Chapter 281 - chapter 81

Hou heard Hamar's quiet grumbling and interrupted him with a proposition, "Can you help?"

Hamar tutted and stayed quiet for a few moments. Hou said again, "Can yo-"

"-What do you want me to do?" Hamar interrupted.

Hou smiled, "I knew you'd help. Can you control the royal authority for me? I'll need to divert all my attention to the causality."

"What do you need me to do?"

Hou cracked his fingers and pointed to various points in a mental model of the sphere. By using their shared soul and body, Hou transmitted the vision into Hamar's consciousness. "I've already set up channel with aura, when I tell you I need you to push royal authority into these channels, disperse, and finally freeze."

"I can do that, are you ready?"

Hou nodded and held an open palm over his stomach, "I'm ready. Inject the authority, when I tell you...then fully utilize it."

Hamar started to move the authority. From his body's forehead a golden energy followed out of the channels carved into his body and out into the world. Carried and controlled by Hamar's mental energy it followed his exact instructions following Hou's guidance.

At the same time, Hou pulled out a chunk of the causality that had been formed within their inner true world. Using two open palms, he pushed controlled the liquid causality with precise movements of me talking energy.

He needed to control his emotions and thoughts as to not pollute his mental energy and misuse the causality.

He took a deep breath and focused entirely on the present problem. He pushed his palms forward and launched the causality into the massive aura barrier around the Solar Lands. The causality passed through the aura as if nothing was there, at the same time Hou carefully controlled his mind making sure to not disrupt his plans he had already set up.

At the next step Hou used a technique to split his consciousness. He had a moment before the causality would be absorbed by the world and have an effect he did not attend, "NOW!" Instantly, Hamar activated the royal authority. It shot into the Solar Lands and once he 'burned' it, the world inside froze. The royal authorities abilities being strengthened through Hou's aura barrier.

In the split moment generated by this freezing Hamar used 20% of his stored mental energy and used it to quickly activate a technique used to split consciousness.

His consciousness shook and with pure mental power split into two separate portions. This was a similar technique as the one his main body had used to create this split soul that was with Hamar. If it was just after he had merged with Hamar, he couldn't have used the technique but after the time chamber...the special disposition of a Nascent Soul allowed for his split consciousness to grow into a true fully formed consciousness.

Snap!

The split consciousness contained very few memories, only the essential ones for what Hou was planning. It snapped off from the main source and escaped the soul.

It launched into the frozen Solar Lands and moved to connect with the causality. His plan was to use causality to switch his own consciousness for the sea of worlds will that kept the Solar Lands from being a truly independent world. The consciousness shot right through the aura barrier and into the frozen world whereby it sent itself towards the lump of inactive frozen causality floating there.

"How much longer?" Hou asked.

"A few moments!" Hamar related his condition freezing the Solar Lands with royal authority.

He bit down on his lips, from then on it would only depend if it was enough time. All the instructions on what to do were within the split consciousness, he couldn't do anything more.

Phew! Hamar's consciousness relaxed, "That's all... It's over. Did it work?"

Hou closed his eyes and squeezed his fist tight. "I don't know yet... Let us see." He held out his open hand and tentatively attempted to sense his other consciousness within the Solar Lands.

He mobilised his massive aura barrier, it spun around at high speeds but after a few moments...

A few moments earlier.

Inside the Solar Lands,

William had begun putting himself a cup of tea when as the boiling water fell out the kettle's spout, it froze mid-air. He stopped pouring and let go of the kettle, observing it continue to float without any support. He placed his hands behind his back, and walked over to his balcony.

"Now, what's this then?" He has seen the colourful aurora earlier created by Hou's aura barrier, though misinterpreted to be Hamar, but now the entire world has frozen.

He held his hand out to the still night air, not a semblance of movement left. He squinted and pulled his hand back, stepping into the air. He walked high into the sky, pushing past stationary clouds, walking through his frozen world. Eventually he made his way to a glowing white orb of energy.

He didn't get too close but even from a distance he could tell it was a strong substance, though he could not tell what it was. He was a swordsman; he knew aura. This was not aura. He saw cultivators, this was now laws. He had known of a mage, this was not mana.

As he inched closer and closer, he turned around and held his hand out. From his hand, a cold storm of snowflake aura hovered over his hand. It froze an unknown entity which William brought over to himself, "A person?"

He injected a small stream of mental energy into the 'person' and he got a barrage of wills sent into himself. The thoughts and memories abridged into his consciousness and he let out a few words, "Oh...I messed up."

He wanted to think, but soon after the world snapped play and winds started to blow. Using his quick, aura infused, instructed he conjured all of his aura and shot out backwards. A massive storm instantly turned around the glowing energy, causality, and froze it in place. Or... More accurately, he had frozen the mental energy which contained it from doing anything.

His heart beat faster as he thought to himself, "I appear to destroyed Hamar's plans to take over our world? I can't tell if that's good or not... Well I'll have to wait for Hamar to explain."

On the outside, Hou's heart pounded viscerally and his gulped, "What?"
