Ficool

Chapter 29 - Chapter 29: Salvation.

Phylicia falls to the floor again from fear, unable to move.

"I can't move..."- she assures, scared- ' I need to help them, but I can't, it's useless no matter how hard I try, I can't move'- says Phylicia.

Seeing her determination and feeling a little better, I struggled to my feet.

"Calm down. I will protect you."

Even if I do it to calm her down, I know I am in no position to ensure something of such magnitude.

With what little strength I have left, I walk towards the other boys, ready to use the last of my remaining strength to fight even with my fingernails if necessary.

A somewhat nostalgic smile comes over everyone.

"I knew you weren't going to let us off that easy, Dion," Patrick assures.

"Too bad we couldn't see how far you guys were going to go, you're very talented,"- Aelric assured.

"It's true, I would say you are the best freshman that has ever been in this school."- Nyxithra.

"They exaggerate a bit... but I have to confess that they all have great talents, and Dion... what a powerful magic you have,"- said Talric, a bit chagrined and in a low voice.

"You should loosen up a bit more, Talrico,"- says Patrick with a smile.

"They are right, we can't leave things like this, they can't die here."

"Dion, what are you meaning by can't they?"- Patrick says as he lets his guard down.

"I'm sorry, guys."

These guys are talented enough to keep trying hard and defeat the evil that is coming. Now, with this event, they will know that they are weak and will have to try significantly harder to be able to protect their friends and family.

I know that at this moment you must be hating me for wasting this opportunity you gave me... but I trust that they will make it.

Patrick tries to take my hand again, and the gem throws them all back with a wave of magic. I feel how the gem accumulates more magic and how I have more and more strength, the cyclops still doesn't stop, and every time he feels closer to us, he speeds up the pace.

"Protecto maximo"

An invisible barrier is made in the place where everyone fell, preventing that any spell or attack can affect them, this is a small version unlike the great barrier that protects the academies of the world, it spends a lot of magic, but this time I can perform it effectively thanks to the magical power that the gem is giving me.

The barrier doesn't allow me to hear the desperate screams of patrick and the others, but I get an idea of those words they are shouting, "stop", "don't do this", "you're an idiot", maybe patrick and phylicia won't forgive me, and alphonse will have to live what I lived when I lost him in the past, but... I think I can trust them with this.

Without more talk, he took my wand again, this time with the hand in which the gem gives me more power. The cyclops, almost as if it was smiling, runs more violently with its two legs while hitting the ground with its only arm the ground to propel itself more. Likewise, the wolves are closer and are surrounding me to attack the others as soon as I fall.

With my magic, I cast spells to repel the wolves from attacking first, managed to finish off one of them, but the other one changed its direction and ran directly towards me.

Both bloodthirsty beasts leap towards me without giving me more time to cast a spell, my eyes close, accepting my end so soon...Something I know I shouldn't be doing, I shouldn't give up so easily.

With confidence almost as if everything was in slow motion, I open my eyes and, casting empowering spells, I propel myself at great speed between the cyclops and the wolf to dodge the attack of both.

The cyclops, not knowing to what place I went, looks around for me to the surroundings. I have never felt so much magic flowing in my body, even right now, I feel like I have more magic than I possessed in my past life. This power comes from the gem that shines more brightly.

Although the Cyclops is still looking for me, the wolf manages to detect me more efficiently as it senses my scent, and runs towards me again.

An image again passes through my head, and I see from another position in the cave how the cyclops and the wolf are running directly to me, a strange sensation runs through my body again, and when I come back to myself, I immediately see in the direction of the big door.

A creature of great size, similar to a giant puma, runs directly towards my position. For a moment, I fear that it is another creature that I have to face, but contrary to what I thought, that giant feline of dark fur launches itself against the cyclops to attack with its big teeth and claws.

When I observe better, I can see how that big feline has on its forehead the same gem that I have on my forearm, a gem equal to the one that Iolita also has. Thinking about it, I feel a cold passing through my body, and I see how the creature, while attacking the Cyclops, looks at my eyes for a moment, eyes that light up in the same way as Iolita's when we met.

There is no doubt that the giant feline is Iolita. I don't know how she got here and what that shape is, but by her look, I feel that she is telling me that I am not alone and that she will fight by my side.

A part of me feels relieved and happy to see her again. I feel like she and I are connected more and more. I feel like after seeing us, the power of the gem increased significantly, and now I feel my body lighter. In the same way, I feel like I have more strength and I am faster.

I manage to dodge the wolf's attacks with more agility, without problems, just as if I were another person. Now I can hit the wolf so hard with my own fists and push it away from me when it is close to give me time to cast a spell to finish with the wolf.

While Iolita is in charge of holding the cyclops I manage to position myself on the wolf's back in a fast way, without the wolf noticing it with its sense of smell immediately, I manage in my mind to imagine how the rocks around me lose their rocky shape and are molded as if they were cones spinning at high speed as if they were rockets.

The image that was going through my head became a reality without the need to write a spell. The wolf, noticing my presence behind its back, turns to attack again, but it is too late, the rock projectiles are thrown in a fast way, piercing the wolf repeatedly and leaving it lying on the ground.

On the other hand, I hear how an Iolite shriek is heard on the other side of the battlefield, and when I see her, I can see how the Cyclops, with its strength, grabs her neck, as if it wanted to break it.

Without hesitation, in the same way I ran again at high speed and threw a powerful fire spell, I managed to get Iolita to let go and focus her attention on me again.

Which he does effectively, looking for the one who cast that spell to kill him. A bad idea for the cyclops, who let his guard down and allowed Iolita to attack directly at his neck. Iolita bit with great force the Cyclops' neck, managing to tear and tear a large part of the neck, and the blood was abundant everywhere.

The dying Cyclops takes a few steps and falls heavily against the rocky ground of the battlefield. Iolita had succeeded in defeating the Cyclops. Iolita, on his back, is losing the great size it had and returns to its original form.

Cogeando Iolita runs towards me, who can barely stand up because my body has never broken its limits like now, I feel how my muscles are torn and some bones broken, I feel how some extremities bleed abundantly. I can't take another step, and the burning of the gem and its glow in the same way disappear little by little.

Much of my clothing is destroyed, my last efforts, despite my exhaustion, allow me to kneel down and take iolita in my arms.

"You saved me iolita... thank you."

My body falls to the ground, and I feel the barrier I had placed on the boys disappear in the same way as any spell I had imbued in my body. The warmth of iolita's body is the most comfortable thing about this situation. I feel her snuggle into my chest, uncovered by the tattered clothes I have on.

"Dion!!!"-the boys' chorused screams reverberate the place, and I watch as their silhouettes run towards me is the last thing I manage to appreciate as I fall unconscious.
