Chapter 296: A Millennium Dream

Tianxing Academy

Now the foremost academy on all of Douluo Star, Tianxing Academy is where countless aspiring soul masters dream of studying. Yet, today's Tianxing Academy is a far cry from what it was a millennium ago, with admission standards stricter than ever. Only those with exceptional talent whether innate soul power or unique martial soul potential are granted entry. While there are age restrictions for the former, the latter focuses on potential; any soul master who demonstrates a unique spark stands a chance of being accepted, though such cases are exceedingly rare.

A thousand years have passed, yet Ye Wen has retained his position as head of Tianxing Academy. No one on Douluo Star today knows the academy's headmaster by name, only referring to him as "Tianxing Douluo." But everyone is certain he's no ordinary titled Douluo Tianxing Douluo is the Douluo Star's "Douluo," not merely a simple rank.

How could they be so sure? The teaching staff of Tianxing Academy is comprised entirely of God rank individuals. Their leader's strength must surely eclipse that of a mere titled Douluo.

Ye Wen, in fact, did not keep the existence of God level powerhouses a secret. He let every soul master on Douluo Star know about these supreme entities, which sparked a craze as soul masters across the continent strove to reach the legendary realm of immortality. Unlike the older generation of God Officers who relied on Ye Wen's concentrated resources, these new talents honed Douluo Star's cultivation techniques, making the path to reaching level 100 less elusive, even if it remained difficult.

Meanwhile, Ye Wen's God Officers, both the veterans and newer additions, saw substantial increases in their own strength.

In a secluded forest at the academy's core, a young girl with silver hair and dressed in white sat quietly meditating, the epitome of peace. Her aura exuded the unmistakable power of a deity.

"Ugh…" Suddenly, the girl's face twisted in pain. She halted her meditation, struggling to open her eyes. Her gaze, soft yet dignified, radiated an otherworldly beauty, especially with her long silver hair framing her face like an ethereal goddess. This young girl was Na'er, the girl Ye Wen had taken in and named himself all those years ago.

Na'er's gaze alternated between warmth and majesty before finally settling, merging the two expressions. She rose slowly, her voice tinged with complexity as she murmured, "To think that a mere rest would see a millennium pass… I carefully crafted this human form with the best of talents, but the speed of human cultivation is still astonishing."

She glanced around, contemplating the training and resources that had been poured into her. This human body, reaching the peak of God Officer level, reflected the effort Ye Wen had devoted to raising her as if she were his true daughter. For the Silver Dragon King, originally intended as merely a test subject, these memories brought unexpected feelings.

Her intentions had once been simple she sought an ally. But now, with the influence of her memories, her emotions toward Ye Wen had grown more intricate. "I should meet with him," she resolved inwardly.

Navigating the lush Blue Silver Forest, Na'er arrived at the academy's inner sanctum, where she found the ancient, time worn academy building. Covered in vines that had evolved into spirit beasts, the building had the appearance of a sanctuary revered by soul masters across Douluo Star.

Pushing open the creaky doors, Na'er spotted Ye Wen immersed in writing, pausing only briefly to examine a book. The Silver Dragon King couldn't help feeling a complex mix of emotions. Although this was merely a projection of Ye Wen's divine consciousness overseeing the academy, she sensed a change in Na'er's aura.

Ye Wen soon looked up, his face showing a hint of surprise. The aura he felt was not merely Na'er's; a deeper, layered presence was woven into it. Though he had long expected this day, he still found himself displeased that his 'daughter' was now inhabited by another.

"Silver Dragon King, if you wish to talk, please don't overshadow Na'er. She's my daughter now," Ye Wen said, his commanding presence exuding a subtle pressure. The Silver Dragon King, however, remained unmoved by his words. Beneath her stoic demeanor, she felt something unexpected a faint warmth.

"You have nothing to worry about," she replied, her tone measured. "I'm aware of everything you've done for my avatar, so I won't harm this body." She tilted her head slightly, a rare, innocent gesture. "Shall we talk now?"

The stern look on Ye Wen's face softened. With a wave, he conjured a chair across from him, motioning for her to sit. Interlacing his fingers, he rested his chin on them, looking her straight in the eyes.

"I didn't expect getting a chance to speak with you would be so tricky, Silver Dragon King," Ye Wen began. "I had thought you would approach me before I ascended, not a millennium later. Your injuries must have been far worse than I imagined."

The Silver Dragon King's expression shifted imperceptibly, surprised by Ye Wen's insight into her condition. Though she maintained an impassive façade, a sense of unease stirred within her.

For Ye Wen, seeing Na'er now felt bittersweet she looked both familiar and strangely distant. After a lengthy silence, Ye Wen's patience wore thin.

"Silver Dragon King, why don't you just tell me what you want to talk about?" he asked, exasperated.
