Chapter 81.
"What is he doing? What is that massive glowing sphere above his head? How did it even form?"
Everyone watching Felix couldn't help but wonder. The scene unfolding before their eyes was too strange to make sense of. No one could explain the sudden appearance of the massive blue energy sphere, more than ten meters in diameter, suspended above Felix's head. And no one knew what he planned to do with it.
However, the fierce lightning arcing across the surface of the orb crackled with terrifying energy. Even from miles away, the sound seemed to echo in their ears, filling their chests with a suffocating tension. Lightning has always been a natural force humans feared and dreaded, but it's also a symbol of immense power—one that has always remained beyond human control.
Yet, this man had done it. Somehow, he was controlling lightning. No one knew what technique he used, but the fact that he could manipulate such raw energy was nothing short of incredible.
"Is he controlling thunder and lightning? Could he be connected to the Asgardian God of Thunder, Thor?" Nick Fury watched with a stern gaze. Though his expression was difficult to read, the intensity in his eyes betrayed his concern.
In the live feed, dark clouds churned in the sky. A clear gap had formed above Felix's head—almost as if the storm itself parted to give him space. From there, observers could clearly see both him and the ever-growing energy sphere.
Nick Fury squinted at the screen. "If this person is doing all this just for show, then he's certainly sending a message to those of us watching," he muttered under his breath.
Still, despite the display of overwhelming power, Fury sensed no immediate threat. "Maybe he's not hostile," he thought. "He could even be a potential candidate for the Avengers Initiative… But first, we need to find out who he is."
A power like this wasn't something Nick Fury would forget. If he was going to assemble a team of extraordinary individuals, then this man—whoever he was—fit the bill perfectly.
But Felix had no idea what Nick Fury was thinking—and honestly, he didn't care. He had no intention of joining the Avengers or getting involved in their messy politics. That kind of life was far too complicated. Too many rules. Too many expectations. And too much blame if anything went wrong.
Felix wasn't like those –noble heroes. If people criticized him after all the times he saved the world, he wouldn't hesitate to lash back. He knew his temper. He didn't want to become a so-called "superhero" only to end up a killer in the eyes of the world.
Right now, though, he had other things on his mind.
What Felix was doing was inspired by an iconic move from Dragon Ball—specifically, Goku's Spirit Bomb. Of course, he couldn't gather the life force of every living creature like Goku could. Instead, he poured his own energy and the thunder force of nature into the orb.
Though the energy sphere looked powerful, it was mostly for show. The inside was hollow, and its massive size was just the result of clever energy manipulation. No one watching could tell that—it appeared intimidating, and that was the point.
Even if the energy wasn't on par with a nuclear weapon, it was far stronger than a missile. And holding such a gigantic orb above his head, radiating wild energy, was enough to make anyone watching—from satellites or elsewhere—tremble.
Felix's goal was simple: to leave an impression.
As the energy sphere grew, Felix began to struggle to maintain control. Such a vast concentration of power wasn't easy to manage. Luckily, his mental strength was formidable. While the lightning energy inside the orb was aggressive and volatile, it was still within his limits to control.
If he lost focus for even a moment, the energy might explode in his hands. That would be a disaster—and a painful one at that.
Carefully, Felix leaned forward and hurled the glowing orb toward the ground.
Thankfully, the energy sphere held together mid-air and didn't detonate prematurely. It moved slowly—far slower than a practical combat technique should. Covering a distance of nearly 100 meters, it took several seconds to descend.
Compared to a quick energy blast like a Qigong wave, this attack was clumsy and sluggish. In a real fight, no sane opponent would stand still and wait to be hit. Only a fool would stay in one place long enough for such a slow attack to land.
Still, its massive size and eerie glow gave it a dramatic presence—like a god hurling judgment upon the Earth.
Hissss...
The orb touched the ground, producing a sharp sizzle like red-hot iron plunged into ice water.
BOOM!!
The sound barely lasted a second before it was drowned out by a massive explosion.
The sky itself seemed to change color as a towering mushroom cloud erupted, rising into the heavens like a nuclear detonation. However, instead of flames, the blast consisted of pure yellow energy, sparkling like a supernova.
It was mesmerizing—like a dazzling firework display. But beneath the beauty was destruction.
The explosion's colorful display masked the terrifying force within. In that instant, the unleashed energy sent out a shockwave like a tsunami, flattening the ground and flinging debris high into the sky.
Even Felix, floating above the blast, was nearly swept up in the violent surge. But his body was incredibly resilient—this level of shockwave didn't faze him.
The explosion Felix triggered was incredibly powerful—just as he had expected. Its force was comparable to the last time he used a Qigong wave.
The impact carved a massive, bowl-shaped crater nearly 10,000 meters wide into the earth. A terrifying shockwave rippled outward like a tsunami, instantly destroying everything in its path. Trees, rocks, even the ground itself—all swept away in an instant.
Fortunately, Felix had carefully chosen an uninhabited region for his test. With nothing but useless rocks and rubble in the area, he didn't have to worry about accidentally harming any innocent people.
As violent as the shockwave was, its momentum eventually weakened. After spreading tens of thousands of meters outward, it gradually lost its destructive power. What had begun like a furious hurricane capable of leveling entire forests and buildings now faded into a strong gust—enough to make people stagger, if any had been nearby.
"Well, the performance is complete. Time to disappear—fade into obscurity. That's the ultimate level of style!"
Though smoke and dust still billowed across the landscape, Felix had already used his mental strength to scan the area and assess the results. Everything had gone as planned. His attack had undoubtedly shocked and intimidated whoever was watching.
Satisfied, he prepared to leave. He'd tested his new suit, flown long distances, and shown off his power—there was no reason to stay any longer. Using the smoke as cover, he activated his superpower and vanished into the sky.
Within minutes, the aftermath of the explosion settled. The dust began to clear.
And now, those monitoring the event via satellite could finally see the aftermath of Felix's attack.
"Is… is this really something a human can do? And where did he go? How did he just disappear like that?"
A long, heavy silence filled the command room. The big screen displayed a blackened crater where the energy ball had struck. Many of the officials stared, mouths open, unable to believe what they were seeing.
Even though they were only watching through a screen and couldn't physically feel the force of the explosion, the terrifying power on display left them shaken. They could barely imagine the consequences if that blast had struck a populated city.
Though the explosion wasn't stronger than a nuclear bomb, it had a significant advantage—it didn't leave behind any nuclear radiation. And more frightening still, it had been unleashed by a single person, without the aid of any external weapons or tools.
If this man decided to go on a rampage, attacking city after city, the results would be catastrophic. He could destroy entire regions, perhaps even entire nations or even wipe the surface of earth, in a matter of minutes.
His combination of overwhelming power and unmatched speed made him a living nightmare—an unstoppable force against which no defense seemed sufficient.
"Who was it that suggested attacking him earlier?" someone finally broke the silence.
The man who spoke was a high-ranking official, his voice laced with sarcasm and cold fury. He glanced pointedly at the Air Force general who had previously urged for a preemptive strike.
"I want to know—do you still think that was a good idea?"
He continued without waiting for an answer. "If we had attacked first and failed to stop him immediately, he could've thrown that energy bomb straight at us. The White House could've been reduced to ash!"
"General, do you still want to go ahead with that brilliant plan of yours?"
"Stick to that plan? Hell no!"
The Air Force general looked pale, cold sweat dripping from his forehead. He looked nothing like the confident man from earlier.
"I'm not a fool—I still want to live."
He deeply regretted ever suggesting an attack. He had never expected that a single human could possess such devastating power. Felix wasn't just dangerous—he was effectively a humanoid nuclear weapon.
"Thank God the President didn't listen to me," he muttered.
If the President had approved his request to send a fighter jet, that massive light orb might have exploded above the capital instead of in a remote wasteland. And if that had happened, the general knew he would have been blamed for provoking a national catastrophe.
Truthfully, his eagerness to attack hadn't come from fear—but from ambition. He was obsessed with uncovering the secret behind Felix's powers—especially his ability to fly at supersonic speeds.
This was, after all, the Marvel world—where super-soldiers like Captain America were created with just a few vials of serum. If they could discover how Felix flew, perhaps they could recreate it. Maybe he could fly one day too.
He had even fantasized about soaring freely through the sky, just like Felix…
But now?
That dream had turned into a nightmare.
However, reality struck him hard—like a slap to the face—shattering his fantasies and dragging him back to the present. Only now did he truly understand: this was not someone to be provoked. That mysterious human wielded a kind of fearless power, one that made everything else seem insignificant.
"Hmph!"
Although the general was terrified of the consequences his earlier suggestion could have brought, he couldn't allow himself to show weakness—not in front of his peers. He was a military leader, after all. So instead of responding to the official mocking him, he simply let out a heavy snort, a clear signal of his irritation and defiance.
The room remained tense until another voice—calm and authoritative—cut through the silence.
"Enough," the President said firmly. "That mysterious man has vanished for now, but we all saw what he did—and we all understand the level of power he holds."
He scanned the faces in the room, his tone cold and resolute.
"As he made clear, if we don't provoke him, he likely won't harm innocent people. But that doesn't mean we can afford to remain passive."
He continued, "Every intelligence agency represented here is now under direct order to find out everything about this individual. His identity, his background, his abilities, and most importantly—his weaknesses. We must find a way to neutralize or restrain him if necessary."
"Our country cannot afford to be threatened—not by another government, and certainly not by a lone superhuman."
The President's expression darkened as he delivered a final warning:
"Until we've identified a way to control or defend against him, no one is to take unauthorized action. If anyone dares to act on their own and provokes him… you will be court-martialed under military law."
Then, his gaze shifted back to the massive crater displayed on the screen.
"This meeting," he said grimly, "is hereby classified as top-secret. No information about that man is to be leaked—under penalty of treason."
"Also, send a team to secure the blast site. No civilians are to approach. I want a full investigation into what caused that explosion."
He paused for a moment, his voice dropping slightly as a spark of ambition flickered in his eyes.
"If we can unlock the secret of this power our nation could become the most powerful force on Earth."
But just as quickly as it appeared, the expression vanished—replaced once again by a cold, unreadable calm.
