Lucas's remarks brought a smile to Mia's face and she couldn't help but burst into a fit of laughter. She really had to admit that this man had his way with words; she had never seen Jamie so speechless before.
Jamie was indeed stunned into speechlessness by this man. She blinked her eyes and stared at Lucas as if the man had lost one or two of his screws. "You—what the hell is that supposed to mean? I was just —"
"Ah, ah, ah," Lucas waved his finger in the air. With an utterly calm look on his face, he said to Jamie, "You were just what? Why would you suddenly rush over here and accuse Miss Wills as if you and Henry have caught us in an affair? I have never heard of babies popping out from thin air just because a pair shared some chicken wings."
Jamie shot him a fierce glare and the man held his hands in a placatory gesture.
