Chapter 1 - CHAPTER ONE:

The night was silent as death on Privet Drive, as one by one the lights all started to go out as if all the light was sucked from them as a man in a strange white gown appeared out of thin air. He started to stride down the street each step he took showed his confidence and power. He was closing Into his destination when he stopped by the sound of a cat's meow.

"I should have known you'd be here... Professor McGonagall", the man spoke as he faced the cat who was walking towards him. Till she lept into the air, transforming into a woman who looms in her early 50s.she walked up to the man, sorrow in her steps" Ablus, is it true?" she asked, knowing the answer but hoping she was wrong. The man didn't face her but continued to walk with McGonagall following "I'm afraid the potters are no more" Albus spoke sorrow in his words but not evident on his face "And the boy" McGonagall asked asking for a miracle "he's alive and with hagrid he should be arriving any moment now" Albus spoke as they faced number 20 "you honestly trust hagrid with such a delicate task" she asked ablus shocked "I trust Hagrid with my life" he spoke as if it was a known fact "you can't leave him here with these muggles there vile you've entrusted me with one intrust me with another" she begged the old man "yes McGonagall I did trust you with one as one needs you and the other needs them you'll see it's all for the greater good" the man spoke.

The sound of an engine rang in the distance as they faced the moon. A figure on a bike can be seen flying down towards them as he landed on the road and screeched to a stop "Professor McGonagall, dumbledor" he greater them as the massive man got off the bike his bushy hair flowing in the wind "How's is he" ablus asks "he fell asleep just as we were over Bristol poor bugger" hagrid wept "now hagrid this isn't goodbye after all" we spoke as he took the boy from hagrid and faced McGonagall "I think its best you go back to Nicolas I'll suspect he'll be awakening soon" Albus told McGonagall who looked at him as her thin lips sagged into a frown she disappear into the night back to her home in Scotland.

Her home, not being much, was only a cottage but was beautiful nonetheless. With pots washing themselves in the kitchen. To a blanket being knitted together in the living room, it wasn't much, but it was home for her and Nicolas, who was a poor boy whose life wasn't in fate's favour being the grandson to the notorious Gellert Grindelwald; Nicolas's legacy was only held with death and war. However, after Ablus's spy, Severus Snape, heard of the child being raised by the Death Eater, she and the potters were entrusted with retrieving the boy. After a successful mission, Albus later entrusted Mcgonagall with raising the boy till he came of age.

She understands why Albus is acting in the way he is. He's trying to prevent another war, but for the poor Potter boy to suffer under those muggles was not something Mcgonagall stood lightly with. On the one hand, she knows if Harry was to be raised in the wizarding world, the fame and power might go to his head in creating another dark lord; however, to suffer under such horrible people could create the same result, and Albus was taking a huge risk in doing so. It was the same fate for Nicolas. His parents were unknown; however, being a Grindelwald wasn't something anyone should be proud of for him. It's a name she wants to help him forge into something that strikes hope and not fear, a name that represents bravery and honour, not fear and despair.

She looks at a picture that layed on her desk she uses when she works from her home of her and a boy with snow white hair and pale blue eyes and a smile that shows true happiness "Oh Nicolas I only hope that they accept you for who you are and not who your family are" she says as she walks towards the back of the cottage towards the two-bedroom that face each with three other doors that accompany them. She slowly opened the bedroom on the left, which was Nicolas's room with his toys in the room, and Nicolas was fast asleep in his bed. Mcgonagall, happy with the sight, closed the door and walked Into her room, getting into her sleeping gown, and with a wave of her wand, all the lights in the cottage went out as she repaired for the future ahead of them both.
