Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: First Hunt

The last thing I remember was the look on the Yadd queen as she sent us down to the universe though I do have snippets of memory from my time in the egg.

Still from what I could see, my situation was not ideal. The only thing of familiarity to me laid down in a bloodied pool and broken body.

I went to him and stared at his eyes for a good few seconds, whatever he did and however he did it has now resulted in this mess.

Honestly, I felt like I was about to die and the more I stared at him. The more I felt like slapping him though I couldn't especially with these claws for hands.

Then they took both of us and that book, driving us all the way to a forest. All the while I felt so damn hungry, so hungry that I wanted to eat those tasty humans.

But apart from the sheer wrongness in that statement and the fact that those guys in armour will most likely kill me with ease. I used what time I could to review what I had just experienced.

Ranging from my death, pain, apparent resurrection and now new life. All together, I was reasonably calm the whole way and not freaking out....at least not yet.

" Here you go traitor!" One of the guards said as they dragged us off the carriage.

They threw at us a well packed backpack, a sword, knife, an iron shield as well as a pouch. They literally drop us mere inches from the forest.

I jumped out of the carriage before they could take me, a bit awestruck at the vastness of the sight before me. Tall dark trees, stretching for as long as the eye could see.

You could tell from the outside that once you go in, the sun will be mostly blocked out. Leaving only bits of rays and shadows.

" Get in there and face your justice " A knight said as he drew out he's sword, fighting them was out of the question especially since I was quite weak now.

" Sure sure, " The boy I was with, Luthren from what I understood earlier said. He grudgingly picked up the items and did so very slowly.

A lot of his body was just swollen and bleeding, I personally reckon he'd be dead in a few days. Especially since we have no medicine.

The knights urged us into the forest quickly and we obliged them. The first steps in and my body shivered at the eeriness and air around here. It felt so different.

We kept walking for about a few minutes, right until we were out of the guards sight. I planned to run back after a few hours and escape this damn place.

However, the boy with me soon collapsed unto the floor. He was breathing loudly and quite heavily too.

" Hey Kid, you all right " I asked him though was a bit stunned when I heard only screeches and growls from me.

Of course I understood them but the boy wouldn't. So I found myself just staring stupidly at him for a few seconds, honestly just not sure what to do.

I could leave him and go ahead with my plan or I could stay and see whether this could prove beneficial to me...despite the risks.

Plus I didn't really feel good knowing that the first human I was stuck with was going to just die just like that.

" Gah, just wait here " I screeched at him in annoyance before going to scout our surroundings.

Raer honestly had a blast doing his little exploring, for all the bad feelings he got from the forest. He felt really energetic and was jumping up and everywhere, from the tree grooves to puddles of mud and water.

He sniffed everything he could though did not straddle to far. But soon, he encountered he's first living being.

He had gone quite the distance from the boy before deciding that it was time to return when suddenly he could smell the scent of another being nearby.

He also could hear leaves shuffling and the rhythmic patterns of a feet moving back and forth. 1...2 feets.

He felt quite elated at the thought of meeting someone else here but decided to approach carefully. Taking a few steps and following what his senses told him, he soon saw through his eyes the making of a beast.

With a slight furry brown skin, long four legs and two big horns. It's face looked passive, cute and...tasty.

Suddenly, Raer remembered just how hungry he was and instinctively entered a hunting mode. His body remembered just how animals used to hunt back in his old world and took a stance to fit it.

He waited patiently and watched it's movement until it seemed time to pounce on it. He leaped as far as he could, but had underestimated the strength of his body.

He missed his grip, only barely managing to leave a bleeding tear at the back of the animal. His claws were now bloody and just as he landed, his tongue reached out and licked what few blood drops it could.

It felt like the most wonderful taste he had ever had in his entire life. He felt so good, so hungry and so powerful. He wanted more, he wanted to satiate his desires but then reason came in the most interesting way.

The animal had let out a cry of pain when the tear happened and right now, it stared at him with two heads?

Each close together with two separate necks connecting it to the same body. It bared it's teeth to reveal sharpened edges that could tear through his skin.

The fur on its body stood up like spikes and its faces turned deep black with a reddened Iris. It growled in anger before charging at Raer.

Quickly, he jumped out of the way just in time to hear a bang from the area he was just in.

The animal had dashed into the tree right behind him, it's horns embedded deeply into it.

Acting quickly, Raer jumped unto the back of the animal. Digging his claws into it to get a grip, then he opened up his big wide jaw and clamped down on its back.

Teeths smoothly soaking in, little streams of blood erupting and soon the feel of fresh hot bones upon his teeths.

The animal roared in pain and galloped widely, trying to get Raer off it. One of its head begin furiously trying to bite Raer. Screaming and baring its teeth at him.

Raer quickly released his mouth and went for the frailing neck, biting down as hard as he could with the intention of tearing out meat from it.

Seconds later and the head stopped moving, blood gushing from the hole left at the back of its neck. The second head still stuck in the tree stopped moving and simply closed its eyes.

It's body stopped moving and soon fell limply, leaving Raer resting partially upon the ground.

" Well, that was quite interesting " Raer screeched before releasing his grip on the beast. Just then it suddenly shot up and with all its might, pushed itself away from the tree.

" Shit !!" Raer Screamed as the horns on the beast snapped in half thereby releasing it.

Quickly, he jumped unto one of the legs. Biting on it and breaking it with ease. The animal screamed and raised its other leg, using it to hit Raer on the head.

He fell back a bit dazed by it just to see the beast running as quickly as it could away from him. But it didn't make it too far as the weight of the dead head, broken leg and bleeding body soon caught up to it.

It screamed in agony before falling to the ground tired and beaten. It was still breathing but now just laid there, its eyes slowly losing its red color to turn back into a white Iris.

Raer walked slowly up to it, looking into its eyes before showing his teeth to it. His mouth was stained with its blood and bits of its flesh.

Rather than kill it once and for all, Raer decided to drag it while it was alive to where the boy had been. His body already telling him that the food would last longer if the animal was still alive.

It took him a while but soon, he reached the body of the boy still laying there on the floor. Now he began to questioned his thought process on just leaving him bare out there.

The least he could have done was drag him away or covered him with leaves to hide him from any prying animals.

Still he was grateful the boy was alive and then got to work licking him. Once more, he just for some reason knew that his saliva could help close up wounds and allow him to heal faster and safer.
