In a distant region of space, far from Planet Vegeta, Saiyan warriors scattered across the North Galaxy received the order from Frieza's army to return home. Though many were filled with doubt, they all complied as usual. Only a few exiled Saiyans or those in remote areas failed to receive the message. The majority immediately set course for Planet Vegeta.
Among them was Bardock, the father of the main protagonist, Goku.
Bardock had always been skeptical of Frieza's army. Ever since Frieza took over King Cold's empire five years ago and became the new ruler of Planet Vegeta, Bardock had sensed the new overlord's deep-seated distrust of the Saiyans.
Now, with Frieza fully in control of his forces, aided by his high-ranking advisors Berryblue and Kikono, his dependence on the Saiyans had significantly diminished. Because of this, Bardock had been harboring a growing sense of unease.
And now, with Frieza's latest command, that feeling of foreboding only intensified.
"I just hope nothing bad happens," Bardock murmured to himself, gazing thoughtfully at the ships traveling alongside his own.
On a planet covered in mist and moisture…
"Prince Vegeta, we just received a command from Frieza's army," a towering Saiyan warrior over two meters tall said excitedly. He had been in the middle of battle when his communicator beeped, signaling an incoming message from headquarters.
"What order?" Vegeta laughed maniacally as he casually destroyed a castle with a single blast.
The burly Saiyan read from the device, "Frieza's army has ordered us to return to Planet Vegeta immediately. There is an important mission to be assigned."
"Ignore it. Pretend we never got the message," Vegeta said dismissively, cutting the warrior off. Annoyed, he fired an energy wave, causing another massive explosion in the distance.
"But… it's an order from headquarters."
Vegeta scowled. He disliked Frieza intensely. A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he casually tossed an energy sphere, creating a towering mushroom cloud. "Are you questioning my command?" he asked coldly.
"I-I understand."
The warrior was Nappa—the same Nappa who would one day invade Earth alongside Vegeta, only to be killed by him. Coming from a noble Saiyan lineage, Nappa wouldn't normally dare defy Frieza's orders, but opposing Vegeta was an even worse idea.
"Pathetic." Vegeta sneered at Nappa's hesitation before instructing the rest of his Saiyan squad to ignore the communication as well.
Meanwhile, Raiga's older sister, Sephilia, was leading her own battle squad in the conquest of a planet.
This was a high-value world, and its strongest warrior had a battle power exceeding 5,000. Even for the battle-hardened Saiyan forces, this mission required extreme caution—one mistake could mean total annihilation.
Now, however, the battle was in its final stages. The planet's most powerful defenders had been eliminated days ago, and the remaining resistance was barely a threat.
"Once we wipe out the remaining stragglers, we can hand the planet over to Frieza's forces. Just be careful with your attacks. If we destroy too much, we won't get a good price for this place," the squad leader grumbled before casually launching an energy blast that obliterated a mountain.
"Captain, if you can't control yourself, don't expect us to either," one of the warriors joked.
The squad leader glared at them before bursting into laughter. Then his eyes wandered, spotting a graceful figure not far away.
"Sephilia's getting stronger and stronger," he mused. "Maybe we should let her lead next time. A beauty like her is probably the only one who can keep these guys in line."
Unlike their male counterparts, female Saiyans were generally more compact and lean, with a refined beauty. Sephilia was one of the most striking among them. Her elegance was accompanied by a fierce strength—her figure was slender yet powerful, her features sharp yet mesmerizing. She was an exceptional warrior and one of the few high-class Saiyans, earning her great respect despite her young age.
Sephilia shot a cold glance at the squad leader before vanishing into thin air. In a blink, she reappeared hundreds of meters away, right in front of an enemy combatant. Without hesitation, she delivered a devastating kick, sending shockwaves through the air. The unfortunate warrior, despite having a battle power of 2,000, was obliterated instantly. A massive crater, over fifty meters wide, appeared where he once stood, and the surrounding landscape was ravaged for hundreds of meters.
"Sephilia, we just received word from Frieza's army. All Saiyans currently on missions must return to Planet Vegeta immediately."
"What are they up to? Are we just abandoning this planet?"
High-value planets were rare commodities. Many wealthy individuals sought to buy them for personal use or as bases for their own forces.
"Who knows? Maybe they found an even better planet—something huge that requires the entire army to conquer."
"What do we do?"
"We head back, of course. This was a nice conquest, but if a planet like that exists, it's going to be fun." The Saiyans laughed heartily, eager for battle.
Sephilia frowned slightly but ultimately boarded the ship with the rest of the squad.
"By the way, Sephilia, don't you have a younger brother? Why isn't he with you?" someone asked during the return journey.
Sephilia's expression turned icy. "That little brat hasn't contacted me in ages. When he comes back, he's in for a beating."
"Poor kid. Having an overachieving big sister must be tough."
"Amos, do you want a fight?" Sephilia shot him a sharp glare, radiating a chilling aura.
Amos immediately shut his mouth, realizing it was unwise to provoke a powerful female Saiyan.
"Hmph." Sephilia scoffed before leaning back in her seat, closing her eyes. However, a slight smirk curled on her lips.
"Raiga, if you're still alive out there, you'd better be ready for a good thrashing when you get back."
"Achoo!"
Unaware that he had just been targeted by his sister, Raiga sneezed unexpectedly. At the moment, he was too busy journeying with Tights, searching for the Dragon Balls.
