Well, this in itself is not a chapter, but a lot of curiosities about the universe of the fic, its characters and some future events.
Seeing the support that everyone gives to the story and the fans who keep appearing, I decide to share with you a little about what should be my most popular work.
So, without further ado, let's go to the curiosities:
1- initially, the fic would take pant in the DCEU.
This is something I changed right in the third chapter after analyzing the story a little. When I started writing the fic, the idea was for the story to take set in the DCEU with the protagonist already being an adult when the events of the universe began.
But then I stopped for a while and thought: "Is he Adam fucking Warlock, strong enough to face superman and will he be in the DCEU? " and decides to change.
It may not seem like it, but Adam is strong enough to face Superman on an equal footing and win with difficulty. That's when we don't count some of the strongest versions of it.
Currently, the fic universe is a mixture of comics with animations and some elements of the movies. More things may be added over time.
2- The protagonist would be very different from what he is currently.
Well before writing the first chapter, the idea for the protagonist "Adrian" was for him to be a young man with problems who ended up dying and going to another universe with the powers of his favorite hero, in this case Adam Warlock.
He would be someone much colder, more violent and well-headed, doing things beyond questionable and being able to be seen as a villain in many situations.
But then I looked at this and thought: "It's too generic, I find about 100 like this in any fanfic" So I changed to who he is now.
Now he is a calmer, more focused and humane guy in my view. He is a comic book fan who knows the shit that can happen in the future and tries to get the most out of Adam's potential because he knows that if he depends only on the heroes, his chances of survival are low.
He is not a super genius or someone who knows everything that will happen in the future, so he is going the safest way and preparing while he still has time. He knows that as a reincarnation of Warlock he is very strong, but he also knows that he can't play for luck.
Another idea would also be that he would reincarnate as an adult to make it easier to meet the league and explore his journey more, but I chose to create my own timeline and leave him a child during this phase because I thought it was more fun that way.
3- There is no resurrection here.
Before you come to say that Adrian literally resurrected 2 chapters ago, remember that this is his power and that he is the protagonist, so he has plot armor.
But now speaking, all the deaths of this fic, of any known or unknown character, relevant or irrelevant, are completely absolute and cannot be reversed.
One thing that always bothered me in the comics was that death gradually became as irrelevant as the deaths in dragon ball. Did anyone die? It uses the well of Lazaro, the random and convenient spell number 101, alien technology of another or confusing and lazy explanation that no one else can stand.
This is something that annoys me and I decide to delete it from the fic. If any character dies, he's dead and that's it. If I say he died, then he died, even if he is a member of the league or an important character.
4- Some characters are different from the comic version.
Alternative universe, serves to be able to change characters without irritating people who really like them.
Some characters I changed the personality and sometimes their story also both because I think it's better for fic, and because I don't like how some characters have evolved for the worse over the decades.
For example, the Batman in this fic will not be this serious guy who never smiles, always has a contingency plan for each situation and who despises everyone around him. Here he will be a little more open guy, a more affectionate and present father, who makes jokes on certain occasions and who also makes mistakes like any normal human being.
There will be other characters that will also be changed, but I prefer to save it for when they read the fic.
5- The novel.
I won't give anyone false hopes so I'll talk soon, Adrian is bisexual and has a great chance of him relating to men or women over time. I just haven't decided yet.
If you have any problem with this and don't feel comfortable, I understand this and ask you to abandon the fic without causing confusion, because I understand your preferences and respect them.
I'm still deciding if it will have a harem or will focus only on a single pair, but I prefer the second one because it is easier to work with and causes fewer problems to fit logically into the fic.
6- There is no speed force or unnecessary time travel here.
Seriously, you don't know how much I hate how much time travel is used. It ruins the chronology when misused and creates a lot of unnecessary events that only serve to create more confusing and forgitable sagas.
Of course, there are cases how it is used to create really interesting timelines like Flash point, but I don't put either time travel or speed force in my fic, so don't complain about the sprinters being too slow that I'm already warning here.
And it's also not going to multiversal travel, it's just this universe and period. We're all tired of the multiverse.
7- Adrian's family.
I bet you thought that the father and mother would be forgotten over time or would die as it happens in all fanfics. But not here.
I want to give a story to Adrian's parents, give them real importance in the story and not turn them into characters that only exist to fill a catalog of characters.
Like think about it, 2 normal humans gave rise to the birth of a being with practically divine powers, isn't there a lack of logic here? Besides the fact that the father is also not normal...
But I won't say much until his sister is born... shit.
