The dreamscape welcomed me the moment I drifted off—soft, quiet, warm. The kind of warmth that didn't burn, just curled around you like a gentle embrace. The air was sweet with the scent of wildflowers and dew, and the tall grass bent with the breeze, whispering secrets I couldn't quite hear. The sky above me shimmered in hues of lavender and silver, as if twilight had paused time just for us.
I lay on the cool grass, staring up at the stars. Beside me, Lucian—my Lucian, the one in my dreams—was still as ever, arms folded behind his head, watching the night sky like it held answers he was about to find.
"I missed you," I whispered.
He turned his head slightly, giving me that soft smile that always pulled something deep inside me. "I know. It didn't take you long enough to fall asleep tonight."
"I was exhausted." I sighed, shifting to lie on my side so I could look at him properly. "Everything's been... too much."
He didn't speak, just waited.
