Zara quickly dropped her hands, jerking away from Ace. Her eyes were wide like someone that had been caught committing a crime.
But Ace on the other hand didn't budge. He just dropped his hands, still facing away as Zara walked up to Kendrick.
"Uh…hey," she stuttered, breathless.
Kendrick forced a polite smile, "You look really beautiful."
Zara grinned, biting her lower lip in embarrassment.
Kendrick shifted his gaze to Ace, "Mr. Carter, how are you doing?"
Ace slowly turned but he didn't respond. His face was hardened, his jaws tight as he walked past towards them.
Kendrick's eyes followed him thinking he was trying to close the gap before answering, but Ace just walked straight past them towards the door.
He opened it, then turned back, briefly locking eyes with Zara, "I've set the appointment. I'll send the details to you."
Zara knew he was talking about the therapist and just nodded, 'Why didn't he say this earlier.'
