Chapter 283 - Chapter 285: Seize

Chapter 285: Seize

With Tang San's fall, his domain dissipated, leaving only Ye Wen's empty space around them. But Ye Wen did not release his own domain he wasn't about to let Tang San slip away. As he raised his hand, energy gathered.

"Overload: HAH !"

Even the godlike Tang San would be reduced to ashes by this move.

Far off in the Divine Realm, Asura God's face darkened. He wanted to intervene, but a warning glance from the God of Destruction held him back. Asura's long cherished plans were unraveling before his eyes, and his frustration was palpable.

"Remember your position, Asura," the God of Destruction warned, divine power pulsing as he spoke. "You may no longer hold that divine position, but as an enforcer of divine law, you must not break the rules."

Faced with the watchful eyes of the four God Kings, Asura was forced to control himself, suppressing his anger. But the bitter feeling remained, and soon he stood up, leaving the Divine Realm without a word. The gods did not stop him his severed connection to the Divine Realm meant he was no longer bound by its rules. Tang San's fate was of little concern to them; they could always choose a new inheritor for the Asura God title if necessary.

The God of Destruction turned to Poseidon. "Sea God, your successor will soon claim the Asura God's title. When the time comes, ensure he selects a fitting successor for it."

Poseidon nodded, as unbothered as if they were discussing any ordinary event. After all, changes in divinity were not uncommon in the Divine Realm. Even godly titles belonging to God Kings sometimes needed to be passed on. Poseidon had only recently ascended, so he had missed past conflicts, but other gods had amassed a few divine titles in their collections.

While the gods speculated on the succession, a sudden shift happened below: Tang San's physical body disintegrated into ash. But to Ye Wen's shock, Tang San's soul appeared intact, hovering before him.

A chill ran down Ye Wen's spine. His instincts screamed a warning, but Tang San lunged forward, his blood red eyes blazing with hatred.

"Ye Wen!!! Die!!!"

The voice, filled with venom, echoed like the wails of a vengeful spirit. Tang San's gaze held a depth that seemed to drag Ye Wen into a nightmarish hellscape.

"Asura Demonic Rupture Die! Die! Die!"

Tang San poured his entire being into a terrifying soul attack that streaked towards Ye Wen. In the Divine Realm, the gods watched in horror; even those of lesser ranks paled, knowing they would not survive such a direct strike.

The God of Destruction clenched his fist in anger. "That damned Asura! This barely trained boy should never have had access to such a skill. That trickster left a backdoor for himself, no wonder he departed so easily!"

Mortified, he turned to Poseidon, apologizing. "Sea God, I did not anticipate Asura's cowardice. Should the worst happen, I will see to it that your successor is trained again."

Poseidon looked grim but held hope in his gaze, staring fixedly at the screen. "Just watch, God of Destruction. My successor is no ordinary mortal. He can handle this."

All eyes turned to the screen. Ye Wen's mind felt as if it were being torn apart, his thoughts clouded by searing pain. But with a mind stronger than Tang San's, he swiftly regained control and formed a seal with his hands.

"Divine Skill: Blank Moment!"

A brilliant white light flashed from Ye Wen's hands, paralyzing Tang San's vengeful spirit attack mid action.

"Enough!"

With a furious shout, Ye Wen unleashed a pulse of energy, one of his oldest and strongest techniques: Spatial Disruption. In a single stroke, Tang San's already fragile soul shattered, dissipating into nothing.

Ye Wen, drained, dropped to one knee, breathing heavily with relief. The Blank Moment technique a soul skill from a ring sacrificed by the elder Cang had been invaluable. It forced any foe to experience a momentary mental blank, interrupting their focus and actions.

It was a move he had rarely needed, but Ye Wen had never neglected his training, especially in techniques involving soul defense. Without it, Tang San's soul attack would have severely injured or even killed him.

Slowly, Ye Wen stood, surveying the remnants of the fight: a foreboding Asura God essence and the formidable Asura Demon Sword, each radiating dark, volatile energy. His head still throbbed from the strain of Tang San's final attack, but he quickly stowed both prizes away.

His eyes swept over his domain, which, thanks to his instinctive maintenance, had stayed intact. Without it, the aftermath of the fight would have been harder to control. Though he now knew Tang San was gone, Ye Wen shuddered at the idea of Asura pulling any resurrection tricks. Tang San may have been defeated, but his essence as a formidable enemy would haunt anyone if left unchecked.

Better that he ensured there was no chance of a comeback. Tang San, even in another life, was one threat he couldn't risk again.
