Chapter 60 - Fern training

Early in the morning, Kairos entered Vern's room to motivate him for training. "Wake up, Vern! It's time to start exercises!" shouted Kairos.

Vern opened his brown eyes, still sleepy. He got up slowly, asking, "Where are we going?"

"Just follow me," replied Kairos with a smile.

The duo went down to a room below, where Kairos ordered Vern to start running. Vern was surprised: "Are we just going to run?"

"Just do as I say," replied Kairos confidently.

Vern started running with all his strength until he was almost out of breath. Kairos, who was not tired at all, asked him, "Are you ready to stop?"

"How can you not get tired?" Vern asked, astonished. "You are running more than me!"

"The difference between us is the long training I went through," Kairos explained.

Then Kairos used healing magic on Vern, removing his fatigue. But instead of resting, Kairos shouted: "Get up and run again!"

Vern trained continuously for three hours, under Kairos's supervision, who healed his fatigue whenever needed. After the intense training, they went to take a bath.

At school, the teacher also asked them to train. Everyone started running, and Vern said: "Running in the morning and now we run again! This is really hell."

Kairos replied with a smile: "This is nothing compared to the training that awaits you."

Vern felt fear after hearing Kairos's words, knowing that real hell awaited him.

Two months passed, and Vern and Kairos continued their grueling training. Their efforts started showing clear results; Vern's muscles became prominent, and his physical strength increased significantly, thanks to Kairos's healing magic.

The teacher announced: "This concludes the muscle training period, and we will move on to sword basics training."

The training instructor noticed Vern's remarkable development, so he approached him, saying: "How can your strength increase this much with such simple exercises?"

Vern thought to himself: "Simple?! I have been in hell for two months, running three hours daily without stopping, doing push-ups, and swinging the sword a thousand times daily. And the scariest part is Kairos told me this is only the beginning."

Vern replied to the teacher: "It's thanks to the intense training I do at home."

The teacher nodded, saying: "I now understand the reason for your remarkable progress."

Meanwhile, Isabel was working hard to learn magic. She learned to create a magical barrier and called it "Fire Magic." She trained in casting fire attacks and strengthening her magical defenses. Isabel reached Level F in the second stage.

Vern reached Level F in the first stage, while Kairos reached Level E in the third stage. Their progress was due to continuous work without stopping. They set goals before themselves and exerted effort without complaint.

Kairos called Vern and Isabel to his room. Vern asked: "Why did you gather us here?"

Kairos replied: "For your training. Vern, I will put you in closed training for one year. Do not speak to or look at anyone, and do not talk to Isabel."

Vern was surprised: "Why can't I talk to my sister?"

Isabel asked: "Yes, why?"

Kairos explained: "To organize his thoughts and feelings, and focus solely on training. Isolation will help him gather his strength. And I am your teacher—will you back down from your word?"

Kairos added: "I will protect Isabel. This is also training for her. You are weak. How long will you remain like this? It's time to work."

Vern agreed, saying: "I accept your training method. I am tired of being pathetic."

Isabel agreed after hesitation.

Kairos handed Vern a book and said: "This is the training method I created for you."

Vern read it and said: "What's the difference between this and hell?"

Kairos replied: "The difference is that you will live with honor and dignity, not humiliation and pity."

Vern said: "Damn you, you seize every opportunity to humiliate me."

Kairos laughed and said: "If you want me not to humiliate you, you must become stronger."

Vern smiled: "Alright, I will prove my strength to you after the training ends."

Kairos gave Vern a beautiful sword: "Take it, train with it."

Vern asked: "But why did you buy me a sword? Why go to the trouble?"

Kairos answered with a smile: "Who said it's free? You will serve me in the future. Consider this an investment, and I hope my investment won't be lost."

Vern replied confidently: "It will never be lost. Just wait for me."

Vern took his clothes, sword, and training book and left.

Kairos said: "Hah! I almost forgot something important."

Vern asked: "What is it?"

Kairos approached: "Come closer to me."

Vern hesitated: "You don't want to do something perverted to me, do you?"

Kairos laughed: "Damn you! Who would want to come close to you?"

Kairos brought out four heavy handcuffs: "Come on, Vern, put them all on."
