Mia wasn't one to get offended easily but she didn't like how Lucas had accused her without even questioning her about the situation. It hurt. She was not going to lie. This man had appeared in front of her like a gentleman. Like he truly trusted her, just this afternoon he was singing tales about how he wanted to bring her by his side because he believed in her.
But at the slightest inconvenience, he blamed her without holding back.
It reminded her of Henry. That man had boasted big but what happened? In the end, he had hurt her like this. But then again, these two men were brothers, so what if they were half brothers?
She smiled politely at Lucas before turning to look at the little girl sitting on the small bed. Mia raised her hand and patted Roni on her head before saying, "You should take care of yourself. Though your injuries are not severe, it will be better if you rest for a bit longer."
