Romance was nothing more than a feeling.
For sorcerers, it was something exceedingly rare.
The reason was simple. Sorcerers were homebodies by nature, and trying to do something romantic almost always led to complications.
Take fireworks, for example.
If a sorcerer deliberately set off fireworks, it was very likely that the person watching them wouldn't be admiring the view-but instead discussing what magic was used.
What light composition.
What color ratios.
How to optimize the spell structure.
These kinds of conversations were practically inevitable.
That was why sorcerers were terrible at romance, especially the spontaneous kind.
Still, this feeling was worth savoring for Noah.
Just not for too long.
He had far too many things to do.
First on the list was the matter of parallel universes.
Before, Noah had been too weak. Even if he went, he wouldn't have been able to properly protect the Time Stone.
More importantly, time didn't flow consistently between universes. From that perspective, there was no need for him to rush at all.
There was also a critical issue.
The Ancient One hadn't yet reached the level required to send Noah across.
Divine transformation wasn't just a complete change of life-it was a complete evolution of power.
The Ancient One herself hadn't reached that stage yet. How could she send Noah?
Originally, her plan had been to ask King Odin for help once Noah was strong enough.
After all, it was a promise she had made, and Odin certainly had the ability to do it.
But now things were different.
After learning domain magic, the Ancient One no longer needed to worry about catastrophic damage to her body and soul.
She could wait.
She could reach that level herself, and then personally send Noah to the parallel universe.
Her estimate was one to two years.
That wasn't long.
She could wait.
But Noah needed to prepare.
"I can see fragments of the future around Mr. Banner," the Ancient One said calmly. "It seems Thanos from another timeline discovered them."
"Is that so?" Noah nodded slowly. "Then this trip is going to be troublesome."
Noah knew exactly what that meant.
In the original timeline, Nebula from another universe had been accidentally discovered by her present-self while attempting to retrieve the Power Stone.
That discovery drew Thanos's attention.
And once Thanos crossed that line, he abandoned all restraint.
He entered the Avengers' world with a single goal.
Killing.
If it hadn't been for Thor's desperate resistance, Steve Rogers lifting Mjolnir, and Thanos's subordinates being underwhelming, that world would've been finished long ago.
Noah had always known he would face a nearly full-strength Thanos.
Originally, his plan was simple.
Show up.
Do nothing.
Let Tony snap.
End of story.
But now?
Noah had other thoughts.
He wanted to test Thanos.
Of course, under the cover of Fat Thor.
No matter how decadent Thor had become, he was still Thor of Asgard.
Stormbreaker.
Divine lightning.
Even in that state, Thor could hold Thanos's attention.
For a long time.
"If it really comes down to it," Noah muttered, "I'll just drag this Thor along too. I refuse to believe we can't take down one Thanos."
"And if we still can't..."
"Then I should just quit."
With that thought, Noah bid farewell to the Ancient One.
He needed time to think.
But after a short while, Noah decided it would be better to see Thor.
There was more than one thing he needed to talk to him about.
"What a busy life," Noah sighed. "Just got back, and now I'm heading to Asgard again. When do I ever get real rest?"
With a wave of his hand, a portal opened.
Noah stepped through.
Asgard.
Teleportation magic had become smoother and smoother for him. Even traveling from Earth to Ego's planet would've been a trivial spell at this point.
The Asgardian guards noticed his arrival and showed no surprise.
They were already familiar with Noah, the Earth sorcerer.
One of them even smiled and went to inform Thor.
Not long after, Thor and Loki arrived.
By then, Noah had already been escorted into a palace.
Such treatment was rare.
"You're back already?" Thor dropped down beside him. "So fast? How'd it go? Damn it, my father wouldn't let me leave."
"Very smoothly," Noah replied with a smile. "And the rewards were substantial."
He briefly described the battle with Ego, ending with, "Fortunately, he was too old. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have made it back. But because of that, I've entered a stronger state."
"That's amazing," Thor said sincerely, envy clear in his eyes. "Congratulations, my friend."
Noah smiled but said nothing more.
Odin not letting Thor leave was only natural.
First, Ronan-a Kree general-had been killed. That alone required vigilance.
Second, Odin was publicly claiming to be near death and grooming Thor for succession. Letting Thor run around freely now would make no sense.
And third, Thor didn't need extra powers.
He just needed to master what he already had.
So the benefits fell to Noah.
That pleased the Ancient One.
And put Noah in Asgard's debt.
Odin handled everything perfectly.
Even Loki probably hadn't seen all of this.
"So why are you here?" Loki finally spoke, clearly displeased. "To show off? Congratulations. You succeeded."
"Looking for trouble?" Noah raised an eyebrow. "Or do you think the rain stopped and now you're impressive again?"
"..."
Loki immediately shut up.
The London Sanctuary was a lifelong nightmare.
Noah glanced at him, amused.
Tsundere to the extreme.
But Loki wasn't bad.
Noah didn't press him.
It was only natural for Loki to be irritated.
Think about it.
He'd chased his brother.
Chased his father.
Then suddenly, some kid from Earth appeared.
A kid his father respected.
A kid his brother admired.
How could Loki accept that?
Especially since Loki knew-deep down-that Noah was genuinely formidable.
Shaking his head, Noah turned back to Thor.
"I had Peter's group form a team."
"A team?" Thor stroked his chin. "You're getting into Ravager business? That's not ideal. Unless you're trying to regulate them."
"Please," Noah rolled his eyes. "I can barely manage one Sanctum. I don't have time for Ravagers."
"I just asked them to do good deeds and help me collect magical materials."
"I see." Thor nodded. "That makes sense."
After thinking for a moment, he added, "As long as it's within Asgard's territory, I can give them some convenience."
"Thanks," Noah smiled. "I may also need you to talk to Xandar. I'm planning to open a travel program. It's hard for Earth sorcerers to get out."
"Easy," Thor said confidently. "Leave it to me."
Xandar had no reason to refuse.
Thor and Noah had saved them before.
This really was a small matter.
But Thor sensed something.
Noah hadn't come just for this.
Sure enough, after finishing these topics, Noah's expression turned serious.
"There's something else I need your opinion on."
Thor straightened.
Even Loki focused.
"What is it?"
Noah looked at them both.
"What do you think about going to a new parallel universe?"
"A parallel universe?" Thor and Loki exchanged looks.
They'd been to such places before.
They didn't dislike the idea.
If anything, it was interesting.
"Is that it?" Loki scoffed.
"Of course not," Noah replied calmly. "Because this one is a different branch of the same world."
"And it's the future."
"What?"
