Chapter 26 - 26. The reason for his haste.

Festus, who had thought that bringing his men to faithfully agree to serve and follow Cassius would take a bit of force at least, was rather bewildered to see how easily the knights of Cazroth had shifted their loyalty.

It took no force and Cassius' words had not been far too lengthened. It was brief and concise making his intent clear yet somehow the men had bowed their heads to him…

Almost as though they were bewitched.

It was already supposed to be something worth jesting about—that the dead emperor from over three hundred years ago had returned.

It was not something people would receive so easily. The knight's first reaction were how Festus had expected them to behave.

He had expected them to show their displeasure far longer than they did.

Yet in less than half an hour, without shedding a single blood, Cassius had made them his people.

It made no sense but he had done it. It was absurd to think of how easily he did it but he had done it.
