Alice Turner didn't understand the situation. Hearing Thomas Fisher's words, she thought perhaps Easton Holmes had said something to him, but this seemed unlikely since her sister hadn't shared their relationship with her brother.
"Did you tell your sister about us? When?" Thomas wondered if Lily Turner had noticed something, but the unexpected thing for him was that Alice had told Lily about them, which truly surprised him.
He was just surprised, without any intention of blaming her.
Now that her sister knows, his brother must know as well. If he'd known they were already aware of their relationship, he wouldn't have been so worried earlier.
