Chapter 2 - Who Says I Can’t Open a Door?

The street was silent—so quiet that the fall of a single needle could be heard.

And yet, the air above seemed to rumble with invisible thunder.

That bumpkin just said what?

He's going to marry the goddess of every man in Dongshan City?

And on top of that, he had the audacity to look down on her?

And he wanted to call off the engagement?!

Ning Xiru's foot dug into the ground so hard she nearly tore her shoes and scratched the pavement.

She had always been untouchable, admired from afar, never judged openly by anyone.Yet here she was, publicly scrutinized—and insulted—by a rustic bumpkin!

Her fists trembled. If it weren't for the crowd, she might have choked him on the spot.

"You're talking nonsense! If not for my grandmother insisting, do you think I'd agree to this marriage? What right do you have to look down on me? Do you think I'd ever marry someone as backward as you?!" Ning Xiru shouted, furious.

The plump young secretary at her side had never seen Ning Xiru lose her composure. She gasped and whispered urgently, "Miss Ning, let's go back and discuss this in private!"

Yes—this wasn't something to handle in public. Better to settle it away from prying eyes, and then kick him to the curb.

Ning Xiru realized her own impulsiveness and scolded herself silently. She wasn't usually so short-tempered. Why did meeting this bumpkin make her lose control?

From the side came Lin Shuai's voice. "Xiru, is this the person you came to pick up?"

"I don't get it. Even picking someone off the street would be better than this guy," he muttered. "What is this thing? Bald at such a young age, dressed like a peasant… not even worth carrying shoes for, yet she's marrying him?"

Already in a foul mood, Ning Xiru glared at him. "Lin Shuai, my affairs don't concern you!"

Lin Shuai smirked. "I don't want to interfere. But Xiru has a meeting this afternoon, and if her mood is ruined by these peasants, that's a loss for the company!"

He turned, pinched his nose as if he smelled a stench, and gave Chen Xinan a look of pure disgust.

"Hey, kid. I don't care who you are, but stop shouting here! Three minutes to get a ticket, then take your backward self and leave!"

Chen Xinan picked at his nose, unimpressed. "Go yourself and see what happens?"

Everyone around was shocked. Who was this fearless rustic, telling Lin Shuai off? Sympathy was written all over their faces—this boy was about to get himself into deep trouble.

Lin Shuai's face darkened. He approached Chen Xinan, his gaze cold. "What did you just say? Repeat that!"

Ning Xiru knew Lin Shuai could hold grudges. Chen Xinan had come for her—there was no need to make enemies the moment he stepped off the train. She warned him, sternly: "Don't talk nonsense! He's not someone you can provoke!"

Chen Xinan sneered at her. "Man speaks, woman shuts up!" Then he glanced at Lin Shuai. "Didn't catch that? Let me get closer: I said, you go first, and I'll show you! Clear enough this time?"

"You're asking for death!" Lin Shuai roared, swinging his arm to slap Chen Xinan square across the face.

"Smack!"

Ning Xiru's face paled. She muttered, "Serves him right! Talking nonsense and calling me a woman—he deserved that!"

The crowd shook their heads. This bumpkin was outrageous. Did he think Dongshan City was his personal backyard? Offend someone like Lin Shuai, and his life would never be easy again.

The plump secretary gasped, covering her mouth. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

Lin Shuai staggered back, touching his cheek. "What… did you…?"

From start to finish, he hadn't seen Chen Xinan make any move—but there it was, a perfect slap, and his face stung.

The onlookers finally realized—this bumpkin actually hit Lin Shuai!

Spitting out a mouthful of blood, Lin Shuai's face turned grim. "You dared to hit me? Do you even know who I am?"

Chen Xinan lazily patted his hand. "You, wearing makeup and smelling like perfume… what are you anyway? A rabbit god? Doesn't matter—I'm not into that!"

Lin Shuai's anger nearly exploded. Gritting his teeth, he said, "Fine! You've got guts. This grudge is ours now! Next time I see you, I'll pin you down and make you call me master, got it?"

Chen Xinan smirked. "I don't want a grandson like you. Better stay out of my way, or I might accidentally kill you."

"Enough! Sort this out back at the office!" Ning Xiru intervened, taking a deep breath. She couldn't bear to lose face here.

Lin Shuai fell silent, his eyes on Chen Xinan. Normally arrogant and domineering, he wasn't foolish. He could see that this rustic had real skill—and strength. He wasn't a match… not yet. A gentleman can wait ten years for revenge.

Chen Xinan shrugged, unconcerned. He'd come this far. If he called off the engagement, it had to be said clearly—no endless arguments with the old master later.

Ning Xiru opened the car door to call him inside—but Lin Shuai's cold voice stopped her. "Do you dare sit in my car?"

He didn't want this bumpkin anywhere near Ning Xiru. Even brushing against her would feel like an insult.

She knew his game: Lin Shuai was from a street racing clan, known for midnight races. After that slap, he wanted to humiliate Chen Xinan using his car.

Ning Xiru, frustrated with Chen Xinan herself, said nothing and got in her car.

Chen Xinan smirked. "I'm not afraid of any car."

"Good. Then go—this one's yours." Lin Shuai pointed to a yellow Lamborghini. "Get in."

Chen Xinan approached, tugged at the door—and it didn't budge.

Lin Shuai laughed mockingly. "Can't get in? The door's open… don't know how to use it? I told you, bumpkin! Don't even try a fancy car!"

Chen Xinan grinned, an evil glint in his eyes. "Who says I don't know how to open a door?"

Bang!

He slapped the door hinge, yanked the handle, and with a loud crack, the entire door came off.

Bending down, he plopped into the passenger seat, tossing the door aside. "See? I got in."

The crowd was stunned.

This guy just detached a Lamborghini door like it was scrap metal!

Millions of yuan worth of luxury, handled like a toy. How was that even possible?
