Xavier had been standing under the sun for more than thirty minutes, waiting. His patience was wearing thin. He didn't understand why the Princess couldn't show up on time. He hated wasting time, especially for people who thought the world had to wait for them. Spoilt Princesses never changed. They always made everything about themselves. The time had been fixed, and he had kept to it. So why couldn't she?
He shifted his weight from one foot to the other, clearly annoyed. He was already sweating, and the day had barely begun.
"The Princess is coming," one of the men said.
Xavier didn't bother turning around. He was too upset to look. All he wanted was to begin the training and get it over with. In fact, he wished she would just change her mind and cancel it altogether. That would save them both the trouble.
Then he heard a voice.
"Where is the person who will teach me how to ride a horse?"
