Chapter 66 - Thor Dies, The Army of Asgard Arrives

Both Nick Fury and Tony Stark stared at the new model on the screen, their faces a mixture of confusion and curiosity. Some speculated what it might be, but no one was entirely sure.

If this was really a video of Hawkeye Barton shooting Thor, it would be catastrophic. Previously, they had only been able to deduce and analyze potential scenarios based on Luo Chen's words. But nothing beats seeing it unfold before their eyes.

Realizing this, they couldn't help but click on the video. The scene opened with a brightly lit base, surrounded by massive thunderstorms and dark clouds. Inside, a group of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were focused on Mjolnir, conducting tests on the mysterious weapon.

"At this point, all we know is that it's extremely powerful and definitely an alien object," reported Hawkeye Barton, explaining the situation to Nick Fury.

"Electromagnetic waves, neutrons, Vita radiation—everything's off the charts," he added.

As the camera shifted, the scene outside the base took a dangerous turn. A S.H.I.E.L.D. agent on duty was suddenly knocked down by a figure, and distant thunder echoed ominously.

"It doesn't sound like a good sign," Nick Fury said, his eyes narrowing at the low-hanging clouds. "A storm is definitely coming."

"That's how it was all night," Hawkeye Barton replied. "This artifact has a temper. And no one's able to lift it—not even Jason, who does CrossFit."

Nick Fury remained resolute. "If an object this powerful goes missing, someone will come looking for it. I just hope they're an ally."

Nick Fury's instincts were spot on. Though he didn't know it was a god searching for the weapon, he correctly deduced that anyone powerful enough to lose such an artifact would have the means to retrieve it.

In the blink of an eye, an intruder had already breached the base, knocking down multiple agents.

"Fury, it looks like your S.H.I.E.L.D. agents aren't doing so well!" Tony Stark commented dryly, watching the unfolding chaos.

Nick Fury shot back, "Do you really think that's an ordinary person? That's a god—Thor, from legend! My agents weren't recruited to fight against gods. You need to understand that."

In the video, the thunderstorm raged as Thor, with his iconic long, blonde hair and striking blue eyes, approached Mjolnir. Hawkeye Barton observed from a distance, setting his bow to take the shot.

"He's getting close to the hammer," Hawkeye said over the comms. "I have him in my sights. Do you want me to shoot, sir?"

"Not yet," Nick Fury replied, his voice steady. "I want to see this play out."

Thor reached out to lift Mjolnir, his figure radiating with power. Hawkeye, momentarily awestruck, remarked, "Phil Coulson wasn't exaggerating. He really does have amazing hair."

But just as Thor was about to touch the hammer, Hawkeye couldn't contain himself any longer. "Fury, don't miss this chance—it might never come again!"

Nick Fury gave a sharp command, "Not yet!" But before the words left his mouth, a flash of lightning illuminated the sky, and Hawkeye loosed his arrow.

The arrow struck Thor, knocking him to the ground.

"Dammit, Barton, I told you to stand by!" Nick Fury barked.

Hawkeye, now surrounded by agents who had raised their guns, quickly raised his hands in surrender. "I swear, I didn't shoot! I didn't launch it!"

Nick Fury surveyed the scene, his eyes moving from Thor, who lay motionless, to Hawkeye, who looked genuinely shocked.

"But your arrow shows a different story," Fury said, his voice a mix of frustration and disbelief.

The scene shifted to a prison cell, where Hawkeye Barton sat, stunned. "It's impossible. I never miss. I didn't shoot on my own!"

Phil Coulson's voice came through the intercom. "What happened to the intruder?"

"Dead," Nick Fury replied gravely. "If the blood test results are accurate, he's nearly a thousand years old—he's not from Earth."

The scene changed again. It was daylight now, and the base in New Mexico was in ruins. Phil Coulson had just returned from buying coffee when he felt the ground tremble beneath him. He looked around in disbelief as everything in the car—coffee, sunglasses, paper—floated into the air.

In the distance, the Bifrost erupted in a surge of light, creating a meteorological storm of terrifying proportions. As Coulson got out of the car, he saw a massive army slowly advancing toward the base. Through the smoke, he could make out ten enormous warriors clad in ancient armor, slowly marching forward.

"My God, there are monsters coming!" Coulson muttered, his voice full of awe.

"Does it look like Earth?" Nick Fury's voice crackled through his earpiece.

"Maybe... but it looks more like Middle-Earth," Coulson replied, his gaze fixed on the approaching army.

Then, amid a burst of triumphant music, Loki appeared—wearing his battle armor and sporting a large helmet adorned with two prominent horns. His face was unmistakable.

As the Asgardian army moved forward, they assumed a spear-wielding formation, preparing for battle. Meanwhile, Nick Fury stood at the front, his arms crossed as he confronted the approaching army.

"Need directions, gentlemen?" Fury asked with a smirk. "It seems like you're lost."

The tension between the two sides was palpable, the air thick with anticipation. It seemed that a battle was imminent.
