Chapter 295: A New Order for Douluo
Beyond the Sacred Soul Continent, the heart of the Sacred Soul Empire, Ye Wen oversaw the annexation of the Sun Moon Continent and three smaller continents, ultimately completing a world circling voyage that unified the entire Douluo world. While the smaller continents posed little resistance due to their primitive civilizations and were swiftly assimilated, the Sun Moon Continent initially presented more of a challenge. Despite lingering remnants of advanced culture, it had yet to fully restore itself, with feudal conflicts hindering its development. Nonetheless, its combined strength exceeded that of the previous Tian Dou and Xing Luo Empires.
But the Sun Moon Continent had the misfortune of facing the full might of Ye Wen's Sacred Soul Empire. Despite initial skirmishes and intelligence setbacks, the Sacred Soul Empire's overwhelming force soon ensured that the Sun Moon Continent was also enveloped in its domain.
Ye Wen spared the continent's three ruling clans from annihilation. First, these clans hadn't committed major atrocities against their people, and second, each clan possessed a formidable martial spirit that could produce excellent officials. Upon learning that the Sacred Soul Empire was backed by three gods, these three ruling clans immediately swore their loyalty. In the Sun Moon Continent's power structure, subservience to strength was the natural order. With each clan's help, representatives from these families eventually joined the Sacred Soul Council.
Over the years, the Sacred Soul Empire's development continued smoothly, reaching unprecedented heights. Despite now possessing a collection of divine cores, Ye Wen only bequeathed the Shura God, Nine Colored Goddess, and Food God positions. His caution stemmed from the finite volume of faith based energy generated annually on Douluo Star; bestowing too many god positions at once would dilute the divine energy available, hindering progress. Rather than spreading resources thin, Ye Wen chose to focus faith energy on these three god positions for the time being, accelerating their cultivation and establishing a stronger foundation.
As for the Sacred Soul Empire's hierarchy, Ye Wen's adjustments ensured nearly one hundred god officers to safeguard the peace. Among them, the Shura God position was particularly valuable. A god of war, their strength would serve as a backbone for the empire's defenses. After eliminating lingering traps left by the former Shura God within the divine core, Ye Wen decided to grant this position to Dao Ba.
Despite Jian Douluo Chenxin's sword oriented martial spirit and potential as Shura God, Ye Wen's choice wasn't merely sentimental. Already on the cusp of a god king breakthrough, he knew he could oversee Dao Ba's growth directly. Furthermore, Chenxin's legacy as a top tier weapon spirit deserved continuation; thus, Ye Wen encouraged Chenxin to start a family, ensuring the lineage's future.
On another note, since the fall of the Slaughter City, Dao Ba's cultivation of slaughter based faith had stalled. To counter this and better support Dao Ba's role as Shura God, Ye Wen implemented a solution. In this millennium of peace, while the concept of "evil spirits" never took hold as it had in other timelines, Douluo Star still had individuals drawn to dark practices. Rather than condemning or ostracizing them, Ye Wen's laws allowed these individuals to live peacefully as long as they didn't break the law.
Ye Wen also designated a territory for their advancement: a newly formed land called Slaughter Continent, an isolated realm teeming with wild animals and spirit beasts. Without endangering humans, this dangerous land would serve as a haven for those drawn to darker practices or possessing unorthodox spirits. There, they could train and grow through combat, offering Dao Ba ample access to slaughter based faith. This balanced strategy allowed them to harness such unique individuals constructively, leaving wild beasts rather than people as their prey.
As for the two other continents, Ye Wen repurposed them into a herbology and spirit beast cultivation base, providing precious resources and training materials for spirit masters across Douluo Star.
Meanwhile, the Nine Colored Goddess position went to Ye Lingling, whose pure healing powers surpassed those of Ning Rongrong. With the position's full inheritance, Ye Lingling became capable of using the resurrection ability solo. In a show of appreciation, Ye Wen gifted Ning Rongrong a set of six word divine armor, delighting his daughter in law and preserving her role in the Sacred Soul Empire.
The Food God position naturally went to Oscar, Ye Wen's most talented and trusted disciple among food type spirit masters. With Oscar assuming the Food God's mantle, the cultivation of other masters on Douluo Star accelerated.
A New Hierarchical Structure
The Sacred Soul Empire's laws now included provisions for these positions, stabilizing governance across the Sacred Soul Continent and beyond. Although Ye Wen held numerous divine cores, each god position release was calculated, preventing energy from spreading too thinly.
For each god position's duties, Ye Wen established formal laws governing ethical and regulated use of divine energy. Under these rules, the Sacred Soul Empire's hierarchy operated smoothly, and as the population continued to increase, innovative soul technology spread across the land, creating the semblance of a modern society on Douluo Star.
The Final Unified Douluo
Thanks to advancements in soul technology, the Sacred Soul Continent developed overseas routes and completed its unification of Douluo Star.
