"Are you sure about what you are saying?" Lord Rowland asked.
Xavier nodded. He had just reported that he saw a maid sneaking into Marissa's room this morning.
"Who is it? Do you remember her name?"
"I don't know her name," Xavier replied. They were standing outside the servants' quarters. "I only came in yesterday. It's not possible for me to know anyone. Besides, I haven't really met the female servants yet."
"You are right," Lord Rowland said, his mind racing as he thought of how to take this matter to the king. What if the maid had not put the ring in Marissa's room? That would only make the case more complicated, and Xavier would be in trouble.
"I know you are thinking about the right thing to do, but I am telling the truth," Xavier said firmly. "I am sure this maid tricked all of us into believing Marissa did all that. It can be solved easily."
