Scene 4.0: Aetherial Sea, Time: Unknown, Age: Climax of the Ninth Umbral Calamity
After regaining her senses, Runa is distraught in witnessing the evil within her counterpart take over her mind, body and soul in an alternate reality. The corrupted Black DRG Armor along with her RPR Scythe which she uses in killing everyone she knew and loved was too traumatic to bear. Luminescence sees Runa still in disbelief, that she can't blame the Au Ra being in this state of mind as the Devil Goddess was in this position before becoming the Chaotic Deity she is today. Luminescence remembers the time she was innocent herself and living normally until she was forced into the warrior's life as a mercenary; killing off Evil Nobles, Corrupt Politicians, Oppressive Royals and Scummy Leaders around the world manipulating the masses through emotions instead of leading through Example, Logic and Critical Thinking. The only reason she stopped that way of life and became who she is today was falling in love with her counterpart and rival, Darkescence that she became who she is now. Luminescence knows that the only way to help Runa overcome the curse is to be aware of it still being part of her and confront it head-on, but the only way to do that is to be brutally honest and upfront about it just like the love of her life made her confront her own darkness hidden in her heart.

What can I say? I am a passionate Deity that hides her true self using Insanity as an excuse. Perfect way to work in peace while everyone is calling me insane and while letting themselves get too full of overconfidence that when the world collapses, I'll be bragging that I was right all along. Just like the Ant and the Grasshopper Story. The Ant worked his ass off preparing for winter while the Grasshopper was playing and making fun of the Ant. When Winter came, the Ant's Hard Work payed off and the Grasshopper froze to death. The Ant could've saved the Grasshopper, but the Grasshopper was nothing but a lazy bum that cared for no one but himself. The only way for society to learn from their follies is to make people like the Grasshopper suffer the Consequences of their Actions and let them fix the problem themselves. I might sound heartless, but to save the world, emotions needs to be the very last thing to be considered when making any type of decision to save it, but you already knew that, didn't you? The Death of all of those close to you has made you experience that reality. Papalymo Totolymo, Moenbryda, Haurchefant, Minfilia Warde, Hydaelyn...their deaths drove you to the point that you resorted to your emotions instead of rational thought. But that is understandable. When life is taken before its time unjustly, avoiding feeling emotional is next to impossible. Even your enemies' deaths has made you see said follies…Ilberd, Livia sas Junius, Rhitahtyn sas Arvina, Hermes better known as Fandaniel and Amon, Asahi, Varis yae Galvus, Emet-Selch, Lahabrea, Thordan VII, Nabriales, Quickthinx Allthoughts, Mitron, Elidibus, Athena...all of them driven by irrational emotions. Now…should we abolish emotions entirely? No. Some reactions are overblown at times, I am not going to lie, but when people do not punish wrongful deeds accordingly, it is understandable to be frustrated and call it out. If ignored, the situation will escalate to the point that revolutionary war is inevitable.

Scene 4.1: Eorzea, Southern Thanalan, Age: 22 Years Before The Seventh Umbral Calamity
As they journey across the desert under the burning sun, Marcello, Khadagan, Venase and Čestislav are heading to Little Ala Mhigo in Southern Thanalan assist the refugees in dealing with the attacks from the Amalj'aa Tribe from Zahar'ak who are kidnapping people in order to sacrifice them to their god, Ifrit. They also managed to slay Zombies that are killing all who they see in their path. With their combined effort, Marcello's Party manages to increase the chances of Little Ala Mhigo's Survival by slaying the Zombies nearby and pushing back against the Amalj'aa during nocturnal assaults. Even though Khadagan finds Marcello annoying, she can't help but to actually see him as a reliable ally, but he still gets on her nerves with his nonsensical carefree attitude. As for Čestislav and Venase, the Hrothgar is working on his crafting and selling the items he made with the materials he got while they are in that area. Even though Venase has her eyes on both Marcello & Khadagan, but seeing how dexterously talented Čestislav is, she is starting to see him work with his crafting as she has heard that the Hrothgars of Bozja are technically Jacks & Jills-Of-All-Trades; able to master any job with relative ease and the one thing Venase can't resist are talented hands at work no matter whose it is.
Scene 4.2: Eorzea, La Noscea, Age: 21 Years Before The Seventh Umbral Calamity
After dealing with the Amalj'aa and the Zombies, The Yellowjackets send a messenger to request the party who fought alongside the people of Ala Mhigo: they request them to deal with the Sahagin & Kobold Tribes terrorizing the citizens of La Noscea. They arrived at Limsa Lominsa the following days and are welcomed by a Female Roegadyn who works under Eynzahr Slafyrsyn, but is representing Limsa on behalf of Admiral Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn and gives the Marcello's Party a bunch of marks to take out which not only included the Sahagin & Kobold Targets, but also specific monsters that they are utilizing to centralize their power in their territories. This Roegadyn Aid tells them that if Marcello and his party destabilize their enemies control over the region, they would be handsomely rewarded for the efforts. As for the effort for them to do for the missions they were asked, it took them almost a year to complete due to them moving between areas in order to fight off both Tribes. In order to move easily move between Outer La Noscea & Western La Noscea, they needed to setup base at Camp Bronze Lake in Upper La Noscea as it is located in-between both Outer & Western La Noscea. They decided that Marcello & Khadagan would take on the Sahagin Tribes in Western La Noscea and Venase & Čestislav would deal with the Kobold Tribes in Outer La Noscea. During that year, Čestislav & Khadagan taught both Venase & Marcello how to fish, but since the entrance to The Wanderer's Palace is next to the best fishing spot in all ofUpper La Noscea, they would encounter Tonberries every now and then. During their stay there, they grew closer to one another with Čestislav & Marcello becoming best friends and rivals; Venase & Čestislav finally started becoming a couple after he saved her from almost getting crushed to death during a cave-in at the U'Ghamaro Mines due to a botched mission, but they were saved by a Kobold Child who would grow up to be the leader of the 789th Order: Gi Gu. As for Marcello & Khadagan, they got assistance from White Scaled Sahagins, but they never interacted with each other directly, just like the same situation they went through with the Amalj'aa wearing Blue Colors during their stay at Southern Thanalan. Seeing them bond like this, Runa wonders what caused them to walk away from each other as Luminescence tell her the answers to that question were always hidden in Gridania.
Scene 4.3: Eorzea, Black Shroud, Age: 20 Years Before The Seventh Umbral Calamity
After completing their mission in destabilizing both the Kobold and Sahagin Tribes, Marcello and his party finally arrives at Gridania and much to their surprise, Khadagan receives a warm welcome by a redheaded Miqo'te, a bulky Roegadyn and a blonde Elezen who happen to be her friends while living there with the Elezen and Miqo'te being a members of the Archers' Guild, the Roegadyn being a member of the Leatherworkers' Guild. They tell Khadagan that Viera Royalty from the Veena Clan is in Gridania to reserve The Sanctum of the Twelve for a Grand Wedding between him and a Viera Rava Princess. Upon hearing the words "Rava Princess", Marcello looks at Venase only for her to look away. Marcello knows what is going on as Venase is his childhood friend. While staying at the Inn that night, Marcello confronts her on it…
Marcello:
Venase…why didn't you tell me you were engaged to be married by your parents' royal decree?
Venase:
(Annoyed)
Because I wanted to be with you! Not him! It was my parents' decision in order to unify our clans. I was never interested in that fool. I was interested in you…and Khadagan…
(Blushing)

Sorry, V. I love you, but…after spending almost 2 years with Khadagan…I don't think polygamy marriage would work out for us. So I suggest you settle down with Čestislav only. I've been having talks with him and he really likes you.

Since you told me about Čestislav's feelings, I'll tell you Khadagan's…she really is into you too. Of course she finds you annoying to the point she wants to punch you hard enough to send you flying across the room, but she's really into you.

Good thing fighting Raubahn and the Amalj'aa all those years ago hardened my body enough to prevent me to be sent flying.
Venase:
I hope Julyan never test that out one day. What can you tell me about Čestislav?
Marcello tells everything he is allowed say about Čestislav without saying anything that can hurt his chances to get together with Venase. Meanwhile Khadagan is showing Čestislav around Gridania with her favorite spot being Apkallu Falls. There they see a rare sight: a Moonflower in the water. They take it and start talking about Moon Related names like Luna, Artemis, Devana, Lysithea, Mare, Selena and even the Dusk Mother of the Azim Steppe's name, Nhaama; that they jokingly say they'd name their daughters with one of those names one day. Runa is taken aback in learning on how the conception of the names of her and her sister took place, but wonders why give the Hyur Name, Luna to her, an Au Ra and the Au Ra Name to her Older Sister who is a Hyur. Luminescence chuckles as the reason for that will become clear soon enough.
One day, a member of the Wood Wailers returned to Gridania calling for help as the Veena Prince is being attacked by a horde of Morbols at East Shroud and asked for every available adventurer to assist in saving him. Venase didn't want to go because it would accelerate her union with the prince, but out of everyone in Gridania, she is the only one whose healing magic surpasses even the Guildmaster of the Conjurers' Guild, E-Sumi-Yan by a large degree due to her high concentration of Aether. Khadagan didn't want to go due to her Phobia towards Seedkins like the Morbols, but she believed she could overcome her fears of Seedkins with the help of her friends…she was wrong as she saw a large number of Wood Wailers suffering the effects of the Morbols' Bad Breath as she is petrified, sweating cold sweats and hyperventilating in terror at the sight, that her trauma made her an easy target for the Great Morbol as it approaches her in order to devour the Au Ra. Marcello rushes to her aid and singlehandedly saves Khadagan by slaying the monster as the Au Ra faints into a coma due to the stress overload.
Back in Gridania at the Conjurers' Guild, Venase's healing magic can't help Khadagan snap from her coma, so E-Sumi-Yan suggested them to seek out the Elder of the Sylphs, Frixio for assistance in finding a cure for the Au Ra. Marcello heads to Little Solace alone to meet Frixio, meanwhile the Veena Prince reunites with Venase much to her dismay and Čestislav's jealousy. As Marcello arrives at Little Solace, Frixio tells him that there is a cure located in an area northeast of the Sylphlands called Moonspore Grove and there he can find a fungus that can help Khadagan recover, but he needs to be careful as the Followers of Ramuh have been gathering their power in order to start their own revolution against Eorzea with their god. Marcello heads to the Moonspore Grove and tries to avoid fighting with the enemies in the area. He successfully reaches the grove and grabs a few samples of the gargantuan fungi there so he can have someone from either Little Solace or Gridania synthesize a medicine to help Khadagan.
Upon returning to help Khadagan, Marcello notices tensions between Venase, Čestislav and the Veena Prince; although he wants to help them sort out their situation, but Khadagan's current dilemma came first. After giving her the medicine, it would take up to minimum of days or weeks at maximum before she wakes up, prompting Marcello to find out what is happening with his friends. It all turned out as he predicted with Venase having no choice but to marry the prince in order to avoid the civil war between their clans and Čestislav against the whole thing. Marcello asks Čestislav to accompany him to The Bannock in Central Shroud to have a talk about the situation with Venase. As soon as they arrived, Marcello tosses a Gunblade at Čestislav and challenges him to a battle. This confuses Čestislav, but Marcello tells the Hrothgar that he never got the chance to fight him at the Mythril Cup 2 years ago after he lost to Raubahn in the quarter finals. Čestislav laugh as he remembers that Marcello saved him using Shield Toss in order to stop Raubahn from brutalizing him to death. They laugh until Čestislav grabs the hilt of the Gunblade, he figured that this Gunblade is of Bozjan Origin. Marcello reveals that he earned that Lion Heart Replica Gunblade after training with a Bozjan Refugee. Čestislav decides to go all out now that he has the weapon he is used to be his main style in his possession. They clashed to finally see who would have won if they had met in the finals and they used all of the skills they know in order to show their respect towards one another. Čestislav's GNB Moveset and Marcello's PLD Moveset was a thrill to see for every onlooker watching their fight. After the battle ends, Marcello advices Čestislav to elope with Venase and she will love him for the rest of their lives. Čestislav wonders if this won't start the civil war, but Marcello assures him that after getting the Moonspore Fungi, he found some special herbs that have the ability to fakes one's death, but she needs to take the antidote before the day is over or the Fake Death becomes a permanent one.
Čestislav takes the Fake Death Medicine and heads to Venase to tells her about the plan he & Marcello came up with. But they hope Khadagan wakes up before it takes place so they can say their goodbyes to each other. The plan for them to elope is to cut ties with everyone by faking her death and plan on living on the Far East as both Čestislav & Khadagan have acquaintances living in Kugane & Shirogane, so that is another reason why they need to wait for the Au Ra to wake up. A week later, Khadagan wakes up with tears in her eyes and sees Marcello sleeping by her side. Khadagan can't help but to cry even more as she dreamt of 3 girls with Silver Platinum Hair: A Highlander, an Au Ra and a Midlander with their eyes being different colors: Green, Red and Yellow respectively. The Highlander Girl behaved like Marcello, the Au Ra Girl resembling herself in her youth and the Midlander Girl is emotionless. Seeing those girls in her dreams for some reason felt a deep connection, even more so to that she can't help but to cry. Not to wake up Marcello, Khadagan sneaks into the bathroom and takes a shower as she wonders if those girls are his and Marcello's daughters, but neither him or her have Silver hair and the Midlander girl doesn't look like her or Marcello, so who is she wonders.
After getting out of the shower, Khadagan sees that Marcello is still asleep, meaning that he has been staying up all night trying to see if she was doing alright. After putting her Light Steel Armor on, she takes the blanket, sits besides Marcello and cover themselves up as she feels happy being with him after all the two of them went through the past 2 years; and even though she didn't like him at first, he started to grow on her and that dream where she spent time with those 3 girls, something inside her tells her that this is feels like the right course to live her life from now on. Marcello wakes up only for Khadagan to fall asleep moments before; he doesn't want to wake her up, so he went back to sleep. A few hours later they reunite with Čestislav & Venase and tells everything to Khadagan; the Au Ra is taken aback in both sadness and excitement: Excitement that both Čestislav & Venase are finally getting together; Saddened because when this Fake Death Mission is successful, they will never see each other ever again. But she wishes for their happiness, so she will help. Since Khadagan has an uncontrollable phobia of Seedkins, they can't do this attempt in the Black Shroud; They can't do it at sea due to renegade pirates and Sahagins at the shores of La Noscea; And The Brass Blade of Thanalan are so corrupt, members of this organization has done very unspeakable acts behind the scenes, which also includes desecration of the dead, that also included Necrophilia. So they decide to fulfill the plan in Marcello's Homeland…
Scene 4.4: Eorzea, Dravania, Morning
They arrive at Tailfeather in order to come up with ideas on how exactly to proceed. The Dravanian Forelands is part of Hraesvelgr & Nidhogg's Territory, so battling the Dragons to Fake Venase's Death is not a good idea same for the Gnaths as they also eat corpses, so the only plan they can come up is fighting the Goblins at the Dravanian Hinterlands, but when they get there, Khadagan starts panicking as soon as she sees the Great Morbols in the area which unfortunately they have no choice to do the deed at the Dravanian Forelands. Unfortunately for them, Nidhogg's Dravanian Horde is in the area attacking everyone that gets near Anyx Trine, but Nidhogg senses a familiar power emanating from Khadagan, so he orders his Horde to take her. While they are getting ready to fake Venase's death, they are attacked by Nidhogg's Horde and in the commotion, they kidnap Khadagan. Marcello gives chase, but is swarmed by the Horde, stopping him from the rescue attempt. Čestislav & Venase assures Marcello that they will save her, but the PLD has a bad feeling about this as Nidhogg's Dravanian Horde is never known to kidnap people, so something is definitely off.
At Sohm Al, Nidhogg couldn't wait at his lair of The Aery, so the Black Dragon confronts Khadagan there on why she seems to have the same essence as his brood, Faunehm, Khadagan refuses to answer but instead she glares at him with strong a defiance. Nidhogg finds this amusing and wonders if she will be more cooperative once he breaks her mind through forcing himself onto her as he begins to take advantage of her for days on end. It took almost 2 weeks to find and rescue Khadagan and just like Nidhogg promised, the Au Ra's mind has been broken that her expression is no different than that of a Zombie, but even through that horrible time being taken advantaged of, Khadagan refused to tell Nidhogg anything. Runa is traumatized after finding out that this is how Nidhogg placed his curse on her as she noticed that when the Black Dragon was having his way with her mother, he placed his mark in her. After saving Khadagan, Čestislav & Venase had to elope before everyone finds out Venase is not dead as they want Marcello tell everyone that they died trying to rescue Khadagan, so they can't wait for the Au Ra to fully recover to see them off.
A few months later, Khadagan lays a Black Egg courtesy of Nidhogg's having his way with her, but she asks Marcello to destroy it. He hesitantly does it and kills the unhatched Black Dragon Brood. Runa finally learns something she never expected: She's not her mother's second child, she her mother's 3rd child and is appalled that her mother demanded her father to kill it and he appeared that he didn't want to do it, but because she was suffering because of what Nidhogg did to her, he submitted to her wishes. Runa is torn about this revelation coming to light. Meanwhile living in Kugane, Čestislav & Venase are living happily especially that the Viera is pregnant with their first child; months later she gave birth to a Healthy Hrothgar Girl and she decided to call her Devana as Čestislav told her the names he and Khadagan were talking about days before the Morbol incident. If they have a second child, they decided to call her "Artemis" and Venase guarantees it is going to be a female as the birthrate of Viera females are more abundant than Male Vieras. Around the same time, Khadagan gave birth to her first child with Marcello, they were talking on the names to pick with them settling on 2 names as they want to have only two children: Nhaama & Runa and decided that their first born to be named Nhaama because they believe their first born will be an Au Ra, but instead it's a lively Highlander Girl that resembles the girl in Khadagan's dream. So she believes that her next born will be either the Au Ra or the Midlander, or possibly they could be twins. Now Runa understands why she ended up with a Hyur Name and her Older Sister was given the name of the Au Ra Moon Deity. Runa facepalm with both hands in shame to the idea that the Firstborn gets the Au Ra Name and the Secondborn gets the Hyur Name.
A few years later, Venase gave birth to her Viera Daughter, Artemis and Khadagan gave birth to Runa on the same day. Devana loves her younger sister the first day she saw her as she looked like a lighter version of their mother. She tried to touch her cheek, but is afraid her Hrothgar Claw might scar her that she pulls her hand away; but before it's out of range, the sleeping Artemis grabs her sister's index finger which makes her really happy that she tears up. At Dravania, Nhaama is celebrating that her sister is born and Khadagan is happy seeing her daughter happy to have a sister. While celebrating, a small convoy of Wood Wailers arrives at the Pendragon Doorstep with 3 young girls: A Roegadyn named Selena, an Elezen named Mare and a Miqo'te named R'ysithea. They are the daughters of Khadagan's friends in Gridania and much to her sorrow, the Au Ra's friends died during an Ixali Raid on Hyrstmill along with their husbands. Seeing the girls' sadness, Nhaama decides to befriend them, but do so gently and slowly so they didn't get more depressed and hurt. After a few months, the girls became close friends and a lot happier thanks to Nhaama's kindness. Seeing this Marcello decides to expand his home into an orphanage.
Čestislav, seeing tensions rise because of the Garlean Empire, decides to take up arms once again to fight against them, but he is doing so not because he wants revenge on what happened at Bozja, but to make sure his daughters have a thriving future. Čestislav asks Venase to take the girls to Dravania and live with Marcello and Khadagan's Family until it's safe. Venase didn't want to, but she knew that Čestislav is right. Devana refuses to abandon her father and demanded to follow him. She wants to fight alongside him to protect her baby sister. Čestislav knows Female Hrothgars are far more stubborn than the Males especially that she takes after her mother's attitude more than him, so he concedes and decides to bring her along. When arriving in Dravania, Venase decided to stay in Idyllshire and sends her infant daughter, Artemis to Marcello and Khadagan's Orphanage.
For years, Moonflower Orphanage was the home of many children that lost their families due to the war brought about the Garlean Empire, Nidhogg's Horde, Beast Tribes, Bandits, Pirates, Tempered and/or Unhinged Criminals. One of the orphans was a Lalafell Girl from U'dah whose parents were killed by associates of Teledji Adeledji was sent there along with a letter from his friend, Godbert Manderville that the Sultan, Sasabal Ul Sisibal and his wife Nanasha Ul Nasha abruptly perished in an accident, but before they passed away they told Godbert to send Solaris Soltaris to Marcello & Khadagan's Orphanage. Nhaama, who is the heart and soul of the orphanage, helped Solaris get better to the point the Lalafell developed a crush on the Highlander Girl, but also developed a rivalry with Runa as the Au Ra child is is shown to be a fast learner, but the reason she became Runa's Rival is so she can impress Nhaama and see her in a positive light as a Jill-Of-All-Trades. A few weeks after Solaris joined the orphanage, Marcello found a young child the same age as Runa, left for dead after being attacked by Gnaths; he rushes to her and heals the girl before returning home. This girl is Runa's adopted younger sister, the Midlander Lina Pendragon.
Scene 4.5: Aetherial Sea, Time: Unknown, Age: Climax of the Ninth Umbral Calamity
Runa finally sees how it all went down between her parents and Artemis & Devana's Parents and how her home became an orphanage named "Moonflower". She also learned how her adopted younger sister, Lina came into her life and why Venase didn't visited them even though she was living close by in Idyllshire. She started to understand and even love how caring and dependable her father truly is, but she knows judging her age in this flashback, the tragedy of her mother's death will be taking place and she doesn't know how to feel revisiting them.

I know what is like reliving a Nightmare of the Past. Seeing the Horrors of the Future is disturbing, but you have a better chance of preventing it from happening.
