Chapter 63 - Chapter 63 The world's most expensive private jet

Rebecca shot Berloff Reed an annoyed look before saying, "Didn't you hear? It's not that my cousin doesn't want to drive over; there's a huge traffic jam on the airport highway because of an accident."

"Besides, what's wrong with taking the subway? It's safe and convenient. It's not like you'll lose a limb by riding it!"

Darnell's eyes lit up, and his expression quickly changed from gloomy to cheerful. "Rebecca has a point. Taking the subway isn't so bad."

"When the subway gets crowded, I'll make sure to stay close and protect you from any sleazy guys trying to take advantage of you!"

He had already planned it out. With the subway packed, he'd have the perfect excuse to get close to Rebecca, enjoying some intimate contact. It was a win-win for him.

Berloff Reed narrowed his eyes, giving Darnell a sharp look. "With me here, you don't need to worry about my cousin."

"Besides, who said we're taking the subway?"

Darnell was taken aback, then let out a series of cold laughs. "You said the airport highway is blocked. If we're not taking the subway, are you going to sprout wings and fly us to Silk City?"

Berloff Reed gave Darnell a half-smile. "I may not be able to grow wings, but I can certainly buy a pair."

"Today, I'm planning to fly us all to Silk City!"

Hearing this, Darnell burst into laughter, looking at Berloff Reed with mockery. "Hahaha... You're killing me, man!"

"You think you can just buy wings and fly? What are you, a birdman?"

Primrose and Marcella, the two lackeys, joined in with their mocking laughter.

"Rebecca, your cousin looks quite decent, but is his brain all there?" Primrose sneered.

"Yeah, listen to the nonsense he's spouting. Did he escape from a mental hospital?" Marcella added.

Rebecca frowned and discreetly pinched Berloff Reed.

"You brat, what on earth are you up to?"

Berloff laughed heartily and nodded towards the helipad ahead.

"Cousin, I'm telling the truth. They just don't have the brains to understand!""Look, that's the wings I bought!"

Rebecca turned her head to look ahead, and through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, she saw the private jet helipad of Silk City Airport.

On the runway, a black medium-sized helicopter was quietly parked, its two overhead rotors prominently visible.

Rebecca's eyes widened in disbelief.

"Berloff, you can't be telling me that private helicopter is yours, right?"

Snap!

Berloff snapped his fingers and grinned. "Cousin, congratulations, you got it right!""We'll be taking this helicopter back to Silk City. No traffic jams, and it's pretty classy, don't you think?"

Standing nearby, Darnell was shocked to his core as he stared at the helicopter.

"Holy crap! Isn't that one of the world's most expensive private helicopters, the AW139?"

Darnell's exclamation caught everyone's attention.

"Mr. Darnell, is that helicopter really expensive?" Primrose asked, puzzled.

Darnell replied irritably, "Of course it is!"

"This AW139 private helicopter costs over a billion in our country, and no billionaire here has the financial power to order one."

"Abroad, only top-tier billionaires like Bill Gates can afford it."

"Kid, are you saying you bought this helicopter?"

"How much did you drink to be this delusional in broad daylight?"

Darnell crossed his arms and gave Berloff Reed a disdainful look.

Berloff smiled calmly. "No wonder you're the heir to my cousin's company; you have a good eye."

"This AW139 is developed and produced by Italy's Agusta. It's a 6-ton class medium twin-engine helicopter. Among helicopters of its class, the AW139 has the most spacious cabin."

"The one I bought has a specially customized VIP executive cabin, spacious and comfortable, capable of accommodating up to 15 passengers."

"Mr. Darnell, is this helicopter classy enough for you?"

Darnell glared at Berloff with a dark expression. "The ride of the world's richest man? I have no complaints about that."

"But you, kid, claiming this helicopter is yours, aren't you afraid of biting your tongue with such a big lie?"

"A private helicopter with a range of over 600 miles, as far as I know, not many wealthy folks in the country would spend big bucks on that."

"And you, daring to boast that you're the owner of this helicopter, do you really think there's no tax on bragging?"

Berloff Reed casually cleaned his ear and replied nonchalantly, "Oh? This helicopter is just a hundred million. Is that expensive?"

"It's just a means of transportation. As long as it works, why worry so much?"

"Mr. Darnell, I must say, haha, even though you can't afford nice things, you sure know a lot about them!"

Darnell felt his blood boil at those words.

Darn it!

What does he mean by "can't afford, but knows a lot"?

Isn't that the line Darnell usually uses to mock poor folks?

And now, Berloff Reed had the audacity to mock him in front of his crush Rebecca and two female subordinates.

This was unbearable!

"You..." Darnell glared at Berloff, ready to explode.

"Mr. Berloff!"

At that moment, a flight attendant in uniform ran over with a bright smile, enthusiastically guiding them.

"The VIP passage is this way. Please follow me, you and your esteemed guests!"

Berloff Reed nodded with a smile, "Thanks for the trouble!"

This scene left Darnell and Rebecca utterly confused. They followed Berloff in a daze, guided by the flight attendant, to a helicopter waiting on the tarmac.

At that moment, Sutton, the butler sitting in the co-pilot seat, quickly climbed down from the helicopter and took Berloff's suitcase.

"Mr. Berloff, let me handle the heavy lifting!"

After handing over the suitcase, Berloff turned to Rebecca and introduced, "Cousin, this is my butler, Sutton."

"Miss Rebecca, nice to meet you," Sutton nodded respectfully and greeted her.

Boom!

The sound was like a thunderclap, snapping Rebecca, Darnell, and the others out of their stupor."H-Hello!" Rebecca stammered as she greeted Sutton, then turned to Berloff with a face full of shock.

"Berloff, is this helicopter really yours? When did you get so rich?"

"And you have a butler? How big is the house you bought in Silk City?"

Berloff chuckled, "I made some money in finance recently, so I bought a few things to improve my life."

"As for the house, it's in the waterfront area. It's decent enough to host you all."

Crack!

Darnell and the others were so stunned by his words that they felt like they were about to split apart.

Come on!

Buying the world's most expensive private helicopter worth a billion dollars is hardly "making a bit of money."

Improving one's lifestyle? That's an understatement.

This is the same helicopter owned by the richest person in the world! It's pure luxury and extravagance!

When Darnell heard that Berloff Reed had bought a house on the waterfront, his heart nearly skipped a beat.A house that can accommodate a private helicopter on the waterfront? How big must that be?

Considering the sky-high property prices on Silk City's waterfront, just thinking about the cost of that house is enough to make anyone's heart race.

Even if Darnell sold his family's multi-million-dollar export company, it wouldn't be enough to buy it!
