Of course he was not only shocked but disappointed because that wasn't exactly what he had in mind when he said they needed to discuss further.
In fact, he wanted to propose they move in together, preferably to his place, to make it look more real, but judging from the way Shantel was looking at him, he doubted that thought would ever see the light of day.
"Shouldn't we put some in place so we know what's expected of each other?" He heard her ask.
He had no choice but to nod and smile faintly.
"Of course. Ladies first," he said even though he could vividly remember Shantel hadn't given him that privilege when he was faced with the same dilemma. Why was the case different now?
She lifted an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed by his mock chivalry.
"Alright. Here we go," she said as she leaned back against the chair. She took her time to cross her legs elegantly then donned an expression of cool detachment.
