Chapter 284 - Chapter 286: Injury and Healing

Chapter 286: Injury and Healing

In hindsight, it was foolish of Asura God to train an assassin like Tang San into a front line warrior; if Tang San had used more underhanded tactics, Ye Wen might have had a harder time dealing with him. As Ye Wen once again formed seals with his hands, fragments of Tang San's shattered soul began to gather before him.

Ye Wen glared at the twisted remnants of Tang San's soul, the look in his eyes hard and unforgiving. The pain from Tang San's final attack was still fresh, a wound etched deep into his own spirit a wound that would take time and divine power to heal, as he had no intention of revealing his Time Gem abilities.

Even as Ye Wen considered this, his suspicions deepened. The potency of Tang San's soul attack was far too extreme. "Asura must have left his dirty fingerprints all over this," he thought darkly. Indeed, without Asura's interference, Tang San would not have been able to wreak such havoc. Ye Wen burned the remaining soul fragments with divine power and released his domain, heading back to the Sacred Soul Empire. Perhaps his beloved Bibi Dong, with her expertise in soul arts, could help heal his wounds.

In the Divine Realm, shock rippled through the gods as Ye Wen emerged victorious, having vanquished the warped Tang San within the domain. The God of Destruction cast an admiring look. "Poseidon, your successor is strong and resilient. He managed to survive that ordeal I wouldn't be surprised if he one day reaches the level of God King."

"Thank you, Lord Destruction," Poseidon replied with a smile. "I'll go assist him with his recovery. Soul injuries, as you know, are challenging to heal even with divine power." After bidding farewell, Poseidon returned to his own palace. The other gods remained, anticipating a follow up from the four ruling God Kings.

The God of Destruction eventually spoke, "After seeing the strength and integrity displayed by this new Sea God Ye Wen, I propose that he inherit the title of Asura's enforcer. Let's begin the voting." The gods below looked on with awe, realizing that this newcomer might soon rank among the Divine Realm's highest enforcers a role only ever granted to those in the uppermost ranks.

Back at the Sacred Soul Empire, Ye Wen returned to the palace, his face pale. Bibi Dong and the others quickly gathered around to support him. Ah Yin approached first. "Brother, are you all right?" she asked with concern.

Supported by his family, Ye Wen shook his head, reassuring them with a slight smile. "Nothing serious. Tang San turned out to be more powerful than expected, but I just need some rest to recover." Bibi Dong, who had profound knowledge of soul arts, recognized that Ye Wen's injuries were not ordinary. Silently, she led him to their chambers.

"Thank you, Dong'er," Ye Wen said, his voice faint.

In response, Bibi Dong pressed her forehead gently against his, transferring her divine power to help soothe his wounds. Though her power wasn't enough to heal him entirely, the warmth eased some of Ye Wen's pain, though he stopped her before she could strain herself further. Seeing his pained expression, Bibi Dong's heart filled with frustration at her own limitations and compassion for his suffering.

"Get some rest," she said softly. "Tomorrow, I'll help you heal again."

"Thank you, Dong'er. Don't worry this injury won't stop me," Ye Wen replied, stroking her back to reassure her.

As they drifted into sleep, Poseidon observed the scene with a smile from his palace in the Divine Realm. "Young love is truly something," he mused. Then, with a thoughtful expression, he added, "The time has come to help resolve an old grudge."

Meanwhile, Ye Wen's mind, though restless with pain, drifted into an unexpectedly peaceful sleep. He felt like he was floating in a warm spring, a strange comfort enveloping him.

"What…is this?" Ye Wen's sharp instincts noted the shift immediately. He opened his eyes, but all around him was only a golden glow.

Suddenly, he sensed a presence behind him a soft, gentle embrace. He could only feel, not see, but the unmistakable forms pressing against him revealed that his unknown companion was a woman. He glimpsed hints of golden and violet wings six pairs on one side, eight on the other.

Ye Wen immediately had a suspicion about their identities, but his body felt strangely weak, resisting any attempt at movement.

"I am not powerless!" he thought, fighting against the restraint. But soon, Ye Wen's pain faded into blissful calm, all traces of Tang San's injury melting away.
