical power.
Two paths lay before him: one was to go to Kamar-Taj to find the Ancient One and learn various magic applications from her, and the other was to continue waiting, hoping to unlock more advanced magical knowledge through the diary system.
