Chapter 59 - Hope

Meanwhile, the servants cautiously approached, hearing footsteps coming toward the hall door. Zeela whispered, "Get ready, someone is coming."

Vern came out, unaware of what was happening, and found all the servants gathered. He didn't care and walked calmly. His eyes still reflected the intensity of his recent crying.

The cook ordered everyone to step back and, together with Zeela, entered the hall to find Kairos sitting in the center. They approached him cautiously.

Kairos said, "I apologize for what happened. I released a killing intent without realizing it. My emotions were just tense."

Zeela replied, "Are you okay?"

Kairos remained seated and did not turn to them. "I am fine," he answered.

Then he added, "I apologize, it seems I damaged the hall wall a little."

The cook asked, "Where did you damage the hall? It looks fine."

Kairos pointed to the ceiling, where large cracks had formed. The hall was designed for B-rank training, yet Kairos had caused the cracks merely through his killing intent.

Zeela understood from Kairos's state that he was deeply saddened. Kairos said, "Please, can you leave me alone for a moment?"

At that moment, Kairos's heart was full of anger and hatred, yet he restrained himself so as not to destroy everything.

Vern then returned to his room. Isabel noticed her brother's red eyes as if he had been crying intensely.

She asked him, "Who did this to you?" She was very scared.

Vern replied, "It's nothing, there's no problem. You were with Kairos. Where is he now?"

Upon hearing Kairos's name, Vern recalled what had happened, feeling sorrow again.

Isabel noticed her brother's sadness and asked, "Is it Kairos who did this to you? I'll go talk to him."

Vern stopped her, saying, "From now on, we must solve our problems ourselves. We have burdened Kairos too much. We need to change, we need to mature. How long will he help us because of our foolish actions? How long will we ask for help for every little thing?"

Isabel, curious, asked, "What happened between you two? How did my brother change like this? Why did he suddenly say this?"

Then Vern went to sleep in his bed.

She replied, "Alright, and we're sorry for the disturbance."

Isabel went to bed and hugged her brother, saying, "I know you are suffering a lot and trying to become better, but don't forget that your sister loves you in all your states."

Vern replied, "I know this, and you will also be my source of strength and pride. So just wait for me."

Isabel said, "I am waiting for you, don't worry."

The siblings slept together without having dinner. Kairos entered their room and found them asleep. He approached to cover them, and Vern, still asleep, spoke:

"I'm sorry, Kairos. We always burden you with our problems."

A tear fell from his eye. Kairos smiled warmly and said:

"You fool, you do not burden me. I am very happy when you ask for my help."

He wiped away the tear and covered them.

Isabel, still asleep, stirred when Kairos moved the blanket. She opened her eyes slightly, watching what Kairos would do. She heard everything he said and slightly opened her eyes, thinking he would notice. Kairos smiled very warmly. This was the first time Isabel saw him smile like that.

After hearing Kairos and Vern, Isabel understood her brother's meaning when he said, "We always burden you with our problems." She decided to change herself too.

Everyone was trying to improve themselves, wanting to become stronger. Isabel and Vern did not realize that they had truly changed. Their actions, movements, and behavior had become more mature since meeting Kairos.

Kairos was like a divine gift that changed their lives. Therefore, never despair, always try diligently, like Isabel and Vern. They were orphans and slaves on the verge of being sold in the market, but Kairos saved them, cared for them, gave them the best possible life, and admitted them to the best academy.

This shows patience, persistence, and never giving up, because one never knows when relief will come and life will change.
