Chapter 4 - 4: Souls

Today is February 10, 2001, and I discovered some things since then.

My powers are much more impressive than I expected. I really have Adam Warlock's, the one from the comics to be exact.

I'm still trying to figure out what the real extent of my skills is, but so far, I'm more confident in my chances of surviving now, even though I know everything that may appear in the future.

In addition to flying and throwing bursts of energy, I also have:

Super strength: I can easily lift a truck above my head, and I'm tough enough to survive the collapse of a building.

Super speed: I can run to at least mach 2 and I'm fast enough to dodge and catch bullets with my hands.

Regeneration: I heal myself in moments of any wound or injury I suffer. Depending on the size and depth of the wound, it may take more or less to regenerate.

Energy absorption: I can absorb and manipulate any form of energy, at least in theory. So far, I've only absorbed electricity and the heat generated by sunlight, so I still don't know the extent of this power.

So far, these are all the powers I know how to use, but since I'm a kind of reincarnation of Warlock, I know I can do much more.

In Marvel, Adam Warlock is one of the most feared and respected figures in the universe. One of the few beings who is able to rival Thanos only with brute force, the one who could conquer the universe when he had the jewels of the universe, one of the biggest users of quantum magic, etc. This and much more reflects how powerful he is.

Although with everything that happened in the comics of that time here it has made him lose all this imponence, this does not take away his merits. I personally consider him the strongest character in Marvel.

But there's a peculiarity about him that interests me a lot. In the comics, Adam has the jewel of the soul, one of the jewels of infinity, attached to his forehead. It was something that lasted but was soon discarded after a while.

My birthmark has the exact shape of a jewel and since I started testing my powers, an orange glow began to come out of this mark. My theory for this is that the birthmark is actually the jewel of the soul fused to my body.

I'm practically a reincarnation of Warlock, so I think it makes sense. And if that's really it, I already have an idea of what I'm going to do.

The jewel of the soul, manipulates the concept itself at a universal level, and this gives many possibilities to those who know how to use it and are creative. Something I am.

What I'm going to try to do is a test to see if I really have the soul jewel. And if I really have the jewel of the soul, what I'm going to do can be described as ambitious and stupid.

I'm going to open a portal to the spiritual plane.

I don't know if this exists in DC, but if I'm right, there is a place where souls who can't ascend stay, the different place from Heaven and Hell, where the laws of reality still apply, but they are not the same for those who are there.

That would be the spiritual plan.

What I plan is to open a round-trip ticket there. But nothing. If I fail, nothing happens to me, but if I succeed...

How much shit I'm going to do with the soul jewel.

But enough of raying, let's get down to business.

With that, I put myself in the Lotus position and closed my eyes, starting to feel the energy inside me.

But that's not what I wanted. I focused even more and then I felt it. A new energy, something trapped inside me, something that transcended what I understood.

I focused on this energy and suddenly, I saw myself inside a black space similar to the one I was before reincarnating, but there was a difference.

In the center, there was an orange jewel that radiated a supernatural glow.

It was the jewel of the soul.

I approached, feeling more and more attracted to the brightness and when I arrived, I slowly approached my hand and when I touched the jewel, something inside me changed.

My perception, my body, my own soul... transcended everything I understood. Little by little, the jewel was turning into energy and entering my body, completely fusing the jewel.

When this happened, I began to hear voices scattered all over the world, whispers, lost stories told by someone. These were the souls of the living.

I was projecting my soul everywhere souls and reading the souls of all the people in the world. I had become omnipresent at this point.

All these stories, all these lives, I was seeing them and assimilating them all at once. I saw people dying, I heard the laments of the unfortunate and heard the laughter of the newborns.

But that's not what I wanted.

Focusing even more on my power and expanding my reach, I began to see the unnatural entities of this world. Ghosts, demon, spirits, each of these creatures was within my reach.

What differentiated them from human beings was the energy they emitted. Through these non-living creatures, their bodies emitted an energy different from anything I had ever seen. It wasn't magic, but something close.

I focused on this energy and began to absorb it. I don't know if it was because of my energy absorption powers or the soul jewel capabilities, but it was being relatively easy.

At this moment, I was sucking the energy of all the beings of the earth, supernatural and natural. Humans, meta-humans, ghosts, demons, magicians, all were being drained by me.

This energy was added to my natural energy reserves and served to strengthen me even more. What I was doing was something that no one in DC had ever done before.

When I felt it was enough, I finally opened my eyes and began to search the earth for what I wanted. The spiritual plan.

Even if it was a different dimension, there was still an access passage for him within the world of the living. Finding him was not difficult, there was one inside a magician's mansion.

I focused on this passage and started copying the patterns, forming a passage just for me. Magical symbols began to appear around me and little by little, a bright orange portal manifested itself in front of me.

But before I could finish, something pulled me from behind and in moments, I was floating over Metropolis. Everything I was doing was obviously stopped when I lost concentration.

Looking at my transparent appearance, I soon realized that I was in a kind of astral projection and when I saw who was in front of me, I almost froze.

A male figure in blue clothes, golden bracelets and a golden helmet that covered his face. That was Doctor Fate, the equivalent of DC's Doctor Strange.

If he's here, then the situation is not good for me.

I'm very fucked up.
