Wolf training didn't let up.
We still did everything else—physical endurance drills that left my muscles screaming, weapons training with temporary blades that never quite felt like mine, and then wolf training that pushed our mental and physical limits. Each day bled into the next, a constant loop of exhaustion and aching bones. No one dared complain though. With a war looming on the horizon, we all knew better than to voice weakness.
So when a guard approached me after training and told me I'd been summoned to the main building by Lucian, I almost laughed in disbelief. My body was too drained to care, but the name alone made something sharp and electric shoot through me. I tried not to flinch, tried not to feel anything, but ever since that moment in the forest, I hadn't been able to forget.
