Sage Jutsu's attack had landed!
Naruto's Sage Art: Rasengan struck Obito squarely in the torso. Blood dripped from the corner of Obito's mouth—undeniable proof that the attack had worked.
Obito's body was expanding, as though on the verge of rupture. His chakra surged wildly, chaotic and unstable.
"Ahhhh...!" Obito howled in pain, mumbling incoherently, "Rin… my Rin..."
Minato, seeing the moment of vulnerability, spoke urgently, "Naruto, now's our chance. The power of the Ten-Tails is overwhelming him—he can't fully control it. If we're going to end this, it has to be now. We need to exploit his instability and take him down in one strike."
Jiraiya had successfully entered Sage Mode, but for this battle, he didn't summon Fukasaku and Shima. This time, he fought alone.
"I couldn't agree more," Jiraiya said, cracking his knuckles. "Minato, Naruto—let's hit him together! Never thought the three of us would team up in battle. And come to think of it, you're both my students. So, Naruto, technically you should be calling me 'Dad' and 'Senior Brother' at the same time!"
Minato chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head. "Jiraiya-sensei… we're really doing this now?"
Naruto kept his focus on Obito, whose unstable form kept pulsing with chaotic chakra. "Everyone, be careful. Those Truth-Seeking Orbs are lethal. Don't get touched by them. Let's hit him with everything we've got!"
"Alright! I'll go first," Minato said. "Let me use my Spiraling Flash Super Round Dance Howl Style Three to open a path!"
He pulled out six marked kunai and hurled them toward Obito with expert precision.
Tobirama grunted. "Fourth Hokage… honestly, besides being naturally foolish, you're a genius at naming your jutsu. Normally, I'd laugh at something like 'Super Round Dance Howl Style Three'… but standing in front of this abomination, there's nothing funny at all."
Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, chuckled faintly. He seemed to enjoy Tobirama's sarcasm, even in dire moments.
Obito's body continued to balloon grotesquely. Finally, his form was completely engulfed in the black chakra mass of the Ten-Tails.
Inside his psyche, Obito's soul remained bound to the Ten-Tails' roots. Unable to master the Jinchūriki transformation, his body was being torn apart—first his arms, then his legs, and finally, his head.
He screamed in agony, unwilling to surrender. If the Ten-Tails consumed him fully, his consciousness would be lost. Obito Uchiha would cease to exist.
A single image surfaced in his mind—an old photo of his team. Rin. Kakashi. A younger him. Minato-sensei.
He howled again in despair, and in that memory, Rin's part of the photo tore apart next.
Outside, Minato dashed forward. "I'm coming, Obito!"
Obito, now barely conscious and with only one eye left, looked up. "Who... are you?"
Inside the mental realm, the Ten-Tails yanked viciously at what remained of his mind. With a violent crack, Obito's head split in half.
The photo was ripped down the middle.
His Sharingan shattered.
At that exact moment, just as his consciousness was about to fade entirely, a voice rang out—light, clear, and full of warmth.
"Obito!"
A voice like a songbird echoed through his soul. Obito snapped awake. The broken Sharingan closed shut.
"Rin! Rin! I can't... I can't lose...!"
"AHHHHHHH!"
With sheer willpower, Obito's spirit fought back. One by one, his limbs were ripped from the Ten-Tails and reassembled. His torn body reformed, piece by piece.
Even the photo—corner by corner—restored itself.
He was Obito Uchiha. He had not forgotten who he was. He had not forgotten Rin.
As the smoke cleared, Obito stood tall, clad in his new form—the Ten-Tails Jinchūriki. Eight Truth-Seeking Orbs floated ominously behind him. In his right hand, he held the Shakujo—the Six Paths Staff.
He opened his eyes and looked at Minato, who was rushing toward him.
"It's done, Minato-sensei," Obito said quietly.
Minato's kunai slashed down, but Obito blocked it effortlessly with the Shakujo. The kunai shattered instantly. Obito's other hand morphed a Truth-Seeking Orb, preparing to launch it.
Naruto reacted quickly, forming hand seals.
With a whoosh, he used the reverse summoning formula of the Flying Thunder God Technique, teleporting Minato away just as the orb exploded. The blast created a massive cloud of smoke and debris.
Tobirama shouted, "Naruto! What happened?"
Naruto gritted his teeth. "Obito's gained complete control of the Ten-Tails. This... this is where the real fight begins. But our strength now—this time—is far greater than it was in my last life. I let him evolve… for this moment."
Minato and Jiraiya both understood the weight of his words. He was referring to the Obito he had faced in his past life.
Jiraiya smiled. "The death toll in this war is far lower than it should be. Naruto, you've already changed history."
Naruto kept his gaze fixed on Obito. "Not yet, Jiraiya-sensei. We've still got a long way to go."
From the HQ, Shikaku Nara connected to Naruto via Inoichi's Telepathy Jutsu.
"Naruto, should I mobilize the Allied Shinobi Forces?"
Naruto shook his head. "No. Keep them away. This fight… it's beyond them. If they get involved, it'll only lead to more deaths. Do you understand, Uncle Shikaku?"
Shikaku fell silent for a moment. Then he replied, "Understood."
Naruto suddenly vanished and reappeared beside Tobirama. He placed a seal for Flying Thunder God, then coordinated it with Minato and Tobirama, tagging each other.
Tobirama caught on immediately. "You want me and the Fourth Hokage to switch places using Flying Thunder God?"
Naruto nodded. "Exactly. Next, I'll attack with Sasuke. You and my dad provide cover. Whatever you do—don't let those Truth-Seeking Orbs touch you. Even if you're Edo Tensei, Obito's using Yin-Yang Release—you won't regenerate if hit."
Hiruzen's brow furrowed. "That level of power… it's terrifying."
Jiraiya stepped up. "Naruto, what about me?"
Naruto replied, "Sensei, stay back and coordinate with the Third. Once our strike lands, you two follow up."
Jiraiya and Hiruzen nodded.
"Alright! Let's go!"
Naruto shouted, and Sasuke sprang into action.
"Jūgo, stay here!" Sasuke ordered, then activated Amaterasu, sending black flames straight at Obito.
Obito calmly swung his Shakujo, dispersing the flames. "Don't bother. You hid chakra in your eyes ahead of time—I could see it coming."
Sasuke clicked his tongue and ran forward. Naruto yelled, "Sasuke, I said together! Don't rush in alone!"
He caught up with Sasuke and matched his pace. "We do this together!"
Naruto created a Wind Style: Rasenshuriken. Sasuke immediately understood and combined it with Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi.
"Didn't you say Sage Chakra is effective against him?" Sasuke asked, skeptical.
Naruto narrowed his eyes. "I'm infusing it now!"
Naruto channeled Senjutsu chakra into the fused technique.
Meanwhile, Tobirama reappeared behind Obito with a teleport, thanks to the earlier Tandem Explosive Tag mark.
Obito frowned. "A pincer attack?"
Tobirama smirked. "Half right."
Minato used Flying Thunder God to teleport Naruto in front of Obito—just in time.
Sasuke and Naruto's combined technique hit Obito's chest head-on.
"Nidaime!" Minato called out.
Tobirama slapped his seal and yelled, "Understood! Let's go—Flying Thunder God: Mutual Instantaneous Revolving Technique!"
Fwoosh—with a hum, Obito, Tobirama, and Minato swapped positions in an instant!
"Now, Sasuke—go full force!"
Naruto shouted.
"I got it!" Sasuke roared, and together they pushed the Rasenshuriken infused with black flames deeper into Obito's chest.
Tobirama held Obito in place from behind, keeping him from escaping.
Meanwhile, Minato found himself face-to-face with the cluster of Truth-Seeking Orbs.
Looking at the massive attack, he grumbled, "I'll call this... Scorch Style: Light Wheel Gale… Damn it, forget the name—just GO!"
The fused technique—a burning black wind blade—spun violently and exploded against Obito's chest, magnified by Senjutsu.
Obito grunted in pain. "You used Flying Thunder God to switch positions?"
Tobirama smirked coldly. "Enjoy the moment… because I'm out."
Whoosh! He teleported away just as the explosion went off.
Obito was blasted into a boulder, and with a thunderous boom, black flames burned and wind chakra sliced through the air.
Whirlwind Cutting. Black Flame Burning.
The true battle had just begun.
